2021 TVC Wave 2 (New TVC Wave 17)

Not exactly sure on the number, so we'll just guess for now.  Yes, it's another wave of repacks and "photo-real" repaints.

This wave includes:
VC32 AOTC Anakin Skywalker - Peasant Disguise (repack w/photo-real update and new soft goods)
VC65 ROTJ TIE Fighter Pilot (this is a repack of one of the decos used for a TIE pack-in figure)
VC78 TPM Battle Droid (repack)
VC84 TPM Queen Amidala (repack w/photo-real update)

Unfortunately it's not a new figure.  That version of Amidala came out back in 2012's TPM wave.  It's VC 084.  It's definitely one of the better versions of Episode I Queen Amidala, for sure.  But I agree that a new figure would be really welcome.

The Anakin looks like an improvement from the original release.  But I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with Captain Rex.  There was that removable helmet version that was never released which would have been a fine choice, especially for getting Rex on a Vintage Collection card for the first time.  But the TIE Pilot?  Meh.  Especially since it's from that era where all of a sudden all of these Imperial troops had removable helmets and Clone likenesses underneath.

I guess I’m going to have to do my usual thing where I ask how many of these are straight repacks and how many are kitbashed or repainted or have photo real faces and so on.

Agreed on the new figures front.  I guess I'm spoiled.

On topic, though, was that Queen Amidala that hard to find to be re-issued, or is it just because of the new facial apps that we're going to see every figure re-released down the line?

I figured it was, I just drove 7 hours yesterday and am looking at stuff on my phone now.  So I’ll blame being tired and only looking for a minute. Either way, Hasbro’s general laziness with 3.75 is a shame...

Jeff, do you happen to know which TIE this particular version was packed with?  I just want to figure out if I have one or not before I cancel them off of my pre-order.

I haven't seen a close enough shot of the helmet deco to know for sure.  That description was based on what Hasbro said during the livestream.

I believe these were the same as the TIE pilots in the TRU Battle over Endor Multipack.

At least it's the same helmet.  The only TVC TIE Pilot I'm aware of is TVC #65.

I shared this on the Facebook page earlier, I found this wave at Walmart today. Wound up passing on them though, didn't need to pay $14 for figures i either had a ton of already or paid less than $5 when they first came out

Lets hope this is one of those low production run hard to find waves and doesn't end up clogging up the shelves.
