« on: June 19, 2015, 12:35 PM »So it's going to be like the X-Box 360 with backwards compatibility. A few games at first as a test (glad to see Mass Effect in there) and they will add games over time. Eventually, pretty much every game will be playable.
No, it'll be a lot better than it was on the 360. On the 360 it was done on a game-by-game basis and was a giant pain in the ass for everyone involved (MS/developers/publishers), resulting in glitchy games and a spotty library.
This time, MS has just emulated the entire 360 OS on the One, so the bulk of the work is already done. All they'll really need now from publishers is approval, so most games will be able to carry over no problem. The only ones that definitely won't carry over are games that require Kinect or other hardware, like Rock Band.
Speaking of Mass Effect, it actually runs better on the One than it did on the 360.

Still not sure how I feel about the idea of standalone films but this one sounds pretty good so far. Looking forward to seeing what a Star Wars movie without all the Jedi/Sith stuff is like.

Anyone still playing this? I just got it the other day and holy jeez I'm so behind the eight ball in missing out on all the rare inserts and whatnot. Cool game though, and it's nice to have a new casual Star Wars game to play on the phone again after Tiny Death Star took a dump.

« on: April 30, 2015, 09:11 PM »Given the December release of the film, I think we're probably looking at a TFA line reveal either at SDCC or a later special event. And based on past history, I think we could be looking at an October release. And that's still 5 months away. All in all, we seem to be in thoroughly uncharted territory.
This has probably been mentioned here somewhere already, but there are some books with tie-ins to The Force Awakens set for release on Friday, September 4. Maybe that's the day the toys will launch as well? If so, an official unveiling at SDCC seems like a pretty safe bet, but I'm guessing we'll see more leaked images out of the Far East before then, anyway.
