I've had every intention of making a "modern" Mongo Beefhead. :)  It's one of those bucketlist customs I've wanted to do and just never bothered with.  It was such a weird idea and design though, and I can see the modern bits working so well together too.

This is inspiring me.  Doubt I get off my ass to do it, but it's inspiring me.

That was a fun project to do back in the day.

I remember that one! The most impractical attack droid the empire had. He keeps his gun over his head but has no way to reach it.

2-1-WTF? Is his designation.

Mongo was the only one who ever inspired me to work a modern version but I could see making that with some modification for a more practical design. :). He does look evil tho.

His impracticality is what made me want to make him. It wouldn't have been nearly as fun if it looked normal. I'd have loved to have been there when the Kenner employees were coming up with this stuff. They all said, "yeah stick 2 1B's arms on it's shoulders and throw Zuckuss' (4LOM) gun in it's hands, perfect. Let's bring this to our bosses"

Though if you think about it the rebels won't see him coming. They'll say oh look an Imperial Droid but he's walking the other direction and then peripheral vision shot kills them all.

So, I was browsing Ebay the other day and came across a custom vintage Willrow Hood of all things.  I'm an occasional sucker for vintage customs, so I checked out the seller's other items and found that he also was selling the three prototype figures Nick recently mentioned.  This and the lack of anything new to buy prompted me to cut a deal with the seller for all four figures.  I present to you - Willrow, Mongo, and Imperial Attack Droids A&B.

Scott - the seller was super excited to know that Willrow's creator was a member of the MN group. I promised to show you his creation - I can bring it for you to see in person if you're planning to come to any of the upcoming meetings.  He'd be happy to make another if you have any interest in buying one.  I ended up paying $25 per figure including shipping.

I was watching those auctions. Explains where they went. Nice! He is selling another of the droid I wouldn't even try to reproduce because it'd be too difficult. I really want it but certainly not for $45+.

Too pricey.  I wonder if he would sell you that figure and another Willrow for $50 shipped.  Then you could sell the Willrow to Scott if he's interested.

Picked up a reproduction carded Uzay R2D2 for $5. That "cigarette" sticking out of it's head is just too funny not to have one.

After losing out on some really nice Droids wave 2 reproduction figs I guess the Droids bug bit me and got me to buy this. Yes they are pictures of just a box. I love a "vintage" box and the Droids stuff is especially pretty.
