According to the "Star Wars Behind the Magic" second CD, the color of the brown cloth vintage version was correct.

Feedback / Amazing!

I just got a much needed mint vinty Vader cape in the mail in excellent condition, and time!

Best of all?  He saw that I needed one and just gave it to me!

You won't find anyone nicer than this guy.  Few people are willing to help others out with such willingness and enthusiasm, but he is definately one of the few.

He gets an A+ in my book, and I would DEFINATELY deal with him again in the future.

It looks like an Ugnaught in there to me.

When did the Ugnaught come out in relation to the Ronto?  If they were pretty far apart, it would be impossible anyway.

Vintage Kenner / Re: How Deep will I Sink?

I really think you're all pretty lucky having had the privledge of picking these figures out as a kid though.  I wasn't born until 84, so by the time I was into Star Wars figures (87 or so), there weren't many around for me to pick.

As a kid, the only vintage figs I had were Bespin Luke, Sandperson, Nien Numb, Royal Guard, and one of the figures from the Ewoks line.

They all ended up being sold in an auction in the early 90's.   :'(

Anyway, do any of you ever get a little upset when you realize your days of playing with these toys are becoming more and more distant?

I've noticed that, when introduced to childhood toys, the fond memories are sometimes cancelled out by the longing of wishing those days weren't over.  Its sometimes a little saddening to see how fast time goes by.

Mine has a blast mark on the hand, but I have heard that versions were released without it.  I can't say for certain however.

The only beast packs I need in the POTF2 line are this one, the Luke and Tauntaun, and the Wampa.

Unfortunatly, I'll probably end up buying only the Luke, and will just stick the new Han on the tauntaun included in the upcoming Toys R Us Hoth set.

I just can't spend such an amount on these items.

Just a question.  How many bags of chips did one have to consume to get this figure?

At this time, I was in the 6th grade and the Froot Loops Han is what sparked my collecting.  I was completely unaware of this figure however.

The AT-AT is my favorite vehicle for any toy line, bar none.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: which one is rarest?

This kind of thing sure makes me glad I am a loose collector!  A common Weequay and a FF Weequay look the same to me!

The only bad thing is, I've opened a few "rare" figures, which I could've traded for more loose stuff had I played my cards right.

That's a tough one, but I'll have to go with holo Leia R2.  That was a great figure.

I know that feeling well!  I wasn't going to collect any POTJ figures until I saw that they were making R2-Q5.

In the hopes of getting this new droid, I went to store after store, day after day.  Each time, I was coming home with different POTJ figures that weren't the all elusive droid.  The droid got me into POTJ, but I couldn't find him anywhere!

Finally, with the Zutton wave out, I caved and bought Tessek, Lando, Jar Jar, and R2-Q5 on eBay.  The anticipation was great, and when he finally arrived, I rejoiced.

Bravo Barfly.

I don't think the sculpt of R5-D4 was that bad.  It was a pretty good sculpt with some good detailing in my oppinion.  The reason he sucks is because they had to enlarge him to add that stupid rocket feature, and fo course make him split in half.

Monkey Leia is easily the worst.

Vintage Kenner / How Deep will I Sink?
« on: June 29, 2003, 02:16 AM »
When I started collecting modern figures, I decided all I wanted were a few of the main characters.  Soon I wanted one of every figure, but no beasts or vehicles.  Then I wanted beasts and vehicles, but only OT stuff.  Then I decided to pick up a few PT figures.  Finally, I decided to get it all.

Now I have entered the vintage realm.  I got the first 12 as a gift and thought I'd stop there.  Not so.  I've found myself browsing eBay now for vintage figures.

It looks like history is repeating itself.  Anyway, my question is, has anything like this happened to any of you?  How many of you decided only to get figures/certain figures and stopped at that?  How many moved on to other things once completing the original goals?

At this point, my goal is still "just the figures", with no interest in vehicles, playsets, mini rigs, or expensive variatons.  I fear that this won't last.  How many of you have had similar situations arrise?

This is really a tragedy.  They should've released these first, and not even bothered with Greedo, Hammerhead, Walrus Man.

Did they really expect them to be big sellers?
