Thanks, so that means I'd have a discount of $12, not much, but it's something.
I'm glad SSC is doing another EU figure, maybe we'll get a Mara sometime in the future?

It sounds like the "with chair" version will be the Sideshow exclusive (and yes, at a much higher price point). It will be similar to the way they did the "Toht with Polystone Ark" exclusive edition or "Belloq with Fertility Idol stand" exclusive edition sets they had.

Neat, I'll pass on this one, but if they do a ROTJ Palpatine with Throne I think I'd have to bite on that one. :P

I think I read somewhere on the Sideshow FAQ's that you can, but I've never tried it :P.

I was expecting around $150 for the figure and chair, but I guess I was wrong. He also looks kind of plain since they didn't add the gold plates on his shoulders. If they add the plates I'll probably buy him, but right now he doesn't seem worth the money. Oh well... :-\

I really, really wanted the throne version until I saw how huge and out of proportion it was. And then I saw how huge and out of proportion the price tag was, too. No thanks, regular version for me!

Wow. Cool figure, but I'm going to pass at those prices. The $80 version is sort of tempting, but that'll be close to $100 when all is said and done. :P

What is the chair made of for it to be that expensive gold? It does look nice though. Maybe if they ever get to an Emperor from ROTJ a throne chair will be included.

Does anybody know when this will be shipped? One of my sort of local toy stores is pretty good about getting Sideshow stuff and I may have to bite on this if they do get it.

4th Quarter '09. Last time I got a SS figure that shipped in the 4th Quarter was the Old Ben Kenobi and it shipped shortly before Christmas.

Sideshow certainly does a better job than Hasbro every did, but sometimes their stuff is still a little lack luster. This is not one of those pieces. This was mighty impressive to look at in person.

My Grand Admiral Thrawn arrived today. He looks really cool, although I do wish I had the command chair. I just couldn't justify the price.

I picked up the basic version for $80 yesterday at a local hobby shop.

There is something about the head sculpt on this figure - the jaw looks too pronounced and to me smacks of a Hasbro 12" figure vs. a Sideshow offering.

The chair looks like emperors Palpatine in potf2 tri pack, perhaps a model for an upcoming Thrawn with chair for the 3 3/4 inches scale.

I think the ship has sailed for Hasbro's Thrawn (http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/html/TLC/comicpacks/thrawn_talon.html) getting his own command chair, but a great alternative to the Cinema Scene 3-pack chair is the Hallmark Emperor Palpatine ornament from 2008.
