I'm thinking we need a secretary to keep us organized. This person would stomp the other forums looking for new recruits for the project. He would also make up a weekly email detailing the events that have happened this week. That way everybody can keep up to date with what is going on in each department.

Celebration IV - Ultimate Group Project / Star Wars World - Background story thread

I would like to start a little contest to name the planet for our group project. The idea is to name the planet and write a short background story about it. This will give us a good direction on how the diorama would be built. Add as much detail as you would like. Just keep it less than two typed pages. Email or PM the story to me by the end of June. I'll post all of the stories and let everyone vote on the best treatment. No prizes. Just the honor of having it as the official background history. After something is chosen we can expand on it.

Celebration IV - Ultimate Group Project / UGP - a Star Wars WORLD! - news thread

This is an idea that I've been kicking around for quite some time. The idea is to organize the biggest and most ambitious group project we have ever done. An entire Star Wars WORLD. This project would go on for an entire year and hopefully be displayed at C4 next year (if we can get a sponser). I'll donate space on my new customizing web site for work in progress pictures of everything and display the final results.

The idea is to get multiple customizing forums together to create citizens for this world. All these characters would go into a large diorama complete with buildings, streets and ships of our design. We could do a planet that has been seen on screen before or something totally new.

This thread is designed to get ideas and volunteers and try to organize this huge undertaking. Everybody is welcome to submit suggestions, time  and their work. Let's talk about it here and we can talk about this June 24th at 9pm est in the chat room.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Group Project #13 - Jango Fett

Here is our latest group project. The idea behind this one is to make your totally pimped out ultimate version of Jango Fett. Get creative with this one. Add whatever accessories you want to make the ultimate version of Jango. Give him flame throwers. Give him grappling hooks. Give him a bounty capture claw and missile rack (like hasbro would do). Just make sure he is easily recognizable as Jango.

As for all group projects, please make sure to post plenty of reference pictures and lots of work in progress shots. Please do not submit pictures of figures that you made before this project started unless they are examples of a certain technique or example of something you are trying to duplicate. This is NOT a casting call for old figures.

Final figures will be due on July 31st and will be included in the group project entry thread. Let's get cracking.

Other Custom Figures (non Star Wars) / 12" or 4" customs?

Here are a few customs I've been really impressed with. They look like 12" dolls using dragon bodies.







These are actually 4" tall figures using the Microman body! These were made by Steelbonnet over at CC. In my opinion, these things could pass for much larger dolls due to the great joints of the microman body.

What do you think? I know they arn't star wars but they do show off some great advanced customizing techniques I thought you might enjoy.

I came across this picture for the new darth vader game. It's got some interesting looking bounty hunters. That droid looks like he could be done with a Overkill and a grevious head. Interesting looking female bounty hunter there too. What are your ideas on parts for these?

It looks like stormtrooper lucas is on ebay already. This seller is selling just the order form and stickers for the Lucas Stormtrooper figure. Probably stolen from cards that are on the pegs. You still have to mail in the order form and shipping. This guy wants $5.50 to ship you some small pieces of paper.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Group Project 12 - Ysanne Isard and Admiral Daala

Well here we are on our 12th group project for the month of April. This time we got two Imperial female officers to make. Basically these two should be a good team to make since they are so simular. You could practically use the same body with a different head. I'd suggest making Daala in her flight suit to mix things up a little. You can make them in any outfit you want as long as there is a reference picture somewhere on the net for them. Anyway the due date is the end of May. Please try to have them done by then. Also please post lots of work in progress pictures along the way.

Star Wars Action Figures / Shadow Stormtrooper

This is my version of the upcoming Shadow Stormtrooper exclusive. He is based on the back of the card picture of the Shadow Stormtrooper. I liked it because they used a blue body glove instead of just spray painting a stromtrooper black and adding some white highlight to the helmet like the one we are really getting. Sorry about brightness of the picture. It's next to impossible for me to photograph a shiny black figure and not lose detail in the reflections.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Group Project - Entries (updated 8/1/06)

Because of a suggestion by Darth_Ennis, I've started this thread to collect past Group Project entries. Group Projects are something I started over at RebelScum a few years ago. It has moved from FFURG and now to here. So far we have had twelve projects over two years.

The idea behind the group project is that we all create the same character based on any reference pictures we can find. We discuss parts to use and customizing techniques. We are suppost to post work in progress pictures of the character.

Star Wars Action Figures / Aayla Secura finished

No not the actress but the Microlady version! ;D  After the success of the Microlady Slave Girl Leia, I've decided to follow it up with a Microlady version of Aayla Secura. As you can see I've added the head. Now I need to mix some paint to make the body match the head. Any suggestions on color or paint combinations for this?
