I voted in the initial rounds of most wanted from each line, but this pairing figures up doesn't really seem logical. It should of just been the top 8 or so from each line and then a pure vote where each voter picked their favorite 12 of the 60+ winners. This pairing is awful because a few I really wanted are against each other while 2 figures I could care less about are against each other. How in the world is this NCAA type of bracket supposed to determine the repacks to be included? What is figure x gonna be chosen over figure y just because it won its pair off even though figure y  why had more votes, but was beat by figure z? WTF! >:(

I think, I will pick up the Tarkin/Stormie & Chewie/Han packs. Only thing I don't understand is why use the CommTech Stormie, but the VOTC Stormie for the Han? Why weren't both figures just made with the VOTC Stormie body? Cuz from the pictures the Han clearly has the VOTC body. ::)

Anyone seen these yet?

Recent issue of Insider had a pretty interesting McQuarrie design pic of a Royal Guard. Maybe this could be one of the concept figures for next year? I would post an image of it except I didn't buy the issue. I just flipped through it.

It was a Super Walmart, they are remodeling and resetting shelves. The new toy layout had no spot for the VOTC figures so I guess they decided to clearance them.  They had like 5 DSGs, 4 Jerjerrods, 1 Emperor, and 1 Chirpa from the latest wave. It seemed rather weird to me that the 1 army builder of this wave was the figure they had the most of besides Garindan and of course Major Bren Derlin.

Picked up two DSGs, Moff Jerjerrod, AT-TE Tank Gunner, VOTC Han Solo, and VOTC Tusken Raider. Got the VOTC figures on clearance for $5 each. Was the only two VOTC figures I saw in the store.

Clearance bins maybe? ;D

You don't have more than 4 stormies/scouts? ???

Nope, I don't have a single Biker Scout and only 2 Sandtroopers. The rest of my army consists of 3 Shock Clones, 3 501st Clones, 4 Coruscant Clones, 1 Commander Bacarra, 1 blue Bacarra, 1 SA ATOC Clone, 1 Red ATOC Clone, 2 white ROTS clones, and 2 preposed ATOC Clones. Then for support I have 5 OTC Han Solo AT-ST Driver figures with head swaps, 1 General Veers, 1 POTJ Imperial Officer, 2 Clone Pilots, 2 SAGA TIE Pilots, 1 SAGA AT-AT Driver, 1 Tarkin, and 1 Ozzel.

I have kept my army fairly small mainly because I would prefer to have all ATOC clone troopers or at least those helmets on the various styles of armor. The ATOC clone helmet is by far my favorite other than the McQuarrie Stormtrooper helmet.

Other than the figures with the ball jointed knees, I gotta say in my opinion the best knee articulation Hasbro has ever done on a Star Wars figure is the 2004 OTC Cloud Car Pilot. This figure has a hinged knee joint, but the hinge is located inside the joint and does not appear on the outer portion of the knee. It allowed the pants legs to have great detail in the sculpt without seeing the typical unsculpted hinge peg on the legs. It has got to be one of my favorite figures all time. Other than clones and Dutch Vanders with head swaps, the Cloud Car Pilot is the figure I own the most of in my collection ( I got 4 of them). I would love to have about 6 or 7 more at least. Just a shame I wasn't collecting when this figure was in stores.

Star Wars Action Figures / Spec_Spidey's Customs Updated 7/23
« on: July 23, 2006, 02:20 PM »
Here are a few pics of my first Star Wars custom other than the occassional head swap I have done. I think it turned out pretty good except the paints I used rubbed off in a few places when I put the figure back together. I guess in the future I am either gonna have to use better paints or crack open the torso and put the figures back together instead of boil & pop. Also gonna have to work on my photography. Any ways here is my Trando Mando! ;D

I used the following parts:

Torso, upper arms, waist ~ Saga Boba Fett
Head, lower arms, legs ~ Saga Bossk

Let me know what you think.

Why no Piett? They re-release Motti, which is still a decent scuplt. I would have preferred however if Motti had both arms articulated.

The Wookiee Arcade / Do you think we will ever see?
« on: July 21, 2006, 12:48 AM »
Does anyone here think we will ever see a Grand Theft Auto type Star Wars game? I personally would love an open ended Star Wars game like this. It would have so many possibilities. You could create your character's appearance. Run around Coruscant or maybe Mos Eisley. Choose to be a jedi, smuggler, bounty hunter, sith, or Imperial depending on the era used. Maybe even have just a few medium sized cities on a couple planets you could travel around. It could even use a bit of the Fable morality feature to help determine appearance based upon actions. A game like this, I could play for months or maybe even years and never grow tired of it simply because the only reason I get tired of GTA games is because I prefer sci fi settings and the repeated use of profanity sometimes gets on my nerves.
