Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in Stormtrooper Disguise (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=6646&utm_source=news-scroll)
Nice, going to cost a bit me thinks. May 15th is going to be busy on the net. ;D
-
I am sucker for exclusives so i will order them. I agree expensive day between these and the Matty figures that go up for sale that day.
-
I will at least pre-order them.
-
I expect a $250 pricetag on these.
-
Wow. Those will be pricey.
-
Hmmmm. I'll be at the show, so I might be interested. It'll depend on whether they're sold separately. I'd really like the Han but the Luke looks like ****.
-
Han is okay, Luke looks like one of Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes extras. Larger photo might be nice. I might pre-order, but with Han in Carbonite, Darth Vader, and Lando coming relatively soon... I might have to say pass.
-
You can check out a closer look at the Han & Luke 2-Pk in the May 5th Edition Of Sideshow TV (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?p=6635&utm_source=news_6635&utm_campaign=news_panel) from Sideshow.
Download the video episode here (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/mp3/050509_podcast.m4v).
Both come with the standard Stormtrooper blasters w/folding stock, the helmets are detailed on the inside & do not fit the heads. They are made to hold in the hands for display. Luke also has a different belt than the Stormtrooper that holds the comlink to contact 3PO & on the back is a grappling hook, not 1 but 2. Closed & opened depending on how you display.
So far I likey. 8)
-
I'm hoping for a $150-200 range. If it's over $200, I'm out.

I will laugh if SS decides to put say a $225 price point on this set.
-
I haven't been able to pick up many of the Sideshow 12" figures simply due to the price, but I have gotten the Han Solos that have been made so far, so this set is tempting. I'm not crazy about the Luke likeness necessarily either, and I'm afraid we're probably looking at at least a $200 set here, which would probably price me out of it. I really like this line, but like some of the other higher end stuff, it would have to be all I collect for me to have any hopes of keeping up. Still kind of a nifty set though.
-
I actually like the Luke likeness myself. Nobody can ever nail Hamill's likeness it seems. It's close enought for me. I just wish SS with put a bit more expression on the Luke faces. They always make him a bit stoned or out of it. The Han likeness makes this an almost immediate buy for me. However, it will all come down to the price of couse. I can see them charging at least $200. The regular stomtrooper was $90. This will be an exclusive with 2 detailed helmets and it's Han and Luke. I can't see them going below $200.
-
I know, wishful thinking on my part. Unfortunately, it appears I may not be able to access the internet during the preorder period. I'm kind of bummed, but also kind of thankful I won't drop $200+ on more Sideshow. :D

Hmmm....tempting....
-
Luke actually looks pretty damn good, now... $200 was my ceiling, and it looks like I might be in town to place an order... Very tempting, indeed.
-
The non-attendee price is $199. That really isn't horrible all things considered. Last year, I had no problems getting the Aayla non-attendee exclusive. I don't think I'm going for this but it is tempting.
-
That price is not bad at all.

Good god! Let's bump the price up from $229.90 to $279.90. ::)

-
Hmmm, 2000 seems low. I am kind of nervous there won't be enough left on Friday? Oh well, $200 kept if not I suppose.
-
Well, I think I've convinced myself that they are a good buy. I'm going to try and get the non-attendee pre-order on Friday. I bet its going to be rough.
-
These are really nice - I just wish the helmets fit.

Like I said earlier, I didn't see how they were going to make much money assuming the price was around $200. $10 less at the con, but there is tax. Having it shipped for non attendees will probably be around $10. After ebay and paypal fees, $230 is just not much of a price to make a profit. However, why someone would waste their time trying to win this auction and not trying to buy it direct from SS is beyond me.
-
I'm pretty sure I'll try to get the order in, but I'm definitely conflicted about it. Sideshow is starting to piss me off with their ever increasing prices.
-
I'd really like to get these - but I just don't think I can afford it. It seems like I have to say that about a lot of Sideshow's fantastic line, but the high prices in combination with a much lower budgeted year for me personally means these will likely have to be left out. It is tempting though.
-
Well today is the day for the attendee order, good luck for anyone going to SDCC. Tomorrow should be interesting tho, everyone and their dog will be f5'ing the keyboard. :-\
Remember, you have to be a 'Priority Pre-Order' member so make sure you sign up for the news letter or you will have to wait till after the 2hr window opens.
At least 10% of each edition size is set aside for Non-Attendees; however, that percentage may change at our discretion depending on the individual license involved. Our Comic-Con Exclusive edition sizes include both Attendee and Non-Attendee allotments to make up the total number available.

Did any attendees from JD try to get these?
-
I got mine :)
-
Come on, you damn tease! More info!
-
No real problems ordering. It wouldnt add to my cart initially but after a few tries I got it. I signed on around 1:30.
-
I got mine :)
Congrats!
I'm shocked that I've decided to break my SS collecting habits and try to go for this one. I've got all the websites loaded up ready to go. Hopefully I can snag one. If not, then it must be financial gods keeping me in check.
-
The page is up & auto-refreshing for the countdown.
Good luck gang. :)
-
Got one. That was remarkable painless for me.
-
****! Out of stock! :'(
That was ******* fast! I'm on a wait list. :-\

Damn sorry to hear that DSJ. I was hoping everyone would have as easy a time as me.
-
Oh it was easy to do but just not fast enough I guess. If it was only 10% of the 2000, then only 200 were up. :-\

Is that true that there were only 200 non-attendee versions?

Me thinks yep, from the prior e-mail:
The total edition size for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in Stormtrooper Disguise 12-inch Figure Set will be just 2,000 pieces worldwide.
I am basing it on the post quote I made below.

So all in all, it went fast!
-
I actually managed to get my order placed on a dialup connection. Edition sold out in 2 minutes, about fifteen seconds. Waitlist people don't need to worry, though, I sincerely doubt SDCC is going to sell even half of the 1,800 they've got on hand. All of the extras will be converting. That's not even mentioning the couple hundred people who ordered online that will eventually cancel for financial reasons.
-

Good god man! Dialup is sooooooooooooooooooooo last century! :P
I hate you! >:( :-*
-
I actually got it pre-ordered. I went with the Flex Pay option. I assumed they would end up going pretty quickly. So, my booty was in front of computre a few mins before 10am.
-
Good god man!
I still live in Alabama.
;D
-
Whoot! A good news e-mail from Sideshow, my wait list reservation will be converted to an order in 2 days due to recent cancellations & credit card declines.
Now I'm a happy camper! (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/froehlich/a035.gif)

Congrats. It was worth the effort afterall.
-
I told you it'd convert! A lot of people are canceling because folks are finding out that Sideshow has been deceptive in projecting Luke to be shorter than Han. They're the same height. I figured they were, anyway, but it is annoying that they've basically lied about the scale.
-
I got my email notificaiton on the processing of credit cards for non-attendees by July 6. I guess I need to determine if I really want these!
-
I canceled.
-
They're kind of expensive and not really in scale.
I would've bought them if they had removable helmets, but that seems impossible.
-
Ive seen them and there pretty cool
-
Yes, they're cool.
-
Luke looks a little shorter than Han in this picture on the Comic-Con website.
Or it could be that Luke is standing behind Han :P.
-
If I read correctly, these could start shipping out today.
-
Got my shipping notice over the weekend. I should have them by Thursday.
-
Let us know how it turns out... I hope I don't regret canceling!
-
Is it just me, or does Han have Benny Hill's "Look #7" on his face?
-
I received my shipping notice today, should be here this Friday. :o
-
Can someone explain to me why in Sam's hell after my parcel arrives at the local Fedex on the 23rd, gets sent out to Memphis,TN & then returned the next day for delivery? This make no sense what so ever. ???
-
Sorry man. I missed my delivery yesterday (no one to sign). I should get them today.
-
I have no idea WTF is up with Fedex here, it was on the truck for delivery at 10:50am & now it's at a local FedEx facility at 4:23pm. So much for the delivery on the 24th by 5:00pm. Now I have to wait & check tracking tomorrow & see what the site mentions. Might get it on Monday now... maybe. ******* basturds. >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
Seems like they're having some problems.
-
I got mine Friday, busted open Han quickly before I had to run out last night. I like him but I have to say the white plate army is very "loose". I don't have a Stormtrooper at all so it may be standard. I love the look on Han's face, I think its great.
Luke is exactly the same height. I think if you play with the joints there may be a way to make Han stand a bit taller.
-
That might just be a side effect of Sideshow's armored figures, Brent. I checked my CW Obi-Wan and the leg armor is kinda loose on it.
-
Mine finally arrived today, very happy with it. :)
