Jocasta's Reading Room / What's your LEAST favorite book?
« on: April 9, 2003, 02:08 AM »
I've only read about 5 books so far, and I'd have to say "Truce at Bakara."  It was so boring that I only read about 3/4 of it.

Modern Classifieds / Anyone need these deluxe sets?
« on: April 3, 2003, 08:44 PM »
Does anyone here need these two deluxe Saga sets?  My local Target had a bunch of them in stock, and I can get them for you if you need them.  I would prefer to do a trade for this, but would also sell them too.  Please let me know... thanks!

C-3P0 Droid Factory Assembly Line Deluxe Set
Yoda And Super Battle Droid Deluxe Set

The Target by me had about 3 of each and all were in pretty good condition, so if you need these contact me ASAP.  Thanks!

Does anyone here collect magazines that were made about Star Wars, specifically about the original trilogy?  Here's some pictures of magazines I bought a few months ago... got all three for $10 at a flea market.  I think they're pretty cool if you ask me.

Vintage Kenner / Hoth Rebel Soldier Variation???
« on: March 26, 2003, 11:48 PM »
I think I might have found another variation in the vintage figure line, but this might already be well known.  Thought I would share what I have found here.  Click here to learn more.

Toy Reviews / R2-D2 (Droid Factory Flight)
« on: March 26, 2003, 06:56 PM »
This will be a short & simple review here.  I think this figure is pretty pathetic.  The dome on this is a dull dark gray color... it's not silver or chrome looking!  It doesn't even have a metallic finish to it.  At least Hasbro did a decent job on the first Saga R2-D2 figure they made.  His legs aren't articulated so you can't pose him in a "moving" position.  I'm not even going to waste my time on this figure, but it's a big disappointment.

Watto's Junk Yard / Just quit my job today...
« on: March 25, 2003, 03:45 PM »
I just quit my job today, and I feel kinda bummed about it.  I worked for Global Computer Supplies in computer sales (to corporate environments), and I had to quit because they don't treat their employees well at all.  It's such a long story, but I just don't feel like going into it right now.

If ANYONE here knows a company that's looking for a computer related technical (hands-on) or sales position please email me at crhoads@ameritech.net.  It must be in the Chicagoland area, because that's obviously where I'm from.

The worst part is that I don't have another job lined up.

LEGO / What would you like to see made?
« on: March 23, 2003, 12:35 AM »
If you could have LEGO offer any type of Star Wars kit that hasn't been made yet, what would it be?  I mean it could be anything out there from the Star Wars universe (vehicle, character, etc.).

Well, I would love to see them do a whole bunch of environments like...

-- Mos Eisley Cantina
-- Death Star
-- Endor Moon
-- Hoth Base
-- Dagobah
-- Cloud City

LEGO has done a great job with the vehicles and characters, but they haven't done much as far as environments go.  Yes, they've recently done Jabba's Palace which I think is great and all, but they need to expand into more areas.

Watto's Junk Yard / Who did you pretend you were?
« on: March 22, 2003, 02:07 AM »
When I was a kid playing with Star Wars figures I always pretended I was Boba Fett.  He was (and still is) my favorite Star Wars figure/character.  Damn, that boy could fly, shoot flames/laser beams/harpoon line/rockets, was a bounty hunter, and just looked oh so sweet.

Who did you pretend you were when playing with your figures?

Watto's Junk Yard / Your Favorite Star Wars Figure Line?
« on: March 22, 2003, 02:04 AM »
What's your overall favorite Star Wars figure line?

Mine would have to be Vintage, because I truly think they look the best.  I'm not all for the "action" figures of today's standards, and I love how my Imperial Soldiers stand perfectly at attention.  They're not all humped over, or in some stupid pose.  They also bring back so many memories of growing up and playing Star Wars with my little brother.

Power of the Jedi / Darth Vader, Emperor's Wrath
« on: March 8, 2003, 10:16 PM »
Why does Darth Vader (in this figure) have both of his hands?  He lost his right one just before picking up the Emperor.

Good question, huh?

Other Collectibles / Star Wars Autographs
« on: March 6, 2003, 04:17 PM »
I'm thinking about getting some Star Wars autographs, and am totally new to the subject.  Where does everyone here get their autographs (online preferred)?

I noticed this deal on Wattographs' website (http://www.wattographs.com/privatesignings/bobas-pasadena-signing.htm)... is this a good deal?  Boba Fett is definitely one of my favorite characters, and this would be a sweet thing to get.

LMK... thanks!

Jocasta's Reading Room / Where to start (comics)?
« on: March 6, 2003, 03:30 PM »
I'm kinda interested in starting a collection of Star Wars comic books, but I don't have a clue where to start.  I saw that timeline on Dark Horse Comics' website (http://www.darkhorse.com/products/zones/z_starwars/zp_timeline/index.html), but where did everyone here start?  What are the best series to begin with first?  Can you buy any of the series together to save on pricing?

Any suggestions are welcome!
