I think it can be chalked up to paint op procedures rather than a legit variant/running change. All the one I've seen (here in the midwest) have all had the varying shades in the midsection. (I do like the darker/dirty version though)

The only one I really have any issues with is the Tusken Raider. Those slash-cut elbow SUCK. Any time I tried to position him to hold a weapon for photographing, the forearms would pop out.  >:(

What's sad about having to buy the 2004 re-dos, just to get the OOT versions, are all the errors in the lightsaber color-correction. (i.e. Luke's green saber during the training remote scene and Vader's fashionable "pink" blade in ESB & ROTJ)

While toy hunting today, I was looking at the Pirates of the Caribbean figures and noticed that the Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) figure's head would make a pretty decent young Qui-Gon if anyone were so inclined to make one.

I agree Scott. That is one of my favorite decos from EIII and Hasblo **** teases us by putting the SA Trooper on a Coruscant Clone cardback  :(
