Yep, so that picture uploading feature is indeed disabled for members here.  Sorry 'bout that.  But like I said, if you want to e-mail any of your pictures to a staff member here, we could upload a few pix for you, no problem.  Just let us know...

Hmmm...  I'm wondering if that feature is only available to the staff (I can use it, no problem).  It's possible that's not an available option for our members to use though, and come to think of it, I don't recall seeing any JD members do that before.  I'll ask the boss to verify that though.

If that's indeed the case, I know you can e-mail us your pictures and we can host them for you, provided there's not a bajillion of them, of course.  ;)

Stay tuned...

The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions
« on: September 30, 2007, 05:15 AM »
Good news on the Wookiee figure(s), IMO.  I really believe that's a great figure that was overlooked for re-release in 2007...

The Sneak Preview Wookiee Warrior was possibly the biggest pegwarmer of the year after it hit shelves.  In fact, I'm pretty sure there's still a few of them hanging at some of our local stores to this day.  The re-release they did of it in one of those VHTF final ROTS waves even hung for quite some time around here.  Frightening to think Hasbro is contemplating re-releasing that thing, especially without a resculpt.  More pegwarming glut, no doubt.  I'm sure I could still dig a few up at some of our KBs and WMs if anyone is that desperate for some more.  Just LMK...

As for the questions in general, yeah, after 39 sessions there's bound to be very little that hasn't been posed to Hasbro already (like Greg just mentioned).  With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that many sites would submit a question regarding the hot topic of the week in the Hoth BP.  I certainly don't fault them for that, nor do I take issue with them not knowing that other sites received the same question (possibly from the same person).  I hope we're not suggesting that asking a question on the hottest new topic from the previous couple weeks is stupid, or potentially repetitive.  I'm sure there's going to be a few questions about the final outcome in the Legends voting this upcoming session, which I'm looking forward to reading.  I hope we wouldn't nix any potential questions on the matter here at JD simply because it's "too popular" a topic, and will likely be covered by the other sites...

I would also imagine that after 39 sessions with 15 or so different sites, not every site is going to have such a keen recollection as JD does (thanks MB) as to what's already been asked before (especially some of the newer sites), so duplicate questions are bound to occur from time to time.  I don't mind a repetitive question here and there if it further drives a valid point at Hasbro (like SA Rebel Troopers, Bespin Cloud Cars, playsets, floating Speederbikes, etc.)

I think some of the expectations around here are a tad too high regarding these Q & A sessions at this point.  We should just be thankful that Hasbro's even still doing them, and that they're allowing every last SW collecting site to participate, even if it affords us only a minor tease or two every couple weeks.  I guess at this late juncture, I look at the Q & A's as more of a vehicle to offer our thoughts, suggestions and feedback to Hasbro, as opposed to something that's supposed to give us some definitive answers on what's upcoming from them.  Seems most people view it as the latter, which is pretty fruitless most weeks.  I think the more constructive use of the Q & A would be the former, but I guess I'm in the minority with that view.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Saga Legends
« on: September 29, 2007, 04:50 AM »
Saw some pieces from wave 4 today at retail.  Namely the Biker Scout, TC-14 and Clone Trooper Sergeant.

That's news. Where did you see them?

I found the Biker Scout, red Pit Droids, blonde IO, yellow Clone Officer, and shot up Battle Droids tonight at WM.  No TC-14 though.  Found the UGH Darktrooper Legends assortments en masse as well.  Good stuff!

Now if I could just find the Legends checklist to figure out where the hell I stand right now, that'd be great...

Those results are repulsive.  Just a bunch of additional boring Clones, including a couple ridiculous non-movie versions.  I seriously think I'm going to puke.  What a waste of time that poll was, especially since Hasbro was most likely going to spit those Clones back out at us eventually anyway.  I guess JD and a few other sites aren't even remotely representative of what the greater collecting (voting) community wants.  I just don't get it...

I guess it's nice to get Neyo into folks' hands who could never find that WM exclusive, so that's not totally stupid.  Personally, I'm happy to get Zev carded, as he was one of my five choices, but I could give two ***** for the rest of that non-OT crap.  I'm seriously pissed that Blue Snag didn't make the cut.  No EB Chewie or R3-A2 either.   More clones.  Whoopdee ******' doo.

And the Shadow Stormtrooper seriously beat out the VOTC Stormie?  I find that very hard to believe.  I'm almost wondering how legit that final outcome was.  This sucks>:(

(no offense, Mike  :P)

Pretty cool!  Though I don't think anyone in the history of the world has a bigger neck waddle than Lucas.  That thing is disgusting.  With all his money, why doesn't he have that thing surgically removed...?

So what exactly took your buddy to Skywalker Ranch, Anthony?

I didn't know where to stick this, so I guess I'll give it it's own thread.  My wife showed me this "Britain's Got Talent" clip on YouTube last night and I thought it was actually fake at first, but then was...well, you'll have to watch it for yourself, if you're not one of the 25 million+ folks who hasn't seen it already:

Paul Potts on "Britain's Got Talent"

I doubt Simon Cowell's ever looked so stunned before.  Never judge a book by it's cover, eh...?   :o

P.S.  I think I'm officially in love with Amanda now too.

1(800)362-4533

Apparently that's the Disneyland (only) number.  I'll stick the WDW # in here for everyone else's reference: (407) 363-6200.

So I just called that number, and they told me that they don't sell these by the case - AT ALL.  The jerk on the phone said they only sell them individually, and that there's no guarantee on which ones I'll get.  That makes no sense (which I told him) based on everything I've heard from Hasbro and the folks that I thought had ordered these things the same way.  Perhaps if you tell them "Quantity = 10", then someone may ship a sealed case, but the guy told me that wasn't true either.

Has anyone actually ordered a case of these things here?  If so, how'd you make it work?  Maybe I just got a jackass operator who didn't know better, though he says he's sold many of these over the past several months, but NEVER by a case.

Disney ratbastards.  :-X

Happy 23rd, Brad!!  God, seems like just yesterday you were this young, unassuming, fresh-faced teen.  Look at you now, all grown up.  My, how time flies!  :P

Have a great day, buddy!

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC Endor Battle Pack
« on: September 20, 2007, 07:56 PM »
That'd be kinda lame if they stuck an AT-ST into this set as well, after it's inclusion in the Hoth set already.  Otherwise, I can't really see Hasbro sticking a random AT-ST Driver into this set as a random Imperial army builder (by himself), apart from his usual rig.  I'd rather see the Bunker, Glider and a couple Speederbikes in this set, like I was speculating on earlier.

Of course, with Chewie in this set, I guess it's possible they could try to set up the scene where he's popping out of the AT-ST, in front of Han at the Bunker, instead of the Driver in there, though that'd be even more lame.  Again, not what I'd want to see here, so hopefully that's not the case.

Do you guys really think the AT-ST Driver is still coming with this set, or is the one we got the early pic of (on the prior page) actually the one from the Hoth set?  If there's not AT-ST in the Endor set, it seems that'd make the most sense that there's no Driver for it in this one, right?

That said, I'm assuming we'll see the Bunker, two Speederbikes, and one Ewok Glider.  They haven't made the Catapult in the modern line, have they?  While I'd love to get one of those, Hasbro's definitely not going to be making a new one just for this set.

And considering the crazy number of figures in the Hoth set, I'm guessing this one will be similar, and include Paploo (on the Bike), 2 Scouttroopers (1 on the Bike), 2 Stormtroopers, Chewie, Han, and an Endor Trooper (maybe the exclusive one from the ROTJ Tin set).  I'd rather not get another Chewie in this set (another Ewok would be better), but I guess it's included based on the pix we got.

That'd be pretty cool to get all that stuff in there for a price similar to the Target Hoth set.  I rather doubt it though, unless this set is going to Target as well (hopefully).  Can't wait to find out!

118
Yeah, it's a bunch of rehashes, and the AT-ST is still not quite accurate, but for the $50 price tag that's apparently been confirmed now, this is one helluva bargain.  You're talking a $30+ vehicle ($45 originally at TRU, IIRC), a $5 - $10 Turret, three $10 - $12 vintage figures, and five $6 - $7 basic figures (including a nice Luke kitbash)...  That's $95 - $126 worth of Hoth swag for the bargain basement price of just $49.99!  Not bad.  I'll definitely be picking several of them up, assuming they're easier to find than the Shuttle was last year (which I pulled off a stock cart, but NEVER saw on the shelves).  So kudos (from many of us) to Hasbro and Target for teaming up on such a great deal for folks here...

As for the lack of an update to the AT-ST, I'm guessing they're trying to squeeze just a little bit more out of the older POTF2 mold for this vehicle, before finally looking into updating it to something a little bigger and more accurate in the next few years.  Hopefully.

I've only seen his ship once - when I bought it several months ago, but I just saw another one at Target a day or two ago so I can try and grab you one if you're still looking.

Nah, don't sweat it Mike, but thanks for the offer.  Not quite worth the added shipping, so I'm hoping one of the local SoCal guys can dig one up for King and I at some point.  Sounds like that may have already happened yesterday, actually, so we may finally be wrapped up with this elusive sucker.  Perhaps it is reshipping in some newer assortments.

Interesting that Hasbro wasn't nearly as apologetic in that SSG answer about the insane number of repaints they've done lately, as opposed to how they were at C4 and SDCC earlier this year when they accepted full responsibility for sending this line down the toilet lately, and begged collectors to stick around until 2008 when more new molds would finally be added back into the line.

120
Several months later, I'm finally getting around to ordering my case of these.  So does anyone actually have the 1-800 Disney Delivers phone number, or should I go hunting for it?

The bases are really cool and they sure look like they connect with each other, but I dare not open them for the price I paid.

So what was the final word on this from anyone who may have opened their set up?  Did they connect, or not?  Seems we've got several people suggesting both sides to that debate in here...

If anyone by chance has an extra base (opened) that they don't want, I'd gladly buy it off you for $6 (or trade for it).  Holler if you do!
