Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers
« on: May 24, 2010, 10:28 AM »
Life!  My TRU seems to have given up on restocking TFA, but I had to resort to Scum for a hookup on Arcee.

Still no sign of HA Mudflap around here, and that one's starting to worry me a bit, what with the line relaunch coming relatively soon.  It's been perpetually out of stock at HTS.com, too.   :-\

I'm worried about him as well.  He's been out for about two months or so and I haven't found him yet.  Not that this line is popular at $30 a pop so it's kind of surprising to say the least.

There are several on eBay, but I'm not paying the $45-60 people are starting the bids off at. Hasbro really dropped the ball on this one.

There are several games where you can use your avatar. Check out the "Games" section, and find "Avatar gamers" (no not the movie game Avatar, but rather games made to use your avatar in).

There are a few card games, likes Spades, Hearts, and Poker. As well there is a Pirate game. "Booty" is in the title, though I can't recall it's full name.

I still consider "Keflings" as the king of these avatar games so far. I'm fairly certain there is a Guitar Hero game where you can import your avatar as well. Though don't quote me on that.

I hear ya. I check HTS daily, sometimes several times a day during the work week.

If I ever catch these on HTS, I'll buy a few and try to hook up other collectors. This is one of the last ROTF toys coming out right?
Also, still looking for the Red Rampage figure.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Avengers (and sequels)

There is talk that the Skrulls will be the villains in the Avengers movie. In the first Avengers movie, they will be an infiltration team, and supposed it is they who turn the Hulk against the Avengers. Then for second movie its an all out invasion of the Skrulls, but this time humanity is helped by the Kree.

I can't recall the link I read this from though.

Well this whole wave is an easy pass for me.

Yeah, those case ratios suck.  Both Obi-Wan and Anakin's JSF sold very slowly in all the stores I visited when they were out previously.  They sold, but they clogged things up for a good period of time.  I see the same thing happening here.  The Snowspeeder and Cloud Car will be gone and other than the blue Tank, the shelves will look just like they do now.

Someone at Hasbro has their head up their ass on this.

Would that be Daryl?

Slightly off-topic, but this has got to be one of the best movie figure I've ever seen...

I'd prefer the backseat of a car outfit change one...

heh heh, I TOTALLY agree. Or even the lingerie model version...

If anyone has more detailed info about the individual waves or tentaive schedule, I'd love to know.

2010 Fall Mid-Size Vehicle Wave 1 - 1x Snowspeeder, 1x Cloud Car, 1x CW Blue Clone Tank, 1x Anakin's CW Starfighter

2010 Fall Mid-Size Vehicle Wave 1, Revsion 1 - 1x Snowspeeder, 1x CW Blue Clone Tank, 1x Anakin's CW Starfighter, 1x Obi-Wan's CW Starfighter

2010 Fall Mid-Size Vehicle Wave 1, Revision 2 - 1x Cloud Car, 1x CW Blue Clone Tank, 1x Anakin's CW Starfighter, 1x Obi-Wan's CW Starfighter

All three cases should start appearing in the July/August timeframe.  There is nothing "official" for timing of other ships beyond those.

Wow, what is sad about those three waves is that Hasbro is banking more on a couple of year or two old molds in the Jedi Starfighters to sell better than the NEW vehicles in the snowspeeder/cloud car. That just goes to show Hasbro is dumping movie (and thereby core collectors) toys. It's a slow painful process that we've all been witnessing in the last year or two.

No wonder sales will be slower for movie related stuff.  ::)

Ah but then there are those avatar games that you can bring your avatar into. I'm itchin to bring mine in as a Jedi or trooper.

Kingdom for Keflings was one such game and that was a blast for how simple the game was. Your avatar is a giant in the game and you basically build a kingdom.

Some of us happen to like those little digital avs. I'll likely spend a few bucks on one of these. Really hoping for Jedi robes though. Any of Obi-wan's robes from Ep II, III or IV. ANd I'm sure there are more than a few who would like Anakin's from Ep III.

in regards to Aurra I think they just kinda said she would be coming either this year or next

I'm digging the Animated version. I'll get her, and may just get another to put with my realistic collection.

I found all of the newest wave last week or so. My TRU must have had 10 cases worth of them. They were extremely easy to find. I even picked up 2 extra Guardsmen.

134
...

That would just be good business sense. So the conclusions you could draw from that are:

3) The endcap was optional based on store stock and the amount of space already dedicated to Star Wars

Were there truly a plan to have an endcap, I'd say this is the most reasonable option.

I only went to one and they did not have the endcap. IN fact they had no TFU stock on the pegs, be that the wave or packs. Granted though, I did get two sets of the packs and a complete wave from this store just a day before. So maybe I depleted their stock?

Man, if that's the case, that's pretty sad. I thought Hasbro makes a minimum of 50K of each figure to justify the cost of tooling, R&D and of course to make a profit. So if TRU's are only getting one or maybe two cases of this wave, then indeed Hasbro has cut way back on the production numbers.

I just know to buy them when I see them, regardless of sale or not.

135
Are these showing up pretty much everywhere?  The only TRU near me is being renovated right now and they aren't really stocking much.... I don't know if they just haven't gotten them in or if they might not get them at all.

Out of the five stores I've hit in the last three days, only one has not had them.

All four of the others has had them and in varying degrees of glut - in other words, they weren't hard to acquire. I picked up five sets (so 10 pieces) between two store visits w/o any problem - I was actually shocked because I thought that with the BOGO going on right now, two box sets for $45 + tax which got you 10 figures would be selling like gang-busters, but I guess it all comes down to the characters in the packs. Most parents (and kids) aren't gonna know who these characters are.

Pete, I think it has more to do with the fact that they just came out. (And you snagged them all up, LOL) Granted people can't get that deal now, but 5 figs for $30 is still a decent deal compared to single carded figures.
