Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode III line....April 2nd, 2005
« on: January 20, 2005, 12:48 PM »
I love days like this - so much to look forward to!!

This might be a stupid question, but has anyone heard if all of these are new sculpts?  You don't think they'd sneak any repacks in would they?  I'm expecting they're all new since they are all specific to ROTS, but any possibility that Hasbro would simply repaint some old sculpts for some characters?  Geez, I must be getting pessimistic despite my excitement.   ???:)

The Captain's Log.

Man, if I had $40 to blow on one thing right now, I would.
currently taking donations. ;)

Can you believe that this went for $121.38?  Who knew Kirk with ******** Action Feature would be so valuable?   ;D

I'm thinking the figures where they are holding their drinks is the regular version. Were they made with the drinks just packed in first, and switched later, or is the other way around?

This is only my guess, but I'd bet that they were originally packed holding their cups, and then changed so that the cups were attached to the bubble.  I'm guessing some politically correct special interest group decided we shouldn't be directly encouraging kids to drink, so they took the cup out of their hands.   ;D

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Any ROTS figures you will pass on?
« on: January 19, 2005, 02:39 PM »
Patience is NOT a virtue of mine - if I see it, I will buy it.  That has pretty much always applied for the "basic" 3 3/4" line of figures (in this case, Collection 1 & 2).  I'm always a lot pickier with deluxe figures, beast, vehicles, playsets, etc.  Basic figures are the priority, and so I don't see myself passing on any of them.

This should give us all some perspective

Click the before and after button...its just horrible :'(

Wow.  Seeing those pictures really drove home what has happened.  It's actually a shame (for my empathy of the world) that I need the pics to "understand".  No matter what crappy things go on in my life, I've got it so much better than millions of others.

Hah, I hear you Brent!  My 3 year old daughter is great now, but she's going to hate me when she's 13 until at least 18 - I can guarantee it.

..."Why no officer, that isn't my daughter's boyfriend in my freezer.  Why do you ask?"

That being said, I think I actually prefer raising a girl, maybe because I feel less pressure?  Of course I don't have a son, but I've always felt there's a lot of bull**** macho pressure that can get in the way when raising a son - I've never been the jock/tough-guy, but for some reason feel like my son is supposed to be?

Sheesh, too much psychology involved here.  I should just be saying:
Congrats Mr. rebeltrader - all we should really want is "happy and healthy"  :)

I've been running version 1.3 for a little while now, but I haven't run into these problems.  Maybe I'm just lucky?  It seems to be a program that is great when it works and terrible when it doesn't - based on the reviews I've read on download.com.

Freezing rain - not cool Dale.  (er, pardon the pun).  They're calling for that here on Thursday.  Talk about one extreme to the other - Going from -50oC with the windchill to above zero in 5 days?  Is -10 so much to ask for?  (Actually, I know it is, but I guy can dream...)

I've sent several emails now, and haven't gotten a single response.

Just for interest's sake, it may take them a few days to e-mail you back.  I had e-mailed about the possiblity of shipping outside the UK and it took them about 5 days to get back to me.  My guess is that they are overloaded with orders and e-mails and are having a hard time keeping up.  (They did say that I could ship it outside the UK, but didn't know what the shipping would cost, so that's probably why you never did get a shipping confirmation.)  Keep your fingers crossed, you may still hear from them.

I just noticed the Grandmother inside the wolf's entrails.

eeeeeeeeeewww.

Holy lick, I didn't notice that until you pointed it out.  I think Mr. McFarlane may have gone just a tad overboard on this one.   :-X
