The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions

I wouldn't be surprised if they get to the sandcrawler one day, something tells me they'll be selling star wars product for a long time to come. I would definitely be up for one, and the bigger the better. I don't see why they couldn't work some of the old droid factory features into the interior and combine the two for more play value.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2010 "Vintage" Collection Wave 4 - AotC

I'm really looking forward to this wave. Although I'm more of an OT guy, good figures for Attack of the clones and The phantom menace are in such short supply, I really appreciate them when they come.

I can't see myself picking up anything but the Luke. I like the belt with the grappling hook and that comlink might be removable. If he comes with a newly scaled E-11 I'd be happy.

There's not much I can say about the others that hasn't been mentioned. Between the Jedi and Clones wave, my wallet will probably enjoy the rest.

Collect All 92! / Re: IG-88

He was always nicknamed pencil head by my sister.

I don't know whether anyone else has found this, but my VOTC version's hips don't move. I was really surprised when I got the Lancer version and found that his do. Is this standard, or is my IG88 defective?

I noticed in the cockpit, they sculpted the part on the console where Vader's hologram appears. I wonder if at some point, a figure might have a mini Vader holo packed in. With the blue light effect it could look pretty good.

In the UK, Toys' R Us are just getting these now. For some reason each outlet just gets one case to start and then the bulk order seems to come about a month later. I only have one outlet nearby, so the odds are pretty slim that I bag it. Due to the small amount of product, it's hard to tell if the wave has been and gone or yet to arrive.

Thanks for the in depth review Jesse. I originally just wanted the Rebel set, but you've made me want to pick up both.

I'm really looking forward to the Defence pack, I've wanted a turret since back in the vintage days. When it came out in the UBP, I just couldn't warrant buying, with the turret being the sole reason for picking it up. Han and Luke just looked plain weird to me.

This is the release I've been waiting for... now I just hope it turns up in the UK.

Pictures of the rest of this wave are up at Sandtroopers. I like the robe color on the Mace, it's much more AOTC than the prototype on display at Celebration, which had more of a Sith look. I think this is the best version of the character to date. The sabre looks a bit blue, but I have plenty of substitutes.

This wave should be hitting any day over here. I'm not planning on picking up that many, but that could all change when I see them in person. Anakin, Grievous and the magna guard are on the list but I'm on the fence with Sidious due to that granny shawl.

Thanks for that Jesse, I'll check out some  graffitti remover.

It was really strange getting back from work yesterday and seeing those battled droids still upright without the use of stands.

I'll bet you can remove the yellow paint with some Goof-off.

Goof-off isn't available over here in the UK, but I'm sure there's an equivalent. Someone suggested nail polish remover to me a while back , when I was trying to de-pink a snowtrooper helmet. The results weren't that great.

The yellow markings always remind me of the dulok's in the old ewok series. I remember a few episodes where they were marked up with the same color.

I picked up a couple of battle droid two packs over the weekend.  With two figures, a pack of weapons and the game stuff (if you're into that) this seems very good value. It's really refreshing to have some droids that don't fall over all the time and can pull a variety of poses. The plastic seems much sturdier than previous releases and this kind of joint on the hip really helps.

If they can make that left hand twist for a two handed blaster grip it would be even better.

Although I wish they'd put two grunts to a pack, I'm still going to be loading up on these guys.

Damn it, you're probably right.... at least that means there's a chance they might fix that overly yellow inner robe they've given Obi Wan...

I'm really pleased that they finally seem to have the ankles joints matching the boots in this wave. When they get it wrong it really bugs me for some reason. . A definite upgrade for Obi Wan in this department.
