Care to explain - without any G1 comments?  I will admit that the ending was very jumbled together what with going from Boulder Dam NV to whatever city they wound up in and yes it was EXTREMELY lame that Blackout (helicopter) who took out that entire military base at the beginning of the movie was destroyed by one single guy.

The plot was flat-out terrible.

Magatron somehow knew the exact location of the Allspark, but managed to somehow crash in the Arctic half a globe away trying to get there.

Despite being a spacecraft capable of intergalactic travel at near absolute zero temperatures, Megatron becomes totally immobilized from arctic snow.

Bumblebee, alone on Earth, knew how to find Sam at the car dealership, supposedly after discovering his glasses listed on eBay, but the Decepticons had no idea who Witwiki (sp?) was or Sam's identity or that the glasses had the map until cracking the ABOVE TOP SECRET Iceman file.

The Allspark was surrounded by "four football fields" of concrete so no signal could ever get to the aliens.  Frenzy has no problem whatsoever broadcasting the location to the Decepticons from under all that concrete.

An Allspark the size of a city block "transforms" to the size and weight of a football.

That's just off the top of my head after one viewing.  It was one of the worst written sci-fi films I've ever watched.

I almost missed Celebration 2 because of jury duty.  There was a big murder case in the county.  The jury selection took almost two days.  When I was about tenth from being interviewed, they announced that they had picked the jury, and we now choosing alternates.  Now, knowing the trial was going to happen during C2, I did a ton of research on the case to bias myself.  I worked for a newspaper, so I just read all the articles.  This would easily have disqualified me from service on the regular jury.  But for alternates they're much less strict.  So I was sweating bullets.  The other nine people ahead of me went in for their interviews.  I was called to go over and sit at a chair near the entrance to the room to wait my turn... very spooky... it was like a stone staircase down into a dungeon.  I sat there for maybe 30 minutes.  Then I was informed that the last alternate spot had been filled and I was free to go.

Funny thing, though... reading the news reports I was sure the guy was guilty.  100% certain.  But it turned out the news reports were all flawed, because the people who actually committed the crime were the people feeding info to the press.  So the guy on trial ended up going free, and his associates were arrested.

I wouldn't have a problem serving if the trial wasn't scheduled during an event like that.  I didn't go to Celebration 1, so this was just huge for me.  PSWCS was setting up a booth.  And I was on the cusp of missing it entirely.

God does this look stupid.  Which is funny, since every card I clicked on called the individual "brilliant."

So G.I. Joe is all dressed in black.  Cobra is all dressed in black.  The battles are going to be a mess.  But at least G.I. Joe will have a tactical advantage - they can all shoot freely at Storm Shadow.

I'm planning to see Coraline next weekend.  I've always enjoyed stop motion, and this looks to be the best of the best.  Plus my daughter keeps asking to see it.
