Title: ad.yieldmanager
Post by: name on September 20, 2005, 02:37 PM
do any of you have any insight on killing this particular spyware/pop up hijacker?  I have it on my home PC and it's driving me ******* nuts.

I've run Spybot, Adaware, and some other product whose name escapes me trying to kill it with no luck.

I don't know the specifics of getting rid of that one, but I suggest once you get rid of all the junk on there, use SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html). It BLOCKS a ton of ad/spyware BEFORE it can download to your system.

Ewido.

That's the third program I ran.

Hmm, not too sure I can help, but you may want to Google it and look up methods of removing it. I know that this helped me get rid of an annoying piece of spyware earlier this summer. I was able to run Ewido in safe mode (took forever to scan though, like 6 hours). If you can't find an alternative method, I'd try that.

Good luck!

That's definitely the way to go if Ad-aware or AVG or Spybot can't get rid of it.

Sometimes you can get detailed instructiosn for using command prompts to delete specific files that are harder to remove.

I wish that these types of things would somehow be made illegal...  Such bull**** that you can basically be infected online irregardless and there's no punishment for the site who's hosting such ****.
