Revenge of the Sith / Re: Anakin Starfighter Exclusive?
« on: April 23, 2005, 02:16 PM »
An exsisting vehicle with a new paint deco is OK with me. Just as long as they don't charge an extra ten or fifteen bucks for it ala the Target Exclusive Clone Trooper. Hell, I wouldn't complain if they tacked on an extra couple bucks for the figure that comes with this ship.

THIRTEEN BUCKS FOR TWO RED DOTS!?

Hey Target! how about dinner and a movie before you bend me over and screw me!!!! Keep your overpriced garbage you dirty bastards!

If people keep supporting these kinds of rediculous pricing practices, they'll keep doing it, bottom line! Let the damn things pegwarm and you'll get it for the price of a regular figure. The way it should have been all along.

Considering the only alternative for those who want a protective case for their ROTS figures is the lackluster Star Case 3, the Hasbro version doesn't seem all that bad. I'll wait to see them in person, and how well they look and work, before passing final judgment though. At the very least, now carded collectors have two options apposed to just one. And that's never a bad thing.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter
« on: April 9, 2005, 08:10 PM »
The supplement doesn't necessarily explain why Plo Koon's still flying around in one of the older models though - or why it has a design similar to Anakin's.

Perhaps the rest of the book will....

Perhaps Plo, like Han Solo, tends to stick with a particular vehicle/model when he finds one that suites him. Besides, who knows what kinds of interior, electrical and mechanical modifications good `ol Plo has made to this older ship? Like real folk, even some Jedi might not be able to afford that brand new state-of-the-art car, er umm, ship.

As for the paint scheme being just like Anakin's, I'm guessing nothing more than pure lack of imagination.

That being said, I like it! I'll buy this vehicle if/when I find one. I should go buy me a Plo to pilot it while I can easily find him.

Not much but here's what I've got:

Anankin's Jedi Starfighter
Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter
ARC 170 (and three pilots for the damn thing, no droid yet)
12" Grevious
Unleashed Grevious
Basic figures: 20, 21, 22, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36

I was thinking about getting a Tri-Fighter and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me the lowdown on this vehicle/droid. Same with Grevious' Wheel. Thanks.

I can honestly say that for the first time I wish the US would get the Canadian carded versions.

Not having any of those tacky stickers mucking up an otherwise cool card would be enough to allow me to buy some of these figures. Oh well.

What color is Plo's ship? Is it in the CW cartoon?

Whats the big deal about screw holes? This certainly isn't the only vehicle to be littered with holes on one side of its body or the other. Besides, all the customizers and openers around here I'd think that more of you would be open to useing some sculpty, putty or filler of some kind to clean this otherwise cool ship up with. Or easier still, hang/display the ARC 170 with the screw holes facing away from the common viewing angle.

I'm buying a few.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: PT Showings May 18th-19th?
« on: March 21, 2005, 12:56 PM »
IMaybe I'll just watch Episodes I and II at home, drive to see III in the theater, and come home and watch IV, V, and VI on DVD.  At least at home my feet don't stick to the floor (most of the time, anyway) and I don't have to deal with rude people who need to have their cell phones forcibly inserted into their anuses.

That sounds like your best bet to me.

With the recent talk of making the SW films 3-D I'm betting we get all six a little later this year or early next year (Hmm, Christmas sounds good). Perhaps they could show both trilogy's a month or so apart as I doubt many would be willing to sit through all six films in one day except for folks like us.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Episode III a tearjerker: Lucas
« on: March 20, 2005, 09:44 AM »
I never thought for a moment they meant sappy when refering to it  as a "tearjerker". How can one NOT feel great sadness at the idea of the deaths of nearly every last Jedi, you know, the protectors of all that is good and just in the galaxy? Hell, even the greatest Force user of all, Yoda, is powerless to stop it. It SHOULD make you feel sad that the powers of Evil manage to stomp the powers of Good so completely and thuroughly into oblivion.

:::Gettin' on the soapbox:::
Again, in this age of "glorifiing the villian" we all live in, I expect this film to excell like no Star Wars film before it, even more than "Empire". Only time can prove me wrong. My theory is partially proven already by the sheer amount of posters who seem to foam at the mouth at the very idea of the Birth of Vader, which we all know can not happen without the death of all the Jedi, as well as the fact that more and more of you can't seem to get enough of someone like Palpatine, a crusty old man who's only talents are manipulating others, lying and killing. You get the point.
:::Gettin' off the soapbox:::

I for one am a HUGE fan of Jedi and their very concept. I know this thirty seven year old man will be crying like a little baby when they all get stabbed (or shot) in the back.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Final 'Star Wars' said to be very dark
« on: March 11, 2005, 11:52 AM »
Fine by me. I wasn't planning on letting my son view this one for some time anyway. Funny how we are drawn to all things that are dark and dangerous. It's the whole rubber-necking while driving by a car accident syndrome, just scaled back a bit. We can't help but be curious. We can't help but look. I predict this film will blow the roof off all expectations across the board. This film will very likely even manage to draw in those that the lackluster Phantom and Clones films failed to.

PG-13 seems appropriate for a film filled with so much death, destruction and disparity, to me anyway. But I’m old, old school values.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Trailer
« on: March 11, 2005, 11:38 AM »
Holy Hell that was amazing!!!

Let me go out on a limb and say that, due to it's dark nature, not unlike The Empire Strikes Back, this film will easily become the best modern Star Wars film. TPM and AOTC won't even come close. I also truly, yet begrudgingly, believe that this film WILL replace "Empire" as best Star Wars film ever. And that, says a lot!

It will be fantastic to finally see Obi-Wan kick the ever-loving-hell out of that whiny punk Anakin!!! Unfortunately it will be extremely traumatic to see all of the Jedi betrayed and mass-murdered like that. Here's hoping that the killing of the padawans and younglings is done 99.9% off-screen as that would be best implied.

I've got goosebumps so big they hurt!!!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: November 2, 2004, 01:16 PM »
Aaaahhh. I was just lucky enough to find the Imperial Trooper at my local K Mart store. Not only was it nice to find something new at K Mart for a change but also to find the last OTC figure to complete the set. Whew, I can rest for a bit now... until those transition waves start hitting!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Scum continues it's downward spiral
« on: October 22, 2004, 10:25 AM »
My personal opinion, I'd let the water continue to swirl around the bowl and wave bye-bye instead of jumping in and joining the rest of the ****, but that's just me ;)

Ya see though OCB, the waters been swirling for so long now that I 've accepted the fact that it's one of those damn toilets that never really flushes all the way. You know what I mean? I think there's always gonna be just enough good over there to keep the whole thing from tanking. Speaking only for my self, I know I can't keep away, something keeps pulling me back in. Sure my posts are few and far between, but I always go back. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I've been there since the great migration (I came over then), and have been witness to the spin-offs, mergers and all the other ****. Lord there's been lots of ****!

Again, speaking only for myself, I think KBZ should try to go clean RS up a bit. Couldn't hurt the place.

Hey! How come I can't say **** anymore? ??? Guess I need to haunt this place a bit more frequently.
