Toy Reviews / VOTC Boba Fett
« on: February 11, 2006, 01:52 AM »
Okay, lets get started.

This figure of Boba is my favorite so far, but then again I havent gotten the SAGA2 version yet.

Paint:  4/5
The paint applications on this figure is stupendous!
Hes got the battered armor, the small insignia on the right side of his armor.
The colors are pretty much perfectly matched up to the movie.
The paint application was very well done and it was crisp.
It got a little sloppy on the wookiee braids but a figure cant be perfect.

Articulation:  4.5/5
This VOTC Boba Fett is the most articulate of them all so far.
He has ball jointed elbows, swivel forearms.
A swivel waist, articulated hip and Ball Jointed knees and ankles.
He also had ball jointed shoulders and head.
The only part that could take away from his articulation is the "hoses" on his right arm but it adds to the detail.

Sculpt: 4.5/5
The sculpt is dead on but it has its down sides, like for instance Boba seems shorter when compared to other figures.
Its not that much of a let down though, hes still got a perfect sculpt and wonderful articulation.
He really is great though.
They captured Boba perfectly to every detail.
A big plus is also the addition of his soft goods cape, it doesnt get in the way of his jet pack and it doesnt restrict articulation.

Accesories: 3/5
- 1 Mitrinomon Z-8 Jet Pack.
- 1 E-33 Sawed off blaster rifle.

He doesnt have all too much, then again he doesnt really sport much extra accesories with him.
The two pieces are very well sculpted and the jet pack has a wonderful paint job on it.

Packaging: 5/5
Probably the best packaging on a toy I have ever seen.
It comes with a vintage card back and small bubble.
It is then sealed in a plastic case that is taped shut.
The packaging is wonderful.

Overall this is a great figure and is a wonderful addition to any collection.

Thanks for reading.  :)

The Prequel Trilogy / Clone Trooper Organizer JD.
« on: January 31, 2006, 04:43 PM »
Well I did it on FFURG so I'll do it here too.
I noticed most people ask what Legions the clones are in or who the specific clones are so here we go!  :)

ARC Troopers(Advanced Recon Commando's)

When the Republic needed a specialist clone unit they called upon the ARC's.
They would go behind enemy lines and takes them out from behind.
It wasn't really fair fighting on the Republics part but the Seperatist's never faught fair either.
The ARC's wore standard phase 1 armor but had a few additions.
Such as a shoulder pauldron, a kama a long distance communications unit on thier helmets.
They also had blue markings for lieutenants and red for captains.

ARC Pilots:

The Advanced Recon Commando pilots, also known as ARC pilots, were specialized ARC troopers trained to perform aviation. They flew specific ships, such as ARC LAAT gunships.

One such pilot flew the ARC gunship during the aftermath of the Battle of Hypori to rescue the surviving Jedi from the battle.

Phase 1 Armor.

With the outbreak of the clone wars, the clones would be the seperatist's greatest adversary would finally be able to fight back and in great numbers.
However, they still needed armor for these troopers.
All being Clones of Jango Fett, he would obviously have some part of contributing to the creation and design of the armor.
being a mandalorian at first he wanted them to resemble his past brothers at arms.
It was very uncomfortable for them to sit down also, the Kaminoans had miss understood human anatomy and made it in such a way it would be hard and uncomfortable to sit down.
Thier Officers wore color coded armor.
Yellow: Commanders
Red: Captains
Blue: Lieutenants
Green: Sergeants
White: Soldier

Lancer Battalion:

The Lancer Battalion was a division of the Grand Army of the Republic made up of lancer troopers.

The Lancer Battalion was used occasionally against the Separatist's IG lancers. They were particularly remembered for their part in the Battle of Muunilinst in the early months of the Clone Wars.

Pilots (Phase 1):

Bred on Kamino and especially trained to fly mainly any sort of ship, they rained down laser fire on droids from thier craft during the battles that took place during the clone wars.
Thier helmets were specialized with rebreathers.
The Pilots were white armor with yellow helmets and the engineers had the colors of a Commander but with a pilot helmet.

Scuba Clone:

The scuba clones wore special armor that looked strikingly like the original phase 1 armor but with air tanks.
They had black markings on white armor.
They also used rocket packs to move faster in the current.

Phase 2:

With the war against the seperatists coming to a close the clones had been given new armor, It was easier to sit down in and it had a long range communications antena built in but not visible.
There were also different kinds of armor in phase 2.
The clones begin to paint thier armor accordingly to Legion.

Clone Jet Trooper:

Soon the clones were launching air borne attacks on the droids.
They had hulking jet packs and painted thier armor according to thier assigned legion.

Shock Troopers:

Assinged to homeworld security and under direct control of Chancellor Palpatine, they were 1 of 2 legions born on Coruscant in underground cloning chambers.
They were born with the other legion, the 501st Legion.

Galactic Marines:

The Galactic Marines were under the command of commander Bacara.
They were the elite legion.
They also earned a fierce reputation as one of the Republics most feared infantry unit.

Blaze Troopers:

The Republics close combat fighter, they wore heavy armor, a jet pack, they also had a plasma thrower on thier gauntletit wasnt long before they were refered to as space troopers by the public and they were assumed to be one and the same.

Parjai Squad.

Under the command of Commander Cody, the 7th Star Corps was an attachment of the 212th attack battalion.
They specialised in air borne offensives and wore specialized rebreather helmets for high atmosphere flight.

Clone Pilot(Phase 2)

With the new infantry armor out the fly boys needed something too.
They were given lighter jump suits with a flight helmet that was open faced so the clones head was visible.
They had flight gloves and boots also some small piece of chest armor.

501st Legion:

The 501st wore standard phase 2 armor with blue markings, also known as vaders fist.
The troopers of th 501st destroyed the jedi temple and everyone inside in mere hours.

327th Star Corps:

Ever since their debut at the Battle of Geonosis, the 327th Star Corps has arguably remained the most active unit in the whole of the Grand Army of the Republic. The troops of the 327th Star Corps were distinguished by striped yellow markings running the length of their armor.
They also adopted the ARC Troopers Kama and shoulder armor.

91st Reconnaissance Corps :

Reconnaissance Corps was a corps of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Comprised of divisions of clone troopers and BARC troopers, the 91st Reconnaissance Corps was led by Commander Neyo. The identifying marks of the 91st were small red circles with a white sword pointing upside down running across them. To protect their commander, 91st's lieutenants wore, like Neyo, a specialized helmet very similar to those of clone assassins that gave them a more sinister look.

Sky Corps:

This Trooper in standard phase 2 armor is part of the Sky Corps.
He looks similar to the orange 212th legion.

Shadow Troopers:

The Republic Shadow Troopers were an elite group of clone espionage units that would go behind enemy lines and collect data and information on them.
They wore black and grey armor with a blood red visor.

9th Assault Corps:

The 9th Assault Corps was a Grand Army of the Republic division under the joint control of Clone Marshal Gree and Senior General Luminara Unduli. The 41st Elite Legion was the corps' preeminent division.

212th Attack Battalion:

The 212th attack Battalion was a unit of clone troopers and clone commandos under the leadership of Commander Cody. Troops of the 212th Attack Battalion were distinguished by the orange markings on their armour. The 212th Battalion sometimes worked in conjuction with a second battalion. It was attached to the Third Army.

Clone Assassin:

One of the many forms the ARC's would evolve into would be this one.
With the growing number of dark jedi the jedi order even needed help.
With the best technology and equipment the assassins were ready to take on any force sensitive being.

Clone Commando's:

Much like the ARC Troopers, these troops would do basically the same work but to a very slightly lower extent.
They came in groups and one specific group of Commandos was Delta squad.
On thier first mission on Geonosis they had eliminated Sun Fac.

Clone Commanders:

Rykrof Enloe: (CHEWIE's guy  :) )

Born on Naboo Rykrof is one of the few non clone commanders at the begining of the Clone Wars.
He was a officer at first bu then appointed as a corporal in the grand army of the Republic.
He led many victorious campaigns over many battle fields.

Commander Deviss:

Commander Deviss was falsh trained as a captain and stationed with commander Bly in the 327th Star Corps.
He soon made the rank of commander.
He wears armor with red markings, macrobinoculars, shoulder armor and a Kama.

Commander Gree:

Clone Commander 1004 (—19 BBY), also known as Gree, was a clone trooper commander that led the 41st Elite Legion along with Senior Jedi General Luminara Unduli during the height of the Clone Wars.

He was killed during order 66.

Commander Appo:

Appo was the leader of the 501st legion or Vaders fist as known across the galaxy.
Him and his troopers had blue markings on they're armor.

Commander Keller:

Clone Commander Keller was a clone trooper commander who served under Jedi General Kai Hudorra as leader of a special division of clone cold assault troopers in the latter days of the Clone Wars.

At the onset of the Outer Rim Sieges, General Huddora and Commander Keller were sent to the frigid Rim world of Toola to combat recent Separatist incursions into the area. When Keller received Order 66 direct from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself, Keller and his troops moved against their Jedi commander. But when Kai Huddora slipped through his fingers and made for Ithaqua Station, Keller made tracking down the fugitive Jedi his top priority.

To keep Huddora from slipping away a second time, Keller had his men place Ithaqua Station under martial law, forcing strict curfews on its inhabitants. Despite all this, however, Huddora managed to elude Keller's patrols and boarded a transport bound for Coruscant.

Commander Bly.

Commander 5052, designation Bly, was a clone trooper commander in the Grand Army of the Republic and fought alongside General Aayla Secura.

Bly commanded the 327th Star Corps during the Clone Wars.

Commander Bacara:

Clone Commander 1138, nicknamed Bacara, was a clone trooper commander assigned to General Ki-Adi-Mundi of the Grand Army of the Republic.
He led the Galactic marines.

Commander Neyo:

Commander 8826, nicknamed Neyo, was the clone trooper commander of the 91st Reconnaissance Corps in the Grand Army of the Republic.

Neyo was identified by the red markings on his armor, which was similar in appearance to that worn by the elite clone assassins, and an ARC command sash over his chestplate.

Commander Cody:

Clone Commander 2224, nicknamed Cody, was a clone trooper commander assigned to General Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The leader of the 7th Sky Corps and the 212th Attack Battalion, 2224 was a loyal and competent soldier who always followed his orders.

Alpha-17

Alpha, as was the case with the rest of the ARCs, first saw action with the Separatist's invasion of Kamino. As the Confederacy's droid forces pushed towards the heart of Tipoca City, the Kaminoan Prime Minister, Lama Su, activated the ARCs and authorized their deployment to hot-spots across Kamino in a last-ditch effort to save the planet's precious cloning facilities. During the fighting to push the droids from Tipoca's central armory, Alpha hooked up with the Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Obi-Wan Kenobi. When the city's clone stocks became comprimised, Alpha rigged the lab to self-destruct, much to the dismay of the Jedi. Remarking, "They grow up loyal to the Republic—or they don't grow up at all," it was clear to the Jedi that they were not dealing an average clone trooper.

Captain Fordo:

Alpha-77, known as ARC-77 and more commonly known as Fordo, was an ARC trooper captain in the Grand Army of the Republic who led his squad, later known as the "Muunilinst 10", into battle during the Battle of Muunilinst during the Clone Wars.

After the end of the Battle of Muunilinst, Kenobi sent Captain Fordo and a unit of ARC troopers to Hypori to rescue a doomed Jedi squad from the clutches of the dreaded Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies, General Grievous, on the planet. He and his men succeeded, driving the droid commander away.

For his great efforts, he was awarded the Chancellor's Service Medal, which he refused and instead gave to CT-43/002, a fallen member of the Muunilinst 10. He was given Jaig eyes, bestowed to clone troopers for particular acts of bravery.

Later in the Clone Wars, Fordo helped defend Coruscant during the Battle of Coruscant. His position was being overrun by the droid army, and he was ordering a retreat when Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu came to help.

A New Order:

With the fall of the Republic the Empire rose from the clone wars.

Stormtrooper

Stormtroopers were the elite shock troops of the Galactic Empire, fanatically loyal and answerable directly to Emperor Palpatine.

Formed into the Stormtrooper Corps, stormtroopers operated alongside army and navy units, as well as alone.

Sand Troopers:

A sandtrooper, or desert trooper, was an Imperial stormtrooper equipped with modified armour and equipment to withstand the harsh climates of desert planets like Tatooine.

Scout Trooper:

scout trooper was an Imperial stormtrooper that had been specially trained for scouting and reconnaissance.

Scout troopers wore specially modified lightweight armor with greater flexibility than standard stormtrooper armor, and often used light repulsorlift vehicles such as the 74-Z speeder bike in the course of their duties, earning them the nickname "biker scouts". Although not wearing the best camouflage for a forest/jungle environment, unlike their Grand Army of the Republic predecessors, the scout troopers made up for it with speed and flexibility on a speeder bike.

Sea Troopers:

Aquatic assault stormtroopers (also known as seatroopers or aquatic troopers) were a special branch of the Imperial stormtroopers. They were used by the Galactic Empire to maintain a presence on the many aquatic worlds under its rule. Many of the machines used by the Empire were modified for aquatic use, including TIE fighter boats, wavewalkers, and AT-AT swimmers.

Blackhole Troopers:

The Blackhole stormtroopers were specialized Imperial stormtroopers, under the command of Agent Blackhole. Their most distinguishing feature was their all-black armor—a stark contrast to the typical white armor common to other stormtroopers. This unique black armor provided some stealth benefits, which resulted from the stygian-triprismatic polymer material used in the production of the armor.

Storm Commando's:

The storm commandos, also known as Imperial commandos, were an elite branch of Imperial stormtroopers that were formed by Crix Madine in response to the guerilla tactics of the Rebel Alliance early during the Galactic Civil War.

Dark Troopers:

The dark troopers were advanced battle droids that featured heavy armor, powerful weapons, and jetpacks for increased flexibility and tactical advantage.

Rad Troopers:

Radiation zone assault troopers, also known as radiation troopers or simply radtroopers, were an elite Imperial stormtrooper division. They were well equipped to operate in one of the deadliest terrain types. A lead-polymer substrate in the modified plastoid armor gave protection needed to withstand lethal Grade 5 radiation zone for several hours.

Swamp Troopers:

Swamp troopers were a segment of the scout trooper division of the Stormtrooper Corps.

These specialized soldiers were deployed to dense, swamp theaters and wore upgraded, green armor that allowed for easier operations in humid and poisonous environs. While training aided the swamp troopers in navigating the swamps, a sealed suit and bodyglove, custom rebreather, emergency floatation package and enhanced viewfinder provided a greater chance of survival in the often dangerous swamps in which they operated.

Coruscant Guards:

The Coruscant Guard was a specialized branch of the Imperial stormtroopers who served as law enforcers on Coruscant and a few other Core Worlds during the height of the Galactic Empire. Under Palpatine's issue of martial law and sweeping emergency powers, the Coruscant Guard were empowered to search any facility or dwelling, arrest any citizen, and locate and detain suspected criminals and Rebel agents. These elite troops rarely saw combat, and were instead strictly for police service.

Shadow Troopers:

A shadowtrooper was a stormtrooper-Dark Jedi soldier hybrid, created by the Dark Jedi Desann and Imperial Admiral Galak Fyyar on behalf of Lord Hethrir's Empire Reborn. The project behind the shadowtroopers was based at the abandoned Imperial listening outpost on Kejim and Fyyar's flagship Doomgiver.

Snow Troopers:

The snowtroopers, also known as cold assault stormtroopers, were an elite arctic-climate division of the Imperial stormtrooper infantry that was deployed under Death Squadron's Blizzard Force.

The snowtroopers were the result of the clone cold assault troopers under Clone Commander Keller.
