Images have surfaced on social media of the Disney Parks Obi-Wan Kenobi Droid Factory 4-pack (https://www.instagram.com/p/ChCZKgtO6eU/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link). Here are the droids included in the set:
R3-T2
NED-B
Viper Probe Droid
1-JAC
In light of this news, and the fact that this line is a partnership with Hasbro, I don't think we can expect TVC versions of NED-B or 1-JAC any time soon.
-
Huh… those look oddly junky compared to everything that gets produced these days.
-
I think that looks like a pretty solid set. I will take them as Disnet Droids over TVC if it means removable limbs (especially the Probe Droid) and the ability to get them all in one fell swoop.
-
Yeah I just kind of feel like at least NED-B should have gotten the full TVC treatment.
-
I wonder why these didn't go up for order today along with all the other Disney exclusive droids.
-
The set from The Mandalorian was exclusive to the Disney Parks. I know that I never saw it on Shop Disney. I can see the potential for this set being exclusive to the parks as well.

Up until today I'm not sure any of the recent (past 1-2 years) Droid Factory sets have been put online. I don't know if it was supply scarcity, a specific edict, an oversight, or what. Two years ago you could expect most (not all) Droid Factory items would be put online, but now I'm not sure what the expectations are.

These are on eBay for $100 from Japan... we DO expect them to show up in the US right?
-
We do...Jayson says so. ;D I was really weighing those eBay listings though, too.
-
That's good enough for me. If Jayson says they'll be here, they'll be here.
I'd just hate to not buy one for $100 now and then have them get scrapped or something and have that be a $600 set overnight.
-
I took the plunge and bought this set from eBay. Thank me now, because they'll probably be on Shop Disney next week.

Have these shown up in the US parks, or did you buy it from a seller in Japan?
A neighbor of mine just went to Disney World and was on the lookout for this set for me but didn't find it last week.
-
I found a US seller that had 10 listed.
-
If it is the same seller, looks like they are down to 5. Thanks for the heads-up. I was going to pull the trigger on a seller from Japan for $72 and change; this one saves me $10.
-
So if there are a couple of US sellers at prices around $70… does this mean they’ve hit US parks and might keep getting cheaper?
-
I want to clarify that mine was $50 + ~$11 shipping (plus tax). The least expensive from Japan I saw was ~$72 shipped (plus tax).
I figure the set will retail for $40-$43 at US Disney/outlets; a little bit more at onlines like MDS Collectibles.
-
For me it was $50 + $15 shipping + tax. $70 total.
-

According to Jayson/Yakface, yes this has started hitting parks in the USA - not sure which coast though.
-
Okay cool. Thanks.
Best price I can find at the moment is about $76 after tax, with free shipping. I’m going to wait a bit longer.

For sure I know a collector who was able to pick it up in Disneyland, so at least CA. I haven't heard anything about FL yet.
-
The seller that I bought from is located in California. Almost all of these Disney Parks resellers live pretty close to either Disneyland or WDW in Orlando.

Yes. I have a friend who got one from a friend who had recently gone... he posted on the yakface Fb page.
I'm going to be in Orlando in a few weeks so I'm going to hold off to see if I can pick one up when I'm there...

I grabbed one. Nice price so I grabbed one. Figure I don't have to worry about it when I'm at the parks.
-
Seems I didn’t wake up early enough to get one this round.

One friend thinks it was taken down and will be back up at the normal price.

Ditto. Had a bunch of work meetings this morning and by the time I saw it was up, it was gone. :(
Hope it comes back soon!
-
It’s back! $44.99 this time.

$44.99 this time.
That is probably the correct price. Wish I would have snagged one at the $30 oops price but $45 plus ship/tax is better than $70 on ebay.
-
Got my shipping notice! And at the $30 price. Very nice.

That's what I figured.. I threw on another Shoretrooper set to get free shipping. Seemed like instead of spending $11 or $12, I could just pick up more troops for $30 more.

Silly question - has anyone been able to remove 1-JAC's blasters? Or are they molded on?
-
On one side, between the blaster and leg, i see a nub painted the same as the rest of the firearm. No way a painting apparatus could have that pinpoint accuracy. I think that nub is glued into a slot on the leg.
I like this set. The security droid is a surprise like for me. I might get another set once/if the c1-940 goes on sale.
-
They are glued on. But they look to my eye like they are sculpted in their holsters. I am happy to leave him as is.
-
The hands don't look like they're up to the task of holding those blasters.
So 1-JAC is on the way in The Black Series as a Walmart exclusive. I wonder how long it might be before Hasbro gets to this droid?
-
I was way more excited for this set before I had it in hand. NED & 1-JAC kind of feel like Happy Meal toys (NED in particular). I feel like Disney is using a different plastic than Hasbro on these. If we ever get these in TVC I hope Hasbro takes a different approach. Overall the set is still ok, it just felt like a bit of a letdown.
-
Agreed. Ned should have been a TVC offering.
Still should be… but until that droid model makes an appearance in some other series’ and they find a way to repaint him and sell him six times, I’m not getting my hopes up.
-
I'm really bummed that NED-B didn't come with his hammer. I'm tempted to get another Retro version just to get a spare hammer for my Disney version.
-
I only bought this set for R3-T2; anyone interested in the others?
-
I got several of the set to have some NEDs to hang around. Agreed it sucks he doesn’t have his hammer, and the bounty hunter droid’s blasters and bandolier being molded on it kinda sucks. The lack of joints on the probot sucks too… and the cherry on top was my last set I got, the NED’s foot broke off quite easily. I agree Ryan, the plastic on these feels off.
The astromech was the cream of the crop in a way. For less than retail the set is quite nice despite the gripes. For full price the set is eh. I’ll take it but it’s def not incredible. The NED is nice despite one breaking on me so easily and I’ll happily have a little force for loading cargo.
I’m sending the broken one back for a replacement. Kinda hoped they’d lemme keep it but no dice there.

If anyone missed this set and still wants it, ShopDisney (https://www.shopdisney.com/star-wars-droid-factory-figure-set-star-wars-obi-wan-kenobi-461062876444.html?isProductSearch=0&plpPosition=147) has them for $29.99 again.
