I think this is potentially not such good news, as this would likely indicate that this already peg warming line will be continuing on further than had been announced previously by Hasbro, which was the end of 2003.  That probably means that it will also be at retail concurrently with the "animated" line of CW figures, as well as the regular Saga line of figures.

That was my biggest fear all along, since I think there's no way in hell the retail shelves and pegs can support 3 seperate Star Wars lines, especially 2 that will probably struggle.  That means that the distribution of the Saga line to retail could be in serious jeopardy if the CW lines are already filling the pegs.  I've even seen a number of stores in my area that have pulled the Saga line completely in favor of the CW line right now...

2004 was looking to be the best year ever.  I pray that the CW lines don't ruin the fun for all of us!

This was exactly my fear as well.  Although I don't hate the Clone Wars line, and I actually picked up the first three this past weekend...Anakin, Yoda, ARC, I definitely don't want it taking up space from the regular Saga line...especially with the figures we have seen rumored/confirmed for next year.  2004 was looking like it could be the best year of collecting since POTJ, and maybe even surpass it.  I know I am really looking forward to most, if not all, of the regular Saga offerings for next year.  That said...a few more Jedi, Dooku, etc. are great ideas for the Clone Wars line, but if this series is going to be taking up space from our "regular" figures, I'd just as soon they put an end to it now.

Also sorry to hear about your dog, my wife and I are dog people, and unfortunately, I have been through losing a pet more times than I would care to. God bless you and your family through everything.  I know how much they can definitely become part of the family.  I know our dog is definitely our "child", we are so happy to have him.

I was thinking the same thing Simdog, I'd like to see everything listed as well...plus, we might be able to figure out some more of the waves for 2004 if true.  I know I'd like to see a Dagobah wave (Luke, Yoda?), as well as an Endor wave (maybe redos of Endor Luke/Leia, more ewoks, etc.)  Anyways, great news, and thanks again Jimmy for dropping knowledge on us, I know I always keep an eye open for your posts :).

Same thing happened to me TopJedi...this line had been calling to me ever since I first saw them, but I held out...until this year.  I picked up a Rohan Armor Legolas and a Smeagol so far, but I'd like to get some more.  I'll never have as much as I do Star Wars, and SW is always top priority with me collecting-wise, and I don't have the room anyways....but this line does have some mighty nice figures :).

I was pretty psyched to see this list as well, especially with the big focus on the OT.  It would just be the icing on the cake if, as someone mentioned above, the focus is due in part to the DVDs being released next year (as rumored).  2004 would just be too great then :).  As far as the figures, I am really excited for all of these.  If they turn out as good as they could be, and in line with what we have seen already for late 2003 and 2004...I really think 2004 could be one of the best collecting years ever.  It seems like Hasbro is really listening to what we have to say, and we're getting much of what we've been asking for over the years.  I know many people despise resculpts of the main characters, but honestly, the versions they are supposedly releasing are ones I have wanted for awhile...Hoth Luke, Jedi Luke, Bespin Leia, Dagobah R2, Skiff Lando, and especially Endor Han.  I've kind of been wanting a non-buff version with a nice trenchcoat...that was my favorite vintage figure as a kid.  Plus, all of the other figures/vehicles sound great too...Ozzel, Lobot, Pablo Jill, Wookie Senator, Ewoks w/ catapult, so much to list.  I really hope that most of this turns out to be true, my wallet's going to be suffering next year if it is though :).

Thanks for the advice HMI, I was kind of leaning towards that version as well...plus hopefully the ROTK figures will be a little easier for me to find, since I'm playing catch up.  I've been thinking about getting the PF Aragorn as well, seems to be the best so far from what I have been seeing/hearing.  Hopefully I can find one or both this weekend :)

I was curious, I was hoping to pick up a Gandalf (or Aragorn) next...and I was wondering what the differences were between TTT Gandalf, and the ROTK version.  I've seen pics of the Two Towers one, but nothing really of the new release.  I was wondering if one is better than the other, if they are about the same, or any other opinions you guys have on them.  I hope to just get one version of each character for now, so I guess I'm looking for which one is the best.  Thanks for any advice.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Opinions on Infinities?
« on: October 9, 2003, 03:07 PM »
I was curious what any of you comic readers' opinions were on the Infinities series.  From what I understand, the Return of the Jedi Infinities will be starting fairly soon, and from what I have read about this series of books, they sound kind of interesting.  I thought about going back to check out the Empire Strikes Back trade paper back of these, as well as the New Hope ones.  I was just curious if any of you have them, or have read them, and if you enjoyed them?

Thanks for the link OCB.  I didn't see Roboto on that site, but maybe I missed it or it is sold out already.  I really want to get this figure, and I'm trying to hold out overpaying for it too much.  I suppose I could justify it by saying that he's my favorite character, and it could be the only one I buy...so I could spend more..but I'm sure once I get one here and there like that, I'll eventually want all of the original characters.  Isn't that how it always goes? :) I hope it will show up in decent numbers at retail eventually, but I guess that isn't exactly the motto for MOTU :).  How do you like the figure...have any pics?

From what I have read this morning at he-man.org, it sounds like the first signs of the Snake Men figures are showing up on ebay.  Zodac, He-Man, Skeletor, Mekanek, etc.  I never had Zodac as a child, but the character is pretty cool, and I like have they have updated him for the series/toyline.

I was just curious if any of you had heard this story on ESPN.  I thought you might be curious to see it JediMAC.  I'd have to say, if this happened, I might actually have to like the Lakers this year.  Its probably doubtful that it will happen, but interesting none the less:

MJ to the Lakers?

It is so nice to have some fellow NBA fans here, I always like to discuss the league.  As far as a team, I'm not really sure.  I haven't had a solid "this is my team" since the Bulls disbanded.  And for the record, I actually started following the Bulls for two years before they won anything, and decided to like Scottie Pippen as my favorite player "to be different" from everyone else that followed Jordan.  That was until Scottie got kind of different when MJ retired the first time.  Of course I've always been a big Jordan fan as well, and followed him while he was with the Wiz the last couple of years.

Anyways, to the present, I'd really like to see the Magic do well.  T-Mac is my favorite player in the league, but I don't think he has quite enough support to get it done.  Anyways, it won't matter, because I really think the West is the conference to beat again this year.  The balance of power most certainly rests out there with the Spurs, Lakers, T-Wolves, Mavs, and Sacto.  I was really hoping for the Kings to win last year, since I'm kind of a Webber fan (although not impressed with his legal troubles), but I'm starting to think they may have missed their "window".  I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big Lakers fan, but if they can play together, they could be tough.  We'll see how Kobe comes around from all of this too, I've never been a big fan of his, just seems kind of arrogant to me, but he is definitely a top notch player...and will probably be considered one of the all-time greats when all is said and done.  I also caught a little bit of Shaq on "cribs" last night on MTV, and he looks to have gotten into better shape this year, looked a little thinner...but I heard he was already having heel troubles?  I think with the Lakers, its always going to come down to the big fella.  Don't get me wrong, I think he gets away with a lot of physical play down low...but he is still the most dominant players in the game right now.

Anyways, I'm psyched the season is already here...or almost here.  I'm really looking forward to it, should be a lot of fun to watch. :)  Thanks for posting the topic!

Modern Classifieds / WTB: Santa Yoda and/or 2003 MOTU Roboto
« on: October 6, 2003, 02:21 PM »
Updated, thanks to JediMAC, I should be getting caught up with most of my Star Wars figures needs.  However, I am now looking to buy a Santa Yoda (as well as Roboto).  I did get my lightspeed pass on Monday, however, my wife and I only have a Discover credit card...which they do not accept....I was wondering if anyone out there who might not be ordering/needing all four for themselves might be able to order one for me.  I'd be happy to pay full price, shipping, etc.  Thanks for any help.  Also, still looking for 2003 MOTU Roboto, if anyone happens across one.
