Typical lazy Hasbro rehash nonsense.  Good grief.

Here are three figures you have already, one of which barely qualifies as an accessory, so we included him twice!

But wait, there’s more!  We included an e-web cannon that also might be old (?), a soft goods cape, owl and plastic flames.

That’ll be $75 please.

I like them.  Not overly thrilled about the Incinerator trooper set, but there are plenty of people who had trouble getting these thanks to Walmart.

In their defense, at least it looks like Grogu has new parts in each version.  Fire-Repelling Grogu has a new head and Ahsoka Grogu looks like he has a new arm and possibly a new head.

I get the "lazy repack" angle, but it's been a long time since an e-web was available.  And both the Incinerator Trooper and the E-Web trooper sets are obviously designed to go with the upcoming Nevarro Cantina set.

Mixed feelings about these.  It's a positive because of the return of a Deluxe assortment.  The choices for this rollout?  They're questionable.

I really like the Ahsoka with Grogu & Morai.  But this should have been offered in the format of the TVC build-up packs, like the Sith Trooper Armory pack or the Din Djarin (battle damaged) with the Child.  It doesn't merit a Deluxe release.

The Incinerator Trooper with Grogu?  This one is borderline because the flame accessories look so large that they wouldn't fit in the TVC basic figure package.

The Stormtrooper with E-WEB was overdue.  Especially since the E-WEB has been prominently features in The Mandalorian.  And I've been a proponent of this sort of set.  This should be the standard, and there are other items from The Mandalorian that should follow, like the hover sled E-WEB from Arvala 7 or the Tusken Balista.  Hasbro went for the layup here instead of taking a shot.  And frankly, for the rollout of a new assortment / "expression", they should have been shooting for the lights with something completely new.  Even if they had included something like the carrying case that the Stormtroopers unloaded the E-WEB from would have been that extra little bit of effort that would make this set shine.

Wait...the E-Web is new, right? It looks more accurately scaled than the POTF2 one that's been stinking up our collections for years. I'm very excited about that one, and I'll buy several. The Ahsoka looks great, and I like the poncho being included.

I want the Force push Grogu from the Incinerator pack, but I don't feel like buying the pack just for him. I have like 4 Incinerator Troopers at this point.

It's definitely not the POTF2 one, but I thought there was another one within the last 10 years that had this kind of detail.  I could be wrong...

I get the pack in bit, but I don't know that I'm swayed a bunch by Grogu having a few new body parts.  He's the size of a green bean, I don't know that it's a great place to put their effort.

Ugh.  Walmart?  Really?

I appreciate the links Jeff!  Trying to add these to my list, but the current state of the listings won't let me do that just yet.

As for the $20.99 price point - do you remember the VC177 Mandalorian with Grogu being $17.99?  Because I do.  And that's about what the new Ahsoka should be selling for - $17.99 as a vintage collection build-up pack.

Echoing what everyone else has pretty much said... The sets looks really nice, but I am not thrilled at the idea of paying $63.00 for a few new accessories, and three figures I already have (or will have in the case of Asoka.) At least two of the figures are good army builders and the owl is admittingly a really cool inclusion, I always loved that motif in CW/Rebels/Mandalorian.

But, now I get to decide whether or not an owl, a squinting Grogu, some flames, and an eweb are really worth $60 to me...  ::)

I wonder if the card art / packaging above is final, or if these will more closely match the spider-set? Seems weird that they would be different since these are essentially the same thing.

I'm buying. I like the army builder / scene aspect. Price is fine. What pictures does hasbro have of the people being "forced" to buy these? Do I want an ongoing line where they produce 15 a year? Probably not. Hasbro must love suckers like me. Are we wishing the fig was all new? No figs and just accessories? Not made at all?

Post by: Muftak on December 7, 2021, 02:06 PM
I find it incredibly tone deaf that they created a Deluxe TVC line, er I mean "expression," focused on the Mandalorian, and didn't make it the venue to release a Bluurg.

I do want the cannon. I want them to figure out how to get a Speeder Bike and Scout in this expression. But what I REALLY want to see is a Darktrooper with charging station, a Ferry Droid with Boat, you know, something new that they can throw on a TVC card later.

Post by: Matt_Fury on December 7, 2021, 02:19 PM
I bet if these sell well, a Bluurg could be on the table.

Also, looking at larger pictures, it looks like the Troopers have been upgraded with rocker ankles.

They're decent to good. Would've been nice if they beefed up the Ahsoka set. I'll even settle for the rock the lamp is sitting on.

Off-topic -- loving these TVC card art. I hope Hasbro has them archived and releases a book of the images.

We shouldn’t be surprised by Hasbro taking the easy way out. This has been their MO for sometime with new lines/SKUs - first wave or two will be simple rehashes they can quickly pump out. If it succeeds they make new items. If it fails they say there was no support when it should have been obvious they shouldn’t have started with all rehashes. Rinse and repeat.

Might get the Ahsoka set for the birdie and cloak but will be a tough cost to swallow

I like them. They could do more with these, but maybe they will if the line is successful.  Think about it this way - you can get 16+ of these sets and still not pay what you would have for the Rancor...

You can always count on a Walmart pre-order to NOT go according to plan.

Like the rest of you, I'm hoping these pre-orders don't eventually get cancelled because of the goof up.

Fair point.

Is that Grogu a slightly different sculpt? It looks like he is maybe sitting down more than the VC184 sculpt.

I remember something similar when Walmart began fulfilling the preorders for the last Walmart exclusive wave of TVC figures.  There was that initial email, and shortly after that the delivery notices went out with more realistic delivery dates.

I got a shipping notice for Blonde (Ahsoka/Grogu) - Should be here 5/26 according to the tracking info.

For the other two sets, Laguna (Stormtrooper/eWeb) and Mellow (Incinerator/Grogu), I got the "Thu, May 26 - Wed, Jul 2x" emails.   ::)

I find it very funny that it looks like I'm going to get the "regular" Corvus Ahsoka from Amazon and the Deluxe Corvus Ahsoka w/Grogu within a day or two of each other despite them being pre-ordered months apart (Oct basic; Dec Deluxe).

I just cracked open my Wal-Mart Ahsoka and Grogu pack.  Overall great, but once every 30-40 figures I open I end up being stumped as to what the accessories are or how they work.  I had to go online and figure out what the little balls on plastic stands were.

Maybe I'm just a dummy, but sometimes I wish they included some instructions or descriptions along with these figures so I wouldn't have to Google a review to understand what I just got.  They already include the little paper multi-lingual warnings.  They should add a description insert where necessary too.

Does Wal-Mart not allow you to update the CC on preorders?! I went to check on mine and realized it was on my old CC before I had to get it replaced. It won't let me update the payment method on the order, even though I now only have my current card on file with them. I'll be rather upset if the system doesn't switch to bill my correct card and the order gets cancelled.

Someone mentioned a few months ago Walmart couldn't change payment method after a purchase. I wound using paypal for a few pre-orders because my cc would have expired by the expected billing date and my new card hadn't arrived.

Hopefully the other onlines' billing system isn't as archaic.

I got a shipping notice for my Incinerator Trooper and Grogu this morning.
I also got the shipping notice for the Incinerator Trooper this morning.

My Incinerator/Grogu (Mellow) set spent a long weekend (Fri-Sun) in Kansas City.  Must be taking a BBQ break. Walmart.com says it'll be delivered today but tracking info says it just left KC this morning.

Meanwhile, I got an email telling me that my Cantina Stormtrooper/eWeb (Laguna) set is now delayed until 9/1.   ::)

Same here. To be honest, the E-web stormie set was the one I was looking forward to the most. I preordered 4 of them!

I cracked open my Incinerator Trooper and Grogu.  Out of the three I was the least excited about this set, but it's actually pretty nice.  They really did a nice job with the flame effects.

I didn't get an email, but I checked the Walmart app and the Deluxe Stormtrooper is showing up as delayed for me, too.

I got an email saying my "Laguna" has shipped.  Still waiting on 1x "Mellow", 1x "Blonde" and 3x E-Webs (Laguna).

So, I'm finally getting 1/6 sets 3 months after others started getting theirs.  Love Walmart.

I've been seeing an increasing number of reports of the Stormtrooper and E-WEB shipping as well as showing up in stores.  I'm hoping the status of my order is going to update from it's delayed status soon.

I had cancelled my original preorder for the E-Web set when they recently went up as an in-stock preorder due t oShip Sept 4th. I had a change of address and this was the easiest way to go about it, plus I was *hoping* they were being factual about the Sept 4th shipping commitment.

I haven't received any updates from them either way, but looking today it shows it has been delayed.  :-[

My four arrived in hand today. Rob, I only remember the one cannon at the Navarro Cantina, but don’t quote me on that.

I’m actually pretty happy with this set. The last E-WEB I have is the POTF2 version. I honestly don’t remember if we had gotten a new version of the cannon until this set. The upgrade in really well done. Th sculpt looks great and it was pretty easy to get it put together. So far it feels pretty durable too. I plan on giving my extras to some snowtroopers. The paint apps on my troopers so far looks great. The rocker ankles are such an upgrade. I really wish I was able to preorder a few of the Wal-Mart “Collect All 96” version.  The blast effect is the same sculpt  one we got with the GG Jedi Fallen Order Heavy Stormtrooper with slightly different coloring. My only really gripe is he didn’t come with an E-11 or any other smaller arms. I’d say the hostler too, but without an E-11, he doesn’t really need one.

Overall, I am very happy with these.

They finally updated me on my order...to say they cancelled it because it is now considered out of stock.

Win some, lose some. I am pretty over collecting TVC anyway, but I really do want that new E-Web!

My E-WEBs arrived and I'm pretty pumped about these. I've been wanting one since probably right a couple years after the POTF2 one, so it's been a wait. I'll plan on setting one up with the snowtrooper, but I'm not sure if he even has enough articulation to strike the pose. I'm also planning on using one for a "rebel confiscated" version, because I like expanding on my rebel displays with some converted equipment. It's like Andor says, "to steal from the Empire...you just walk in like you belong" and bang...new ****.

I'm in the same boat with the delay on the Stormtrooper with the E-WEB.  I've seen instances with Walmart where an order gets indefinitely hung up, only to have the same item turn up for sale on the Walmart app/website.  As a result I've been clicking on the product listing.  That's where things can get a little hinky.

Just like on Amazon, the Walmart online store has marketplace sellers.  Lo and behold, there are marketplace sellers who have the Stormtrooper with E-WEB - for $53.99.  BUYER BEWARE.

Same.  Weird that I got one of the Stormtrooper sets but not the other couple I ordered.  Still haven't got the other two either.  I was hoping to cross these off my checklist before the next onslaught of preorders start coming.

I ordered one of the e-web sets. Got it a few weeks ago. Then the next day I received another. Billed both times so it wasn’t a lucky score. Didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning so I kept the second. I scratch my head how something like this still happens with the millions corporations spend on software.

For those of you who have had issues when you have had an expiring credit card on your Walmart preorder, was there zero option for you? I have been issued a new card even though my CC doesn’t expire for two more years. My card number hasn’t changed but my CVV has. I am hesitant to activate the new card since the old one will get shut down and that could hurt my Walmart preorders. Can anyone speak of their experiences? Thanks!

If it’s the same card with a new expiration date, I think it would still go through.  I’m not 100% sure on that, but that’s been my experience when getting new cards issued to me.

CVV numbers aren't actually stored anywhere. They are entered at the time of payment to help validate that the card is in hand, but the merchant (Walmart) can't actually store the CVV anywhere in their system. Those are for one-time use for key-entered transactions. Anytime you need to re-enter one to confirm the CVV, the card is just validated on the payment network again, rather than by comparing it to a stored value in the merchant's system.

As Rob said, if the card number and the expiration are the same, the transaction should still go through just fine. There are even a lot of cases where if the number on the card remains the same, and the exp had updated, the transaction would still go through. Those cases depend on the bank that issues the card though, or if the merchant uses a card updater service.

I'd think you should be fine to activate your new card.

Either way, Walmart still has at 20% chance of mucking up your order even if the credit card info doesn't change.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. Sorry for the late reply but I had actually forgotten that I posted this lol.

You all made great points. My card # isn’t changing, only the expiration date. And of course the CVV is a one time entry, I shoulda remembered that.

Of course Dave is right, there’s a good chance they will mess up my order even without this credit card change. My deluxe Stormtrooper is in limbo, who knows if I will ever see it…

On this Navarro Cantina E-Web Stormtrooper... now that I have a bunch of extras, are there other scenes they'd make sense to put one with?  At this price I'll keep just the Stormtroopers if need be, but I'm wondering if I might space them out in a way that makes sense.

The E-Web shows up again on Tython in "The Tragedy".  Whether or not it's a match for the one in TESB remains to be seen.  I haven't seen a comparison between the modern one and the version in Empire.
