Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Hurricane Season 2004
« on: September 9, 2004, 12:59 PM »
I cannot even begin to express how SICK of this hurricane crap I am!!!!

Charley damaged my home, (just $2000) Francis damaged one of my work trucks, and this has killed my business for the rest of the season. Moved most of the contents of my home to a safer location, but cannot move anything home until we see what Ivan is going to do. (I live in a mandantory evacuation area, twice I have been told to leave my home) This is going on 5 weeks with no work, I am about to snap. I am physically ok, but pretty stressed. Almost ready to go O Ren on somebody.... >:(  Being without power for a week at a time in the Florida heat is enough to make a person crazy.

There HAS to be SOME explanation why these storms are hitting this area like this.  I have lived in Florida over 30 years, I've never heard of this happening before, anywhere.  I am thankful that damage was not worse for me, but PLEASE! ENOUGH!!

But here I am, checking in and venting a little. Hope all the rest of my Florida friends are ok. (Just checked on Karma, she is ok too) For any of you that might be in future hurricane paths, heed the warnings and PREPARE. Thanks for all of you that cared enough to think of our struggle.

I have a question on the upcoming Stormtrooper bust. How many different arms  does this piece come with? (sorry if this has been discussed already, I am still a Gentle Giants newbie) Perhaps I will have to order more than one? :P

You, Karen, and I are gonna have our work cut out for us come next month some time...   ;)

Still haven't decided if I'm picking up this Jedi Mickey, but I'm sure I'll probably cave when I see it.  Cute little bugger!

Think they'll ever do a Princess Leia Minny to go with him?  Then a Han Solo Donald Duck...  A Goofy as Chewbacca...  Pluto as R2?   8)

Geez, Matt!! Don't give Disney any ideas!!! :-X The Jedi Mickey is also a great baby shower gift for those SW buddies that are expecting little Padawans...

Hopefully, this will be the last wave of ST figs. I put boxes and packing material aside for my next tour of duty. There are members that really appreciate our help, so it is worth the extra work most of the time.  It has been great to go out to Disney more often, I have enjoyed being an annual pass holder. (plus, Once Upon a Toy ROCKS!)

;D I will be glad to see the  Jedi Mickey plush become a regular item at Disney. For as popular as it was at SWW, it was surprising to see them limit it. (But they do this on purpose, I think...)

I will have to start checking Tatooine Traders, I would imagine they will show up about the same time as the wave 4 Star Tour figures.

Just got the Chrome Vader and Jango in the last couple of weeks. All I can say is Wow! (but REALLY wish the Vader was Silver like Jango!) A couple of trade friends hooked me up for reasonable prices, these are just great pieces.

I like the new Certificates of Authenticity the are offering. They are the size of a trading card, and will be a lot easier to store or display. Did the new Bossk come with the new COA?

I am looking forward to  "Hero", I have a very deep love of  martial arts movies.  I don't really care for the American features  Jet Li does, I prefer his Chinese movies.

Crouching Tiger was great, went to see it in the theater twice. Kung Fu was just as important to me as Star Wars while growing up, so these types of movies really appeal to me. Bring on the Chinese folklore!

I was late getting into this collection,  just started less than 2 months ago. Thanks to several GREAT trade friends, I got several really good deals. Don't be discouraged by secondary market prices. If you are a good trader, the good deals will come your way! Currently, my collection has a total of 12 SW busts, with 3 on the way.

These Gentle Giants pieces are just incredible! The statues, although some may consider them pricey, I find them MUCH more affordable than the Attakus.  Definately going to collect these as well.

Hasbro has really disappointed me in the last few years, my collecting taste has been craving the higher end stuff.

I took a chance, and placed the order. If Luke's head doesn't turn out better, I can always cancel. Doubt I will need to though. ;D

A sigh of relief! It looks as if the fans have been heard, SWS.Com seems to be doing a little backpeddling. Those of you with damaged figures should be taken care of. I am going to place my order next week, I want to see what happens over the weekend.

" StarWarsShop.com strives to deliver high-quality product to the Star Wars collector community. The new, exclusive sandtrooper is no exception.
We understand that as a collector, you would like to receive your collectibles in the best condition possible. StarWarsShop.com received the silver sandtrooper directly from Hasbro, and subsequently sent your order directly to you. If you feel your Sandtrooper was received in "less-than-mint" condition, please accept our apologies. Due to the limited quantities that were produced of this item, we unfortunately cannot accept returns.

However, we have listened to your important feedback, and would like to share with you our plans for delivering future exclusive figures to our customers. StarWarsShop.com will have exclusive figures available only in protective Star Cases in an effort that helps ensure no damage occurs during shipping. We will also continue to implement quality assurance inspections of each figure prior to shipment of the figure to you, our valued customer.

Since we did not post the disclaimer on our site until the afternoon of 8/2, anyone who ordered before that date will be happy to honor exchanges or returns. We must mention though that we can not guarantee mint condition if you choose to exchange, although we will do our best. Please e-mail customerservice@starwarsshop.com with any questions or comments. Reports of these exclusives coming from SWS.com are not good, most everyone getting really badly damaged Silver trooper figures:

Several members of TradeFed have complained of the same problem, I am waiting to order mine until they staighten this out. Really glad I got several at SDCC.
