Imagine the trouble THIS image could generate:

I'm thinking that board in the back should have a list of the banned, suspended, and otherWISE disenfranchised.  ;D

(Or maybe a priority list of some kind, with the forums coming in dead last.)

I thought his son did it.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: RIP President Reagan
« on: June 14, 2004, 04:31 PM »
I have two questions:

1) Is Reagan in the ground yet? I'd really like to see what else is going on in the world, but I unplugged my TV last week after getting sick of seeing his death covered as "news." It's not like foul play was suspected. (Or was it? I'm out of the loop.)

2) How many Democrats does it take to push a Republican ex-President out of an airplane?

No.

I prefer Andy dead. The world is a better place without him.

"C2?" Never heard of it. Sounds like crap. In fact, I'm sure "C2" means "Crap, too."

I'd like the ORIGINAL Coca-Cola™ classic back, please. (And NO, it's not that stuph they label "Classic" today. I'm talking about the GOOD stuph they marketed before that "New" Coke fiasco. I'm not stupid enough to fall for that bait & switch tactic.)

Thirty days? That's steep. Must've really pissed someone off. Well done.  :)

I've seen images of Vader from Episode III. Purists have nothing to fear. The illustration on the branding is just a stylized version of the character. Think of the "Vader in Flames" icon developed for the TESB crew patches. That's as far as the artistic license goes from what I could tell.

As a Batman figure collector, I may have to break down and buy the Silent Bob figure from Mallrats.  8)

When are the sneak preview figures supposed to be released? Depending on the timeline, Hasbro might implement the new branding for that offering.

(Good job, Scott.)  ;)

Isn't there already a 'scum-bashing thread around here? Let's close this one. :P

I have't posted a lot on Scum lately for a number of reasons some of them being Greg(g) and Greg(g) Jr but I enjoy the stuipdity of they fights they have.

Okay, who's "Greg(g) Jr?"

I haven't been to the RS forums in quite some time. Before I left I instigated some of the rules there but didn't care for the way they were (or weren't) being enforced. Too many absentee mods for my taste and powermad vigilantes who don't understand the rules they do have enough to adhere to them themselves.

I guess that's why I like JD; the consistency in moderation. It's really friendly, by design, by reputation, and by example.

GH is a different animal altogether. The BHC is like a favorite shirt; worn but comfortable. If I had to compare the three boards I'd do it like this:

BHC = VH1 (mostly the stuph I grew up with)
JD = MTV (the beat of the modern collector)
RS = Nickelodeon (juvenile content, mostly a place for kids)

(Or maybe the BHC is my sit-down diner, JD is my favorite fastfood drive thru, and RS is frickin' Chuck E. Cheese's. I don't know...)

I'm going to ask around when I get to the office. I skipped out on a Lucasfilm cocktail party during the Licensing Show where I'm sure more information was given out. Some colleagues of mine went. I'll try to get some info from them.

My guess is that since this new style guide is reaching licensees just now, depending on what product is being manufactured, this design could be incorporated by January '05.

Kubricks / Re: Kubricks and Minimates

Saw an interesting post by an Interesting poster wondering aloud if Marvel is looking to get in the Block Figure game and might not renew the license on Minimates.

I read that, too. He's full of it. Don't believe a word he says.

Hey, how 'bout that Frank Miller Wolverine! That came out of left field, huh?

It's definitely getting warmer. (No pun intended.)

And let me clarify that I have NOT seen Hasbro packaging, just Lucas Licensing's images from their style guide. This is the same guide every Star Wars licensee will use to package Episode III and other saga merchandise.

For those interested, the collector's packaging remains relatively unchanged. The upscale branding used by licensees like Master Replicas will retain its simple gold on black trade dress. Very classy.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The new Batmobile.. thumbs up!

Again, Space Marines should be cruising in it, nto Batman.

Weird...  Oh well though, Batman's a lost property to me.  Toys suck and so do his movies.  :(  Too bad he's not getting the same care Spidey did.

If the first half of the script I've read is any indication, Batman IS getting the Spidey treatment (minus the Power Rangers villain masquerading as Green Goblin).

The Tumbler WAS designed for Marines. I can go into specifics, but I might be going into spoiler territory. I know if I decided to become a millionaire vigilante and had this in my Applied Sciences Department, I wouldn't feel the need to overhaul a Lincoln with Batfins instead.

And keep in mind, those specs are for the real-life vehicle, not its movie counterpart. While the wheels may not be bullet proof for practical filming purposes, I doubt the movie specs would allow for such an easy target. We'll just have to wait for the DK book to be sure.  ;)

So what license stops AA from making 3" Marvel figures?

Toy Biz is offering those dumbass, die-cast, 3-inch figures through Target. That's what kept AA from offering 'mates at the 3-inch size.
