In response to the question posed by JediMac in the split thread...
I'd say proximity this time is above cost.Proximity within reason,though.Because,some of the hotles are very expensive,around two hundred a night and for five nights,no thanks.However,something that's still downtown and is not that far away from the convention center(5-10 blocks) could be more managable,since the rates are only about $115 a night.
Another reason for wanting proximity to the convention center is because most of the fun will be happening there and should I need to get back to the hotle for any reason.Or,in being down town,you can't be to far away from some sort of fast food(as opposed to the outragous lines at the cons and overpriced food)So,I'd say in this rare case I'm throwing caution to the win when it comes to cash.
