Running a bit behind, but I managed to get my Secret Santa gift out in the mail!

Hope he enjoys it (and the awesome ugly wrapping paper too)!   ;)

Received my gifts today from Scott and couldn't be happier.  He picked me up a Red Skull and Scorpion and threw in a Kermit, Han Solo and Greedo Kubrick (most resist the urge to get more).  Thanks again Scott!

Got mine last night as well.  Very cool, one-of-a-kind, hand blown glass Christmas (Death Star) ornament from JD's own Mr. Talented Art Guy - Brad!   8)

Too cool.  Thank you very much Brad!   :-*

BTW, a few people have mentioned to me that they're running just a little late with their gifts, so if you haven't gotten yours yet, don't fret - they'll be there soon, I'm sure!   ;)

Hey, btw, I'm gonna be posting a pic of the ornament on my art site and I wanted to ask your permission to put your full name as the owner? Or at least just first name?

Eternal slacker that I am, I finally mailed out my secret santa care package today. Since my partner didn't have any particular needs or wants, I took the liberty to spice up his existence with some "unique" items that can only be found in the South  ;)

On another note, whoever had me please don't be offended if I don't thank you immediately. I'm flying home for Christmas tomorrow morning, then am going directly from So Cal to Oregon for two weeks, so I'm not going to be home for about a month. Rest assured as soon as I get home I'm ripping open my gift and posting about it immediately!

Most definitely!  In fact, I brainfarted, and meant to tell you earlier to take pix of whatever your goodie was gonna be, so I could show it off when I get it, since I'm retarded and don't have a digital camera yet...

But please, show it off, and use my full name if you like!  Thanks again, Brad.  You rock.

Hey, that's my Death Star ornament!   8)

The picture there doesn't really do it justice though.  It's actually the Death Star II.  Most of the glass has a "frosted" surface, whereas the portions that are "under construction" (like in the movie) have been detailed by clear glass, if that makes any sense...

I probably have it kinda backwards though.  It was probably all clear glass originally, and Brad (I think) covered certain portions with a tape like substance that he wanted to detail, and then "frosted" the rest.  Is that kinda right, Brad?

Anyway, you can't really make the laser cannon area out too well there either, but it indeed is very well pronounced on the ornament, as is the trench.  Just way too cool of an item.  Hand made.  One of a kind.  I'm thoroughly diggin' it, as I mentioned to Brad on the phone earlier today.

Best of all, it actually matches the overall design of the ornaments on our tree, so Patty's given it the clearance to hang with the rest of our various clear, silver, green and red ballshaped ornaments.  That's saying a lot too, since she won't put much of anything "outside of our design theme" on the tree, especially not the Hallmark Star Wars ornaments, which have to stay secluded in the Hobby Room.   ;)

But as "Star Warsy" as this piece is (being the Death Star and all), it's got a rather subtle design to it.  So to the naked eye, it'll probably go unnoticed by most people, who'll just think it's another glass ball ornament on our tree.  But no!  There's so much more to it!  That's why I dig it.  Star Wars, but elegantly crafted in a subtle, artistic design.

Brad, you my friend, are a stud.
