Episode 1 / My Collection is Complete!
« on: September 18, 2003, 06:43 PM »
My single-carded figure collection is now complete, thanks to my lovely wife!  She got me the Naboo Royal Guard as an early anniversary gift today, and I am so happy now!   ;D  I've been wanting that figure for a very long time now!

Check out a picture of it here.

Now, if I really want to complete my Episode 1 collection I need to finish acquiring all the vehicles and 2-pack carded figures.  But, I'm not going to do that.  I will definitely try getting more of the vehicles, but I'm not concerned about the 2-packs at this point in time.

Can't say a lot about this figure since I haven't opened her up yet, but this figure looks identical to the droid in AOTC!  What an awesome figure to have been made!  Click HERE to see a picture of her on its card.

Toy Reviews / The Emperor Throne Room Duel
« on: September 16, 2003, 09:28 PM »
The Emperor, one of the most powerful people in the Star Wars universe, has been issued yet another time in plastic form.  I haven't taken him out of his plastic shell yet, but he's well worth the purchase.  Something I noticed about this is that on one face is gray/white in color, but the other figure has a blue tint to it.  Is that a variation by chance?

Check out the pictures HERE.

Toy Reviews / Coleman Trebor
« on: September 16, 2003, 09:11 PM »
Coleman Trebor, the Jedi who met his fate in the Battle of Geonosis, has got to be one of the best Jedi figures made yet by Hasbro!  The detail is incredible!  And there is a new feature on this figure that I haven't seen yet on any other Star Wars figure.  He has ball-joints in his shoulders, so you can pose either of his arms in a number of different poses.  Very cool!  His right ankle has articulation, and that's there to accommodate him on top of his stand.

Check out the pictures HERE.

Watto's Junk Yard / Who Here Has Your Own Web Site?
« on: September 1, 2003, 11:54 AM »
What members of JediDefender have their very own web site?  If you have one, what's the main purpose of it?  What's the URL of it so that we all can see it?

I have chrisrhoads.com, which is my personal website.  On it I have my resume, a brief bio of myself, my daily journal, and of course tons of good stuff relating to my Star Wars collection.

I also have countryrhoads.com, which is my company website.  I do web design, graphic imaging, logo creation, eBay auctioning, business cards, computer work, and much more.  It's not a fulltime gig, but it's something I do on the side that brings in a little bit of money to help my Star Wars collecting.   8)

Watto's Junk Yard / Labor Day & What Are You Doing Today?
« on: September 1, 2003, 11:49 AM »
I have the day off from work since I'm consulting at a bank.  So far this morning I've been rearranging my office where my Star Wars stuff is displayed.  Last night my wife (Carrie aka carebear) cleaned out the office closet for me since I'm a pack rat, so that freed up a ton of space for us.  I packed away anything Star Wars related that I didn't have room to put out, and moved those into the garage.  One entire wall in the garage is covered with Rubbermaid containers packed with Star Wars stuff.  I can't wait to get a house, so that I can display EVERYTHING that I own.

Later today we're having some friends over for a BBQ.

What are you doing today (if you have the day off from work)?

Watto's Junk Yard / Retirement ?'s
« on: August 23, 2003, 12:53 AM »
How old do you think you'll be when you retire?  What are you plans after retirement?  Are you going to move to a different location (i.e. Florida, Arizona, etc)?

I'll probably be about 60 when I retire, I don't have anything planned for retirement, and will probably move down to Florida when that times come.

Feedback / Paul's (pka pmundheim) feedback
« on: August 7, 2003, 09:24 PM »
Just completed my first trade with pmundheim, and it was an awesome trade.  Because he didn't have any trade feedback here he offered to send his stuff to me first, and I received both items from him very quickly.  Everything was packaged beautifully, and both items were described perfectly.  Thank you so much for an awesome trade!   ;D

The Prequel Trilogy / Fake Screenplay ?
« on: August 6, 2003, 08:59 PM »
*** POSSIBLE SPOILER HYPERLINK ***

I was just visiting the website "Something Awful" and came across this article they had regarding a screenplay for EP3.  I am almost 98% sure that it's a complete fake, but nonetheless it was entertaining to read.  Click here to be taken there to read the 7 pages of this screenplay, before it's taken down from their website.

I can't wait to hear the responses about this one.   8)

Watto's Junk Yard / "Freddy vs. Jason"
« on: August 5, 2003, 09:50 PM »
Who here is going to see it when it comes out?  I'll probably wait until it comes out in cheap theaters, but I do want to see it.  I think Freddy will lay the smackdown all over Jason, but who do you think will win?

Watto's Junk Yard / Need Help Writing "Best Man" Speech
« on: July 31, 2003, 07:42 PM »
My brother is getting married this Saturday, and I am the best man for the wedding.  I am having the hardest time trying to write up a speech for the dinner ceremony, and was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions as what to write.  I'm not asking for someone to write the entire speech, but I just need some ideas.

I think I'm going to mention how my new sister-in-law is truly the sister I never had (I only have one brother), and how happy I am to see the two of them be married now.

I'm just freaking out about the whole thing.  Planning the bachelor party was stressful enough, but this is making me more nervous.  He was my best man and wrote the nicest speech, and I just want to make it as nice as his.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Watto's Junk Yard / Interesting Websites
« on: July 29, 2003, 11:59 PM »
Have you ever run across an interesting website that you just "HAD" to bookmark?  If you have, please share those sites here.

Here's one of mine that I've become addicted to... Find A Grave.

Here you can do a search on anyone to see where they're buried.  Not every single person is in this database, but you'd be surprised how many people are in it.  There are millions of people in it!  It's a great tool to use if you want to know where any famous people are buried.

I find myself on this site just about every night strolling through their online cemetery.  You click on one of the arrows to take you to a random grave/memorial.  Don't ask me why I'm so fascinated about this site, but I just am.
