I really like these figures. I don't care that Anakin wasn't seen in the miovie with a mech arm and a lightsaber. The Boba Fett looks really nice, I like the fact that Hasbro realizes that not everyone buys Real Stands, and started to make the bases. :D Just curious what that thing dangling beneath R2 is ;).

I just hope that Fett can stand, his feet look akward.
Any thoughts on the other figures announced?
I'm definately gonna snag the Snowtrooper, Hoth Han, Vader, and Luke.

I just realized Boba Fett's helmet antenna is ARTICULATED! Awesome, now you can push it down for flight and accurate Jedi-lasso'ing! :D ;D ;) :)

300th Fett and Jango have that articulation also. Plus, I figured out what the thing under R2 is...it's a string lanyard. It holds the string that runs through R2's body (that you can see coming out of the top of his dome). There's most likely another at the other end of the string for R2's flying action feature.

I really like the direction they appear to be headed in :)
the Fett 'base' take the "Unleashed" concept (in a way) and adds articulation
can't wait for the Anakin. I've wanted a 'robotic arm' since I first heard about it; plus we finally get a cloak :) I just wish it was a little more 'subduded' to go w/ the upcoming 'wedding' Padme'.

I think these all look sweet, but in reality, I'm not all that excited. There are still tons of ATOC figures we haven't seen and that are still not one of the reported 2003 figures, yet we get rehash after rehash.
Okay, I just recounted. We get 8 new figures out of the first 22 releases for 2003. I guess that's not too bad. But the library droids weren't even in the movie and where is the Lars family? Bail Organa? Dorme? Poggle the Lessor?

Cool, thanks for the tip Scott! Hmm... A few observations here:
- Anakin: Apparently doesn't come with a "regular" arm/hand after all - just the robotic one. Cool touch to have the cloack removable, but it looks pretty crappy with the two big strands hanging over the front like that.
- Barriss Offee: Her entire cloak is removable! I had no idea this would be the case, but it's a nice option to achieve a different look for her if desired. I prefer it on though. Hate that dang silver magnet in her hand though. Why not just paint the magnet a flesh color?!
- Boba Fett: The fire base is indeed removable. Abnormally skinny legs... The jet pack "rocket" at the top is rather oddly shaped, and might actually be a button to trigger the oft-rumored "quick draw" action feature (oh dear). Very colorful...
- Darth Tyrannus: Looks decent, but again with the ugly silver hand magnet.
- Flying R2-D2: Retractable 3rd leg. Looks like R2's "thingee" should hopefully be staying hidden within his body and serve as a "stopper" when the more authentic magnetic grappling hook on the other end (to tow 3-PO's head) is used. Unless it serves another purpose...? The cord (string) scrolls around a peg on his back, so best keep him facing forward. Dare I comment on the new head? Just a dome with some details painted on. Not good. Might just use this figure as a fishing lure...
I'll have to wait to get these in hand before I pass final judgement on them, but overall this wave isn't terribly exciting to me. Barriss looks nice and the Boba Fett might have some potential, but the other three do nothing for me. We'll see...

I think that R2 could possibly be the worst figure ever, the legs don't look like they are moveable...
Boba and Anakin look really cool. I will for sure be keeping them...
Dooku looks strange, like his head is squashed
I hate the kiddy way these toys are going (is that a paradox) after years of being collector driven they kind of have been thumbing our noses in it

I just noticed the DRASTIC difference in the rocket on Boba Fett's jet packs, between Hasbro's published picture and the new loose ones. You know what that means. We're in trouble... >:(

Man, the Boba looks much different from what Hasbro showed us a while back. I was really looking forward to that figure, looks funky now. The Anakin was/is eehh, ok, just another anakin and I did not like the rope with artoo. Oh well.... ::)

Call me over-critical... but I think they all look bad... The Fett was only one that was good, and Hasbro wouldn't allow a Fett to slip by w/o an Action Feature.
I won't buy any of them.

Mike just posted a bunch of new loose shots of these three figures here, at GH (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=745&zoneid=2). Not looking so good. I'm just not sure what goes through Hasbro's mind sometimes.
The R2-D2 doesn't even have articulated legs (just ankles)!! This is a first! I already mentioned his atrocious noggin, so I won't touch on that again.
Then we finally get this ultra articulated Anakin (nice), BUT with the freaking robotic hand! It was originally rumored that this figure would come with interchangeable arms - one regular, and one robotic one. If that has indeed changed to just a robotic one, as it appears, then all of this articulation is a total waste (except for customizers). When did we see Anakin do anything with his robotic hand, other than holding Padme's hand for 2 seconds in the wedding scene?!? We didn't. So to get this super articulated Anakin, with a VERY scene specific appendage is completely assinine.
Finally we get to Boba Fett. Again, some nice articulation in areas, but completely ruined by that disgusting button on top of his jet pack, rather than the correct rocket. Why? Does Hasbro seriously think that kids aren't capable of raising a figures arms into a shooting position all by themselves, so they need to add in another horrendous action feature to accomplish the task for them? I used to accomplish all of the "action" for my Vintage figures all by myself as a kid, with no problems whatsoever. I just don't get it... And I still say that this new Fett is just way too vibrantly clean and colorful. Check out the comparison shots at GH to the 300th Fett. Big difference, and not for the better (and yes, I do realize they're from two different movies). Perhaps the final product will look a little more weathered and battle tested though, but I won't hold my breath...
This wave just rots like stinky Bantha poodoo (IMO).
