Title: Custom landing skids for TFA 3.75" scale X-wings

I am looking for ideas to add taller landing skids to the TFA X-wings. My hope is to change the current look where the x-wing is barely as tall as Poe's shoulder. It would be a nice cheat for display purposes to find/make landing gear that props up the ship by 2.5" or more.

Any ideas?

Gotta pic of the ship?  First thought is simply styrene pipes.
