Saga Collection '06 / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting
« on: July 13, 2005, 09:41 PM »
Maybe Hasbro just doesn't want to commit the resources they have in the past to SW.  They realize like we do the line's salad days are over, so they figure they'll just scrape by with rehash crap.

Or, maybe they're just reloading.  We saw a lot of rehashes all of a sudden at the tail end of the AOTC line, remember (Ki Adi Mundi, Yoda, Tusken Raider) before they came back at us with new stuff in 2003.

I'd like to believe the future's so bright I have to wear shades, but I doubt it.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Millennium Falcon In ROTS Packaging?

I want whatever Hasbro is smoking.  Seriously.

I laughed when I saw this.  Next year we're going to get Lava Reflection Padme, you know.

It's not so much I want to quit as Hasbro is making it very easy for me to do it.  The upcoming Wedge is proof positive the lunatics are running the asylum now, and today's steady stream of rehash/repaint news only reinforces it.  I've been a loose incompleteist since after 1999.  I'm only buying new figures I want (provided they are any) from now on.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS - #57 and beyond

I don't mind most of these, and I'm glad they're doing them, but all at once?  Reminds me of the end of Playmates Star Trek line, you know, when it ENDED.

Bly, Gree, clones, wookies, holo Plo Koon, Shu Mai, great.  The rest... sigh.  And after seeing the inexplicable black Clone Pilot and the green CC, I get to wonder if Hasbro hasn't decided simply to Batman the whole line from here on out.

Green?  GREEN?   ::)  Sometimes you can't win for losing with these guys.  Sigh.

This makes me so angry.  That's about all I have to say about it other than like everyone else, my thoughts and prayers are with the folks over there.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Can Sith Beat Titanic?

It will probably make $371 by next weekend, certainly will by the end of next weekend.  I think I said something like $391.  It's possible, but I doubt it.

WM is up to $5.88 here in Iowa too, but Target is back to $5.24... hmm.  Oh, well.  Wasn't buying anything at WM anyway.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: TRU Exclusive Clones!
« on: June 29, 2005, 02:02 PM »
I still don't understand why these are exclusives.  Ok, I get that Hasbro/TRU can crank the price, knowing we'll buy these, but they also know that any clone, whatever the color, is like money in the bank.  Would you want 50,000 of them out there, or 100,000?  More?  These colors would sell forever as part of any future assortment.

That's great!  Does the skirt come right off?  I'm looking at mine and not seeing a notch like on the CC.  And I wonder if the head would ride any higher on the #6 clone or even the jet pack one.  Great job.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: King Kong
« on: June 28, 2005, 08:33 PM »
I just wanted Jack to stop talking.  The pacing really seemed off in the beginning, and the dialogue a little bloated, and then of course Kong showed up and I was like "YES!"

2879
Has anyone tried swapping some parts with Bacarra to make him more articulated?  I know his head and shoulder thing fits pretty well on the CC and on the SA Clone, but I'm not sure about the skirt.

The Flyer is one of my favorite vehicles of the PT line.  I kinda' wish they'd do the catamaran, too, but... the pilot's okay, he doesn't need to do much but fly.   Both the Sneek Peek and #43 Wookies fit in the rear seat pretty good.
