I’m hoping for some TM season 3 specific accessories for the Armorer’s Forge.  The Beskar chain mail shirt is one thing that works.  I’d also like to see things like Bo-Karan’s Mythosaur pauldron, Ragnar’s helmet, and the Clan Mudhorn plate armor for Grogu.  Those would make the forge that much more of a world building piece.

Emily specifically referred to the Shriek-Hawk Team as a multi-pack and not a troop builder 4-pack.  Hasbro tends to be specific in their language, and I don’t think this is an exception.  So perhaps it’s something like the Jabba’s denizens 4-pack.

Well, the Shriek-Hawk Training Team is a group of Mandalorians from the Nevarro Covert.  Should we bump them off the list and advance the next choice?

Amazon just sent out notifications that this wave is set to ship in July.

I was not completely on board with the series when it premiered.  But the writing and the performances just drew me in.  What's great is that I'm going to a con tomorrow, and Dee Bradley Baker will be there.  I'm looking forward to meeting him (again - met at Celebration in LA), and checking out the Lucasfilm animation panel.

I just checked, and the last carded Grogu with the pram came out in 2021.  I guess Hasbro wants to keep him in circulation.

Generally, the Haslab campaigns have started within 24 hours of the announcement.

SDCC is really the ideal place to launch a campaign.  There’s less on the promotional calendar for the franchise.  And Hasbro gets loads of free promotion because of all of the collector media that’s on hand to cover the announcement and take countless photos.

Per Hasbro Pulse’s post on Instagram, the launch of the new Haslab campaign has been delayed.

I have to think there are too many high profile things on the promotional calendar for the franchise.  I’m thinking this could get launched at SDCC.

Glad to see that the Fleet Commander, Grogu, and Axe Woves are arriving today from Amazon.  I hope Mando follows soon, too.

This one is surprising that they haven't either created lots of carded random kit-bashed Mandalorians, or come out with a 4-pack.

There was so much promise when they were cranking out the Deathwatch and Mauldalorians a year and a half ago!

It seems like they're getting on a roll with the Mandalorian ranks from the Disney+ series now.  TVC now has the Fleet Commander and the Judge.  And the upcoming Imperial Light Cruiser playset is going to include a Mando Privateer.  The Black Series has started to get some generic Nite Owls, too.

Hasbro wasn't exactly super current with the source material on those TVC Mandalorians from Clone Wars.  Death Watch dates back to season 2, which came out in 2009.  And the first figures of them came out around 2010 in the Clone Wars animated figure line.  The Mauldalorians date back to Clone Wars season 5, which premiered in the fall of 2012.  And then season 7 came out in 2020.  The first we saw of them in The Vintage Collection was in 2022.  We got those three really good figures then, which was a promising step forward.  And they led to Pre Vizsla at the end of last year.  I think releasing the Mandalorian Fleet Commander now, and the Judge this summer is a significant improvement on that figure development timeline - the characters debuted in 2023, and we're getting them in 2024.  While both seem like they're repaints and retools, I think we've all become accustomed to some re-use by Hasbro.

I'd like to see Hasbro expand on the various Mandalorians.  A cool troop builder 4-pack might be the Shriek Hawk Training Squad from TM season 3.  And then there are the survivors that are discovered on the surface.  Just as long as Hasbro gives them all a serious treatment, I can get on board with releases like that.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?

I was at a Target store yesterday, and it was the first time I've been to Target in several weeks.  That was a surprise to me, because Target used to be a weekly destination for me.  Sure enough, there was no TVC in stock in the store at all, and this is one of the locations with the Disney feature section.  I'm thinking that Target is doing a somewhat significant reset for TVC, and it's likely to return - probably in time for May the Fourth.

There also seems to be another TVC preorder or two around the corner.  It seems like an announcement might be coming today, with preorders happening tomorrow.  What it is?  I guess we have to wait and see.

Very sorry for your loss, McMetal.

Like others have said, doing business with any dealer is going to come with a cost - they need to be able to make money on the deal.  That can definitely get things done more quickly.  But at what cost?

I guess the big question might be about any liabilities there might be for your brother's estate, and do you need to provide for anyone?  Being able to provide more funds for anyone that he left behind might be a greater consideration than getting rid of things quickly.  And that's a family decision.  I don't envy you having to make that.

This is a general topic that has been troubling me lately.  I'm a single parent, and I have one kid.  I have a TON of stuff in my collection.  I've been selling a lot of it off for the past 5 - 6 years, but there's still so much left.  And I do not want to burden my kid with this.  A friend of mine has begun selling off his collection, too, for similar reasons.  In his case it was prompted by dealing with the estate of a parent and all that was left behind.

I might go the dealer route for my GI Joe collection as well as my comics.  Simply because of how much there is.  I've been hesitant to start selling my Transformers, but those need to go, too.  Thankfully there's not that much of those and dealing with it might be a lot more manageable.  And my extra Star Wars?  That's been an ongoing effort that I'm going to keep working through.  And it's because I don't want to leave this overwhelming situation for someone to deal with.
