The Prequel Trilogy / How does Padme REALLY die?
« on: August 31, 2009, 09:41 PM »
A pretty good question here - how exactly does the Senator of Naboo die? In ROTS Anakin force chokes her ... we know that - but it didn't kill her! The droids that assist her (in that somewhat fake childbirth scene, I'm sorry, but we all know our moms probably went through more than that  :() tell Obi-Wan that she lost the will to live. She most likely didn't die 100% because of that, you're body can't just shut down like that because one day you don't feel like living. I heard that some novels mentioned that Anakin broke a bone in her neck, not her actual neck. So what's the reason behind this honorable senator's death? Anyone think they can elaborate on this?

The Original Trilogy / Re: Obi-Wan's non-cauterizing strikes...
« on: August 31, 2009, 09:32 PM »
Good question - if you look at the scene where Anakin slices off Mace Windu's hand in ROTS, you see a pretty cauterized mess there. And was that really a bloody mist which came from Maul when he was sliced? 'Cause you can see a red mist there - I always thought maybe it was Sith energy/power being released from his body, but I guess it CAN be blood. Maybe Ponda Baba was just too alien for the lightsaber to cauterize his flesh? Completely valid reason right there.

The Original Trilogy / Princess Leia's Ep. IV Accent
« on: August 31, 2009, 09:28 PM »
A question to all fans out there - why does Princess Leia have an almost British-like accent in Ep. IV, which eventually disappears in Episodes V and VI? I have been wondering for a LOOONG time, but I just forgot about it one day day. Then I recently read an article in which someone else also points this out, and now I want a final answer. Anyone care to share any information?  ???

Looking forward to the Nihl/Deliah set. HOPEFULLY Nihl has more articulation than Krayt ... will the Sith Emperor be displeased?  ??? Really disappointed with the Krayt figure. And to me Sigel Dare is just okay as well. The Luke/Lumiya CP is better.   ::)

With Willrow coming soon I am really digging all of the pot bellied figures in the line. They look great as ordinary unheroic characters to compliment dioramas.

Don't let Willrow hear that!  ;) Ya gotta give the ICMG some love! He's finally gona hit shelves!

Ah, good wave  ;D but The Legacy Collection has gotten a 'lil too collector-oriented. Maybe that's why Legacy sales are dropping   ???  I'd most DEFINITELY like to see more exciting characters, though. This wave itself is pretty cool...

The AOTC Obi-Wan looks a but frumpy because of the ball jointed hips and it's too moves too tight/ in an ndexed fashion.

Gotta agree with you ... Obi-Wan's shoulders, elbows, and hips are all WAY too hard to move!  >:(

Second Utai dumped  :(

That's too bad. Although a good figure, I honestly can say I wouldn't have bought the variation. Just different enough to make me mad...   >:(

Does anyone have the certificate for this mail-away? The Hasbro website says the file can't be found....   >:(

The file works now, but will Hasbro accept the five proof of purchases with a printed-out certificate from the website? Or do you need an actual certificate packed-in with one of the upcoming figures? Just asking to play it safe; I don't want to mail in the 5 proof of purchases plus $6-7 and not get that awesome Eopie and Qui-Gon.

Collect All 92! / Vintage-Design EU Figures
« on: August 19, 2009, 02:09 AM »
There have been a lot (A LOT  :o) of rumors that Hasbro would do the Vintage design (VTSC, VTAC) for outside-OT characters (TPM, AOTC, ROTS, EU). How would these figures do? And what would they be? Would this be a good idea for Hasbro? A SA Darth Maul on a reprint of TPM card? Heck, figures thse days certainly have equal value now to the Vintage-designed figures, but would collectors buy these otherwise new figures?  ???

SOOOO news came out that the new boxed sets would be released with some repaints but MOSTLY new figures. Now that's news! Let the speculation begin! (Startin' with me!)  ;D

So maybe we'll get a new Emperor's guard with that lightsaber thingy, with more articulation and significant quality. Shaak Ti's already out (she'll be in an EU-themed wave  :D) So who else is there besides Galen Marek? Hasbro could certainly do a Darth Phobos  :o or Darth Desolus  :o. That would be ideal to be sold in one set.... so who else from this great video game can Hasbro make??

The Legacy Collection / 2010 Comic Packs
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:13 PM »
I'm just posting it here to separate it from the 2008-09 Comic Packs thread.

The upcoming Darth Nihl/Deliah Blue seems weird to me. Why not Wolf Sazen in Deliah's place?  ??? Maybe a Jariah Syn/Blue set would have been better? Hmm, Hasbro?
And wattabout the KOTOR set including Jarael? (Looks pretty frickin' good!)
AND has anyone noticed that the cyborg Darth Maul as seen in Visionaries wasn't shown in the SDCC 2009 presentation??!!  :o

The fans respond!  8)

I'm just wondering - the R2-D2 in this set is mostly described as using a superior body mold - how? Does anyone care to elaborate?  ::)

Has anyone scored that new Luke/Lumiya set? And is Lumiya the same color as in the comic...Hasbro said that they would do her that way.

And one question regarding Lumiya (I thought I'd put it here since I'm already talking about her). Luke shoots her ship down, and she's severly injured, which is how she becomes a cyborg. But in the Essential Guide to the Force book, with Luke and Vader on the cover, Lumiya is shown with Vader, and she's being treated by a medical droid. In this pic her body appears whole, even her arms, which are described as cybernetic in many novels, look real - is she a cyborg in this picture? How come she appears relatively unharmed? Did Vader and the droids fix her cybernetic body up to look real? Or is she still 100% organic here?  ???

The Legacy Collection / Re: Funeral Pyre Vader w/ Luke
« on: August 12, 2009, 01:48 PM »
I've been under the impression that Luke did burn Vader/Anakin's physical body as we didn't see him pass on or "disappear" into the force as Obi-Wan and Yoda did. And, if Hasbro were to do it right, Vader shouldn't include his right hand since he lost that down the reactor shaft courtesy of Luke.

I don't have a link, but to clear it up for you, if you go to Wookiepedia and search Darth Vader, it says that what was left of his organic body dematerialized. Yeah, we don't see it happen, but he passed on like Yoda and Obi-Wan did (makes you wonder why Qui-Gon didn't). So all Luke is burning is his armor.
