$50 over at Amazon right now.  Not a bad price on this great set.  Get them while they're hot!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: 500th commemorative figure... Vader?
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:32 PM »
So this thing is still happening?  Judging by Jedimac's list above, we're already well beyond #500.  Maybe Hasbro plans on just saying that it commemorates reaching 500 figures in their line, and that it's not actually THE 500th figure.  Or maybe they're just going to exclude the vintage era figures.

I'm really hoping this is going to be an OT version though, and not something related to ROTS, since it's possible he could have a meditation chamber in that movie too.

I guess it doesn't really matter though.  I just want to get one regardless of what they call it!  It's long overdue as a "deluxe" figure.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: 2005 Cantina Wave
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:29 PM »
Jedi Temple Archives have updated their photo archive with images of the Cantina wave.  Some pretty good, close up, loose pics of the wave.  You can also see a pic of what Dannik looks like without his his little "feelers" or probiscii whatever they were called.  Looks like some holes in the face.  Anyways, you can check out the pics at the linky above.

That's just what I was coming in here to check up on.  Thanks for the link mosnab!

But I've got to agree that those holes in Dannik's face look like crap!  They're unfortunately pretty much what I was expecting to see though, considering we already knew that appendages "plugged" into his face.  Hasbro should've offered two different heads with this figure, ala the Dagobah Luke, if they wanted to get creative with the EU crap and add those lame things on there.

Disappointing.  I'm going to have to buy an extra and putty those holes in I guess.   :-\

I'd like to see these:

1. Hermi Odle
2. Yarna
3. Ak-Rev
4. Ewok 2-pack of Chief Chirpa and Lumat
5. Imperial Dignitary (the vintage version)
6. New Spirit of Anakin (Hayden)
7. Klaatu (vintage Jabba's Palace version)
8. Sergeant Doallyn
9. Ishi Tib (with correct JP outfit)
10. SA Biker Scout

Watto's Junk Yard / Any green thumbs out there? Go plants!
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:14 PM »
I've always loved having lots of plants in my homes.  Really seems calming to surround yourself with fresh, green plant life.  Pain in the ass having to water them all the time, but it's really worth it as they provide a breath of fresh air around your living environment, literally and figuratively.

But I have a question for any other green thumbs out there, which I've never really been able to figure out.  What does it mean when the tips of the leaves turn brown or start dying?  Does that mean I'm overwatering, underwatering they're not getting enough sun, or getting too much sun?  I've tried to remedy it any number of ways, but several of my plants just don't seem to want to cooperate.  Oddly enough, the rest of those plants aside from their leave's tips seem to be doing just fine.  Any insight would be appreciated!

Not a big fan of dealing with outdoor plantlife though, like flowers and such.  I leave that up to my fiancee to pretty up the front and back yards.  So who else loves their plants?  Or am I just a freak?   :P

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Star Wars on ESPN, and Target too!
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:03 PM »
Not sure if anyone's already discussed this here yet, but there's also a great Star Wars commercial coming from Target real soon too.  Vader and Heidi Klum star in it.  Funny stuff!

You can catch a preview of it over at theforce.net here.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Happy Turkey Day!
« on: November 24, 2004, 02:59 PM »
Bump.   ;)

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

My fiancee and I are heading over to her family's house for the usual festivities: Turkey, naps, football, etc.  So what's everyone else doing this year?  Hopefully you aren't having to travel too far, since it looks like many of the airports are already running seriously delayed.  Busiest traffic day of the year is today also.  Fortunately for us, we've just got a quick 20 minute drive to where we're going.

Not much new Star Wars stuff out right now, so I think I'll be laying low on Black Friday, and let the ladies in our family handle all that insanity!

What's with Shaq going 5-8 shooting for the Heat tonight, while his no-name teammate Haslem somethingrather goes 3-17?  That's a little odd, especially with Miami taking the loss to a rather pathetic Blazers squad.

The Wolves got knocked around by upstart Seattle tonight too.  What's with the Sonics this year?  Someone needs to tell them that they're supposed to suck, because I don't think they've gotten that message yet!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS carded figures
« on: November 24, 2004, 02:48 AM »
Can't say that I'm too excited to see the action features making a comeback, but at least they look a little toned down from the Ep. 2 initial release.  The poses all look more neutral as well, so that's a plus.

More rockets on R2?  Battle attack mode?  What's that all about?  Is R2 finally going to kick some ass in Ep. 3?  That should be interesting to see.

Nice to see the SE Clone's body making a comeback too, but I know a lot of people would still love to load up on those with the Ep. 2 version of the Clone as well.  Hopefully Hasbro sees fit to put plenty of both versions out in the future!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Jedi Council sets 3 & 4
« on: November 24, 2004, 02:44 AM »
Wow.  Very nice looking shot there Nataku!  I've got to agree with JediMAC that it looks even nicer without all the extra standing figures.  Almost good enough to make me change my mind and consider buying the last 2 sets, but I can't bear to pay that much money for a couple pieces of flooring, and 6 piece of crap figures.  I'll have to think about it, but thanks for the motivation!

Funny, but I just saw a special on Jenna on cable sometime last week.  Therefore, I know I've got a lock on which one she's nekkid in.  PM coming at you Mr. Smiley!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Silver Vader Part 2!
« on: October 29, 2004, 08:40 PM »
So who's found this thing so far?  I've been hitting my couple local TRUs, but with no avail.  Hoping to grab a nice one before the masses get to them on Sunday when the ad and promotion officially starts.  I've heard reports of it ringing up early for both $5 and $10 so far.  Hopefully they'll still be selling them individually come Sunday, since my TRUs don't have anything close to $20 worth of decent stuff to buy, in order to get a free Vader.

Still lame that they did a second Vader in the first case.   ::)

So far, for sure I'm going with these, which look noticeably better or different than their original counterparts:

Luke X-Wing Pilot
Tusken Raider
Jawas
Luke Bespin
Imperial Trooper

I'll have to see the other few in person to see if the new paint applications are drastic or improved enough to pick them up as well.  If it's just a different wash, I probably won't bother.
