Mr PL, actually, I didn't even realize that I quoted you.  Guess I just came up with the same words on accident, because I don't remember reading that you wrote that.  Sometimes Wookies tend to miss a couple of sentences in a post as big as yours was.

Ok though, deal.  Sell me a new SAGA red Battle Droid for 2 dollars and you have your money.  I'll even pay for shipping. ;)

I like Jesse's idea about the Hoth Trench.  It's too bad that Hasbro doesn't incorportate more ideas like that and put in new figures instead of boring rehashes.

A Battle Droid 10-pk would be pretty sweet...

...they could possibly do that at retail for about $30.00.  I think they would sell, especially if they did an EPI beige set as well as an EPII red set.  Good idea there Darth Homer.

As for the Destroyers, they really didn't have too much of a role in EPII, but what the heck, I guess I could use some more as well as a few more Super Droids.  But it's the regular, sissy Battle Droids that I really want more of.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.  It's great to see such a friendly bunch of collectors, as well as some familiar faces.  I'm looking forward to some great times here at Jedidefender.

Yep, nomad's was a heck of a forum for about a year, but only 5-6 of us were really posting there, and once a couple of us got sidetracked for a while, it really died down.  Now there's only about 1-2 posts a month there. :'(  But I'll always stop by there once in a while.

This does seem like a great forum, not too big, not too small, and everyone seems really cool.  My first name by the way is "Justin", you can call me that or by my screen name "CHEWIE", yep I'm the same CHEWIE from nomad's, yakface, and rebelscum.  And my little  " :P " at the bottom of each post is just my silly signature.  I have one for every site.

This is a good topic.  What killed the line? HASBRO DID.

They just made too many dumb decisions.  Their marketing team seems to be just awful.  Every time they have a good thing going, they decide to change it.  They make dumb decisions that make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

All they need to do in order for the Deluxe line to be successful is take a look at the ones that measure up as being successes.  Hoth Rebel, Snowtrooper, Bacta Luke, Slave Leia, 3PO w/ Battle Droid, Nexu, etc.  And then look at the flops; flipping figures, lightsaber spinners, battle pack Jango, etc.

Just make ones that are movie accurate (for the most part), are collector oriented, and come with an accessory that makes a good addition to a diorama or display.  It's not rocket science, Hasbro just makes stupid decisions.

I swear, almost any collector could come up with a better Deluxe lineup than Hasbro has done...

Jedirhino!!!  Great to see you here!  Did you see my post at nomad's?

I think you are probably right about the sales, if (or when) they realize this Clone pack is a money maker, more could be on the way.

Yep, if Hasbro only had the insight we have! ;)

I agree Jesse, they could have done an all around great job on sculpt and articulation from the get go, and released it in the first wave of SAGA.

Then, later on, they could have thrown in a red version.  Later on, a blue version, and all the colors after time.

Along comes a pilot version next with only a different helmet.

Somewhere down the road, they could have made one with a removable helmet.

One day they could have made one with battle wear.

Another wave down the road could have been the original one again.

Yep, Hasbro sure missed the boat on this one, they could have made a ton of money off one ititial sculpt.  Dumb Hasbro Dumb!!!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Should I put up my customs again?
« on: April 30, 2003, 01:19 AM »
I'm looking forward to seeing them too!  Someday I need to get my act together and get my customs up and get a site of my own going.  I've got over a 100 customs now, and I think a lot of them are good enough to show.  I might be too embarrased to show some of my low quality work though... ;)

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Clone 3-pk ...does it suffice?
« on: April 30, 2003, 01:14 AM »
I think it looks really cool, but I am still yearning for a well done Clone with the quality of sculpt and articulation given to the CT Stormtooper.   I want an amry of great Clones.  The preview version is decent, but not good enough for a picky Wookie like myself.

Shouldn't Hasbro have made one from the get-go?  Wouldn't they have sold like hot cakes?  Will we see an all-around awesome version before EPIII figures come out??

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Target Accessory Sets (Summer '03)
« on: April 30, 2003, 01:11 AM »
I've got mixed feelings about these upcoming sets, here's my opinions based on the pics:

Gungan Set - I think this is a lame set and is going to bomb at Target.  The accessories are just horrible, and I don't think too many people will justify paying $10.00 for a Gungan Warrior.  Count me in for just one set.

Gamorrean Guard - this set had so much potential, and Hasbro flubbed it up with the crappy Carbonite block.  Yuck... I'm doing ok on my Gamorrean army, so I will probably only get one of these.

Rebel Technician - This could have been a potential goldmine for Hasbro had they just put the POTJ/SAGA head variants on this figure, and/or had the ability to use the body of the POTJ/SAGA Imperial Officer.  Damn!  I still really like this set though, and want to build a small army of them.  I think I will get about 10 sets of these over time.  I really, really like the accessories that come with it.

This is the kind of topic I really like...

...but I will have to come up with my own personal list later, it's bed time for me, I just worked 21 (yes twenty-one) hours straight as I am a Walgreens manager and had a bit of a crisis on my hands at work.

Yep, the sale seems to have been a flop.  Great prices, horrible selection of figures.  Barf!

I'll come up with a bigger list soon, but for starters, how about:

- Shmi Skywalker
- Cliegg Lars
- Owen Lars
- Beru Whitesun
