Hasbro Panel confirms Darth Revan [repack], Death Star Gunner (Rogue One) [NEW], and three more figures will make up 2019 Wave 3 (targeted for July 2019).

Is it me or does the Gunner appear to have the articulation at the thighs that the 6” have?
-
Most new figs do seem to sport the thigh swivel. New ones do anyway.
Revan, while cool, is a highly underarticulated figure comparably speaking. Kinda bummed he didn't get an upgrade honestly. I should probably sell my extra one now. :P

Interesting choice to go with the Rogue One Death Star Gunner. Glad that it's not just a repack of the old DSG figure. Maybe it's just perspective, but his legs look kinda long... hope his scale works out OK.
-
The legs are... interesting on this guy. Much higher on this figure now I've seen him, though. Great choice to go the RO route.
-
Nice to see them finally get Revan back out there.
-

Well where the hell have I been? I just checked my SA Rogue One figures and they all have the thigh swivel! I totally missed that!
-
I have to admit that I feel like we could have done without a new DS Gunner sculpt. I am quite happy with the OTC version. They could have slapped that on a vintage card and I'd have been happier.

I'm *ALMOST* right there with you. The only point that I don't like about the most recent Death Star Gunner sculpt is the Clone trooper likeness. Hasbro went a little overboard with the Clone face sculpts on Imperial era troops.
But this DS Gunner does look pretty awesome.

Two new figures announced for this wave along with updated numbering:
VC146 TLJ Luke Skywalker (Crait)
VC147 RO Death Star Gunner
VC148 RO Imperial Tank Commander
VC149 To Be Announced
VC150 SWL Darth Revan

VC148 Imperial Tank Commander

Crait Luke.... want.
-
I need the Luke, two Tank Commanders, a Tank Driver and another Tank! ;D
-
Glad to see Hasbro following up with the Tank Commander. Although it's about 9 months off from now.
Crait Luke is very welcome. The timing of the release is remarkable since this figure is going to hit about 18 months after the release of TLJ. To me, that says Hasbro didn't see those Crait scenes until the movie came out.
-
Love the Crait Luke, and everything in general looks great. I'm sure it is the idea of outfitting the Assault Tank, but it is surprising how much love Rogue One is getting early on in this Vintage Collection comeback. Tank driver, tank commander, plus repacks of the Death Trooper, Jyn, Cassian, and Scarif Trooper. Not to mention that I believe the upcoming Stormtrooper and Death Star Gunner are considered to be from Rogue One as well. Pretty large percentage when we only get 16-20 figures per year.
-
We need a Crait Kylo Ren to go with the Luke.
-
Tank commander means I will have 3 tankers too many.🤔 Nothing left to do buy buy another tank for 2 of them and their eventual commander, and then another tanker, tank commander, and tank, for that remainder tanker. You see, I have no choice.

Sucks to be you.
-
Found Wave 3/2 at Wally last night and bought them all, which has to be the biggest retail haul in a while.
-
Sucks to be you.
All I can do... is take it one day at a time.
-
Like getting the Tank Commander. I could go either way with just getting one as an overall commander of my Tank group, or get four to command each of my tanks. (I don't have 4 tanks yet, but that's the goal.)

I'm thinking the same as you, while not four tanks - I currently have five open Tank Pilots - I'm hoping to score a 6th. I'm also watching sales on the tank itself. My hope is I'll be able to score 2nd and 3rd openers of the tank and then when the Tank Commander comes out, get three of him to open, so I'll have three completely staffed tanks.

You guys are seriously giving me tank envy... I might have to bump up my plan from 2 tanks to 3 just to hang with you guys. :P
-
I will probably have to get a second tank to use it as a troop transport.
-

The crates alone are awesome accessories. Having two tanks set up, one with and the other without the crates, and the crates off in a hangar diorama would be pretty cool. And that section on the deck of the tank with the access panels looks as though it's intended to have troops standing in there.
-

Can’t have an armored column with just two man. Sure you could fill in with some cheap ATSTs, but it’s just not the same. At best they’re just gonna get tripped or hijacked by adorable bears on vines. You need at least 3 tanks. That’s toy law, not mine.

We need a LIKE button for posts just like this one. Toy Law?!?! LOL!
-
Thanks, but I’m just trying to make sure Jeff does the morally acceptable thing and gets a 3rd tank.

I was thinking nearly the exact same thing. Great line. Wish I had come up with it.

I found more rangers and a tanker this weekend.
What I didn’t find and what I have yet to see on retail pegs are Aphra or Enfys Nest. I saw Luke for the first time this weekend too. I’ve found smatterings of the army builders and I have seen Han a bit with them or just him left by himself.
While that’s anecdotal stuff for sure I am not out daily looking for this stuff and in general my area is active with collecors and scalpers like any other area... when TVC came back I didn’t see the Hoth Rebel for eons and still I can attest I bought all of those I ever did see, but I’m seeing these army builders more than the female figures which is a surprise. I think Aphra is more popular than folks wanna admit maybe. She is interesting looking to me. Enfys too is a unique looking figure. I’m kinda shocked I can find the Troopers tho. A happy surprised tho.
-
Well ****, I guess I need two more tanks.
-
Am i crazy or have waves 2&3 never yet appeared at a Target?
-
Am i crazy or have waves 2&3 never yet appeared at a Target?
The only new thing I’ve found at Target in the last two months is the Mimban pack. No new vintage, no 2-packs, no nothing. And it’s not for lack of looking.
-
You are not crazy. To my knowledge no report of anything past wave 1 at Target. Same at Kmart if they’re around you. That said Walmart at least here keeps steadily putting Wave 2/3 figs out in some form or other. So there is hope. But to be fair my WM stores didn’t go ape**** on wave 1 either. They got a case and sold out of it at most stores. I only see repacks now from the new waves.
Target on the other hand is a wasteland if not for exclusives and their basic figure stock is kind of rotating the same as Walmart’s is. Their 2-pack stock is dead as TVC tho and only WM is getting new there too.
For all the **** WM takes on distribution I have always looked at Target as just as bad or even worse at times, just usually better on exclusives. They’re just more predictable and all their stores seem evenly crappy (or thriving) whereas WM can have one store completely devoid of figures, another nearby filled with peg warmers, and another that is a goldmine of new stuff.
-
Target has been beyond bad for general release stuff. The exclusives have been awesome but the rest of it is terrible
-

It's always been kind of an ebb and flow, with one of Target/Walmart having a good run while the other sucks. Right now Target is killing the exclusives while Walmart ****** theirs up so badly EE had to step in to help move product. But Walmart has been beating Target on Solo Wave 4 and TVC Waves 2/3. It's weird but it's always been a cyclical thing with one retail spot kinda being the 'hot' place at the moment.
-
Target needs to figure out how to clear their stale stock. They used to be good at marking things down and closing out old SKUs. Lately they've let things stagnant and the pegs get clogged with super old stuff.
-

As a guy surrounded by Targets but without a Walmart in sight, it's been frustrating. I used to just go to Amazon, but lately they've either not had it either, or it's been way overpriced.

There are other places to shop. (https://www.walmart.com/) :D

There are other places to shop. (https://www.walmart.com/) :D
Yeah, the only problem is that Vintage Solo is $18.75, 2-packs are $22.30, and if I can't find $35 worth to buy, there's $5.99 shipping.
If everything shows up at once that's great, but I don't know if i have the patience to check that site very day and wade through 50 listings for 3rd party sellers.
-
I’m with Jeff there’s a goofy cycle to it and this is where losing TRU hurts too because that’s one less place to look. In 07-2010 or so TRU was nuts with their sales tons of exclusives and all that stuff. Walking in and finding multi packs, scenes, speederbike sets... TRU wasn’t that way lately by any means and the line itself didn’t have things that nice either, but still one less place to Shop and compete is one less place. That’s why the “good riddance” crowd never makes any sense to me. I’ll moss Kmart when they’re dead here too. They were the only places save for Target once that I found Hoth rebels.
-
. I’ll moss Kmart when they’re dead here too.
You won't have to, most of their locations already have moss growing inside. :P

Rob,
You could try to order online and set it up for a store pick-up. It might be a way to avoid the third party sellers on the site.
Just trying to help. :D

Well played. :D
I was out and about in Cincinnati this weekend and I was in some Walmart stores and they all had wave 3 in complete sets or close to it. They also had an inordinate number of Rangers. The tanker and death trooper were nowhere to be found and once again Aphra was the least common 3 figure wirh Luke and Enfys Nest close seconds. Rangers and Han and Cassian were all plentiful.
The range Trooper really is an impressively done figure tho so get a squad if you can. It’s poseability is shocking to me and they really engineered him quite well.

Repack:

Is the R2-D2 a repack?

Please check my notes
Is the R2-D2 a repack?
Believe it or not, it is the same R2 that cost $8 in 2017 in the TLJ line, and then $10 in 2018 in the GOA tubes.
...now yours for $13.
-
I'm happy to see Rogue One continuing to get some love, but I wish it would get some main character style love (aside from Jyn and Cassian).
The 5-POA figures aren't cutting it anymore, and I really want to buy a few SA K-2SO figures. One for actual K-2SO, and a few for generic strategic analysis droids. I ******* love that movie.
-
Really need SA Chirrut and Baze figures.

Yakface (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2019/04/09/tvc-wave-7-carded-glam-shots/#more-42737) has posted some new carded shots of this wave.
Still can't believe we're getting dirty BAD R2-D2 for $13. Yuck. Hope the "give me modern versions of the 12-backs" carded collector guys appreciate that because it's a giant rip-off. At least the $8 version had the rocket boosters. :P
-
Gotta admit I’m kinda sold on that R2 Card. I love this wave. Easy case order unless the carryovers are horrendous.
-
Looks like the rumors were true and Revan is getting bumped to another wave...
Not sure why this wave is getting pre-orders but the Lando/Stormtrooper wave isn't yet? Anyway, this wave is now up for pre-order at EE now and should be up at HasbroPulse for pre-orders soon as well.
Case of 8 (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/HSE0370G?id=JE-405087801) - 2x each: Crait Luke, R2-D2, DS Gunner, Tank Commander
Set of 4 (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/HSE0370GG?id=JE-405087801) - x each: Crait Luke, R2-D2, DS Gunner, Tank Commander

Up for pre-order at Hasbro Pulse now too.
I'd love for people to support our sponsors and help the site, but I understand grabbing them with Hasbro Pulse if you've got the free shipping premium membership (that's what I just did - Luke + two gunners + one tank commander :-X).
-
Excellent. Ordered two of Luke and one R2. The other two I’m undecided on.
-
Ordered two Tank Commanders, two Lukes and a DS Gunner! Thanks for the heads up!
-
We all know that EE will move that release date a few times. When they say June, they really mean October.
-
Wonder why this wave is becoming available before wave 6?
Ordered a case, though and an extra pair of Tank commanders.
-
I just got charged $13.80, $13.80, and $27.60 from Hasbro Pulse.
The $27.60 is definitely the two Death Star Gunners... I also have orders for the Assault Tank Commander, Crait Luke, and R2-D2, so I'm assuming the other two single charges are for two out of those three.
-
I just logged into my account and it looks like I've been billed for my two Tank commanders. Glad to see things moving!
-
I’m also getting charged. Been a sorta pricey month for me.
-
Waiting on getting charged, too. It might be a little while though, because I think I got this order in a few days after the wave was listed. Between the new BS wave, this and the second BS Archive wave which should also be shipping really soon? Yeah, it's going to be a pretty pricey couple of weeks. So much so that I passed on picking up a second 6" TBS Commander Wolfe that was on sale last night.
-
Got email confirmations on which orders are shipping, it’s the DSG’s, R2, and the Tank Commander. No Luke yet.
-
My Tank Commanders are on the way from HTS. :)
-
I received my shipping notices for Luke, Tank Commanders and DS Gunner. Three separate shipping notices.
-
Got a notice from my credit card that EE has charged me for my case plus a set of this wave, so hopefully I'll have this wave soon!
-
Received my two Lukes and R2 today. Luke is pretty great, and I’m glad I didn’t wait around on these.
-

Just out of curiosity, when did you place your order with Hasbro Pulse?

I always order as soon as I know it’s up for sale, in this case that was April 15.

Ah! I just checked, and I got my order in on April 30th. There are probably lots of orders ahead of mine.

I ordered on 4/12 and got my Luke, Tank Commander, and 2x DS Gunners delivered today.
-
My Tank Commanders and DS Gunner showed up today....Lukes are scheduled for tomorrow.
The Tank Commander looks awesome! Like the DS Gunner, although he's a bit plain.
-
Just got a notice that my 2 Gunners and 2 Tank Commanders are being delivered by Amazon tomorrow. That just leaves Luke left. So anyone who ordered via Amazon, keep an eye out
-
Got mine today.
Another strange shipping situation from HasbroPulse and their FedEx fulfillment crew.
I ordered one of each figure for a total of three figures. All sent separately on the same day, different boxes, and different box sizes/designs. ??? ???
Even more screwed up than when they sent me my 6" figs last week in six different, but mostly identical boxes.
-
Got my tank commanders and gunners and Luke as well. All pretty awesome figures... little nitpicks maybe but nothing worth getting bent out of shape over. Tanker is my fav tho even tho he’s a repaint.
-
I really like the tanker too, especially since now I have two fully-crewed tanks.
Can you guys do a side-by-side with the older DS gunner? I'm trying to decide if the new one is worth it. I feel like the DS gunner doesn't really have anything to do in my collection except stand at attention in my Imperial display.
-
My Amazon order of 1 Tank Commander and 1 Death Star Gunner are delayed for some reason. :-\
-
The only figure from this wave that I managed to order on Amazon was R2-D2, and that got delayed, too.
-
My Vintage purchases have been very few and far between. I bought the Hoth Trooper last year, and a Mimban Stormtrooper when that was on clearance a couple months ago, too...I got a Black Series Jyn Erso and a Deathtrooper when I found those marked down to $3 a few years back. The trooper was alright, but I found the Jyn figure to be ugly and very GI Joe-esque. Not my thing at all.
I preordered Luke and the Gunner from this wave back in April, and forgot I had done so until they showed up at my door yesterday. I was really disappointed looking at these guys. I think I'm done with Vintage, it's just doesn't please me like the 5POA figures do. I look at Luke and think "OK, I can fix the hair and beard with paint myself" but I shouldn't have to on a brand-new, never-before-made figure. The Gunner, again, looks like a Cobra Trooper or Iron Grenadier I would've bought in 1987. Not what I'm looking for these days, the Legacy version works better to my eye.
So now I think I'll sit on these for a while and if I never get around to wanting to open them I'll flip 'em in the fall. Bah.
I was thinking about getting the upcoming three packs, but now I can't be bothererd. :-\
-
I got my set today, and though my Luke seems to be much better on the paint apps than average, I agree. I am a bigger 5 POA fan than SA, which is why i dread the possible end of that line. The new DS Gunner is a prime example of articulation gone amok. It just doesn't look right. A lot of this is seamless now, like with the new Stormtrooper, so this is curious. I've been lobbying for years for a happy medium on articulation, but Hasbro is not interested in that at all. They're doing amazing work overall, with lots of legendary figures recently like Yak Face (some of the 5 POA Solo figures, Moloch, Quay Tolsite, as well) and hopefully the QA concerns with this wave are just a blip.
-
I apparently ordered Luke from Amazon instead of Pulse, which was a mistake because I got everything else but my Luke is delayed too.
-
The DS gunner is totally new, and has the padded armor vest (basically two Sandtrooper pauldrons turned sideways and forming a vest front and back) which was how gunners looked in ANH. The OTC Gunner was just a jumpsuit guy with a removable helmet and is more as they appear in their limited ROTJ appearances. His armor is 100% inaccurate and actually is clone body armor, I think. I tend to leave it off.
The potf2 gunner, besides sucking for poseability, is attempting to replicate that ANH pauldrons vest look but it’s a shiny body armor look with no back to it really. I’m not a gunner expert to really remember how accurate that is I guess. The new gunner is also possibly more based on Rogue One than ANH but it’s my understanding this is what ANH gunners looked like too.
The potf2 and otc both have superior Helmets tho. The new gunners bucket is noticeably smaller. It’s the only real complaint I see with it. I loved the otc gunner tho and if they are cheap I still buy em.
-
Got my Luke's today. I think he's the star of this wave....just a really well done figure.
-
Yeah I liked Luke... if I have a gripe it’s his non cloth outer robe. It’s limiting what he can do significantly but I’ve always found a lack of softgoods on articulates figures to be kind of a goofy choice on Hasbros part and at the same time something fixable compared to other issues a figure can have.
For me the tanker is tops because I just loved those guys. The gunner and Luke both have ups and downs that make me not pick one over the other, even tho my OT heart wants to like the gunner more. I just don’t though. 🤷♂️ I really do like he OT. One a lot so maybe that’s it. I had this same general feeling about the ATAT driver update that didn’t matter to me much either.
Luke was sorely missing but so is an articulated version of Luke from the island as he appeared through 90% of TLJ haha.
-
I really like the tanker too, especially since now I have two fully-crewed tanks.

Not sure whether I like the 2006 TSC Gunner better or not, definitely the helmet is better. Too bad it wouldn’t work on TVC Gunner

Thanks! I'm a bit torn between the two as well.
-
I've always felt that the Death Star Gunner from the TSC line was one of the best Imperials of the past 10 or 15 years. It's going to be interesting to compare the new TVC version with the TSC DSG in person. And part of me is still holding out hope that Hasbro might make a turbo laser station for the gunner like in ANH.
-

I agree with Jesse - the 2006 Gunner seems to be the ROTJ DS2 Gunner and not the ANH DS Gunner. The removable armor was a nice gimmick but not at all accurate. This new one is based on Rogue One but pretty close to the ANH DS gunners. Since they are serving different purposes and going to be on different shelves in my collection, I'm happy with both versions.
-
I think my biggest issue with TVC Gunner is he is long and lanky. Just feels off on the proportions. Other than that the sculpt is top notch.
-
I agree, aside from the gangly, slightly off proportions, the Gunner is an amazing sculpt.
-
I thot he looked gangly too but when he was beside others he’s actually not bad. Like next to the last gunner they look good together and I think the helmet is the only thing that stands out as kinda meh to me personally.
I like it really but will have a tough time justifying buying a ton. I’ll cap it probably in the range of 6-10 maybe and that would be a stretch.
I never thot I’d get here but I’m kinda thinking they sometimes overdo articulation. To me this is one of those times. I want all figures to hit that minimum that the last Gunner had, but I only want certain figures to hit this new Gunner’s levels of articulation and he isn’t one of them. Jedi yes... but does this dude need thigh swivels and ball jointed hips? Meh.
I can’t stand under articulation more though so I’ll take it. 🤷♂️
I’m with Nick on the gunner station as well. It’s a nice thought. I’m not super hopeful but it’s a nice thought and I hope it happens.

Just got my tank commanders. Nice looking figure, but after the near perfection of the RO stormtrooper, the elbow and knee joints now seem to be a bit limited. :-\
-
Oddly enough, I got my Crait Luke from Amazon, 2 days after being told it 2 was delayed. Factoring in shipping time, I don't think it was delayed at all. It was pretty crushed, maybe the delay was more of an in-transit delay because something went wrong?

Same with my Tank Commanders and Gunner. Puzzling indeed.

This new one is based on Rogue One but pretty close to the ANH DS gunners.
Is that definitely the case? Hasbro Pulse lists it as ANH Death Star Gunner. I mean, I suppose they're basically the same timeline so maybe there should technically be no difference between a Rogue One and an ANH Gunner, but I'd been planning on putting mine in the ANH section.
-

Yep. Watch the SDCC 2018 Panel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1896&v=OugcWagrHl4).
That is why it's on a Rogue One cardback and not a Star Wars cardback. ;)
Like you said, they are Death Star Gunners (as opposed to Death Star 2 Gunners) so they should be the same between RO and SW/ANH, but just like Stormtroopers that should be the 'same', there are differences thanks to the time difference between when the movies were made.
-
Okay awesome, thanks. I was just looking at what the order said on Pulse:

Arrived! Kind of a disappointing wave in real life. :-[

And I believe the DS Gunners on DS2 have some with the armor too, in the super laser operations anyway. You don’t see any shots of them manning any other guns. Gunner shots in RO are limited but I think they all have the padded armor. Good excuse to rewatch RO again I guess.

You should never need an excuse to watch that cinematic masterpiece!

Completely agree. That movie is excellent. I want more like it.

It's amazing how different the Saga 2 and TVC DSG's are. Pretty much different characters entirely, even at close look. The only thing I really like from the TVC version is the protective vest. Spot on. Looks like you have to take the figure apart from the torso to take it off, though.
-
I’m not sure it comes off honestly. It looked like just sharp undercuts to me.

Hasbro Panel confirms Darth Revan [repack]
Looks like the rumors were true and Revan is getting bumped to another wave...
TVC Repack Darth Revan has gone from 'confirmed' at SDCC'18 to 'MIA' in Spring 2019 TVC waves to 'DOA' at SDCC'19 apparently -> via Rebelscum.com: No Darth Revan In The Vintage Collection For 2019 (http://rebelscum.com/story/front/Hasbro_No_Darth_Revan_In_The_Vintage_Collection_For_2019_184693.asp)

To be fair, it would have been a waste of a slot for VC. He wasn't that great, and has really no usable articulation below the waist.

Not to play conspiracy theorist about Revan being MIA, but....
...there have been a number of rumor circulating about the Benioff & Weiss series of movies. One that keeps recurring is that they might develop Knights Of The Old Republic into a film trilogy. Whether or not these rumors are true is unclear. Rian Johnson commented on the prospect of developing KOTOR into a film series and said that the story had already been told, so why do it again? But the rumors persist.
Is it possible that the figure got pulled because a KOTOR project may actually be in development for film or television? It's a thought.
-
If Revan is cancelled, who will fill that coveted VC#150 slot he was supposed to be tagged at?
-
Regardless of how people felt about Revan, I bet it still would have been a highly sought after figure.

True, but that's pretty much the case for all TVC figures aside from Snoke. ;D
