Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Why isn't anyone talking about this?!
« on: August 15, 2004, 04:12 AM »
The way his wife was acting and looking so supportive during his press conference announcing his gay affair, I have to wonder if she likely knew all along...  I'd guess so.

Sounds like the Republicans are going to try to force him out NOW, as opposed to the November 15th date that he mentioned for leaving office.

Anyway, let's try to stay on topic guys.  If you've got a beef with Durge, please try to keep it to yourself, or in PMs.  Thanks!   :-*

Thanks for the reroute, Matt.

I agree with your observation about his wife. What is going on with her? Obviously she loves him, and has the best interest of the family in mind - but it takes nads to stand in at the press conference. Of course, her absence would only escalate the media feeding frenzy with additional speculation surrounding her position.

I had an ever so small Kobe Bryant flashback... I remember the talk around his wife standing beside him as he acknowledged his "activity" with the Colorado woman. Grannted, it was (and is) "innocent until proven guilty" regarding the charges, but nonetheless he was admitting infidelity. I don't recall seeing Hilary in the televised address Clinton gave, and we know where the media went with reading into the state of their marriage.

Where did you read that the homo-fobes republicans were going to force him out early? Not that I'm surprised, just curious.

Hey Jared,

When you get batteries in the Falcon I'd like to know if it is still a little tipsy like the POTF2 one. That always bugged me!

Scott, what the hell is going on around here? Where has the quality control gone?

First Colman tries to quote an post and blows it big time by clicking "modify" instead:

From JediMAC:

I just mentioned that, in case anyone cared enough to look it up and verify it...   :-*

Dammit.  I tried to quote your post here, and instead I modified it!  Stupid me...

And now you stick your comment inside the quote area itself. What's up with that?

I celebrate the man's entire catalog.

I thought Alanis was a...wait a second!

I can follow along, but I'm concerned for some of our newer members that have just made the transition from 'scum. They're accustomed to a much tighter ship and flawless posts from moderators, and their heads still hurt from the daily beatings given there.

This is my community. I live less than 5 miles from Memory Grove, where Mark Hacking (<---- unfortunate name) said his wife went jogging.

That's also not far from Federal Heights, where the Ed Smart family lives and their daughter was abducted by a nut in 2002.

I'm sad about the whole thing. It's been everywhere here for two weeks. News, flyers, organized searches; the works. Early in this case it was inferred that this wasn't a typical missing persons case. Mark Hacking is wacked, his lying being the obvious tip of the iceberg.

It bothers me that the guy would allow/invite 3000+ searchers to comb through the canyon he said she was jogging in while knowing the truth. Knowing that they were wasting their time, that there was no abduction or hope of rescue. He knew this was a recovery search from day one. He knew it and allowed his and her family, the searchers and the public to live in hell worrying about her safety.

Regarding his and her parents; all I can say is wow. I'm humbled by their kindness toward each other, the public, the police, the press and especially Mark. Lori's mother said earlier as evidence began to point to Mark and his lies were uncovered that she would always love him, even if he were involved in the disappearance. The benefit of the doubt she showed him throughout, and her actions since Sunday show she has a peace and perspective on the loss of her daughter.

She said; "My family and I are profoundly anguished to lose Lori, our precious daughter and sister. Our lives will never be the same and we will grieve for her and miss her until the day we die. But when that day finally arrives, we know with absolute certainty that she will be there with open arms to greet us and our reunion will be glorious. Until then, we know where she is and who watches over her."

Read her whole statement here: http://tv.ksl.com/index.php?sid=110305&nid=5

Mark isn't running or hiding. He seems genuinely messed up from all accounts. I feel confident that justice, whatever form it may take, will be served in this case.

I've always wanted a shirt that says "carpe maņana". Especially understanding that "maņana" doesn't necessarily mean "tomorrow", but rather an abstract "some point in the future".

Nice Jared!

I want to know about the engine lights on that bad boy - did they modify the rear at all? It actually lights up, right? Or am I a dumbass?

Original Trilogy Collection / OTC Wuher - What the heck Hasbro?
« on: July 27, 2004, 12:02 AM »
I was looking through photos on JD from San Diego of the new Hasbro porduct and have to ask Hasbro "what gives"?

Why did they do this to poor Wuher?

First, he's on a Millennium Falcon card! And holding a red light saber? For crying out loud!

Do they know something we don't? Have they seen Georges new DVD cut due this fall?

Are they trying to make him look more playable? Good luck, from the looks of this guy. Although, he does look like he may have been working out a little. ;)

He also looks kinda like he might be Falling Down. Quality control, anyone?

Now that you punks are visible, wouldn't blurring her face out be the right thing to do?

She's probably reading this right now feeling quite embarrassed.

Got an email today saying my stands shipped.  Oh sure, the inventory types are limited but what a novel approach.  Hmm, somebody ordered something last night Bob, we should box that up and ship out, ya think?  Sure thing Jim, only reasonable thing we could do, after all, we're not SSW.com :-*

Brent, you sound bitter.

If you think he sounds bitter, you should see how he tastes.

Don't ask me what that means.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Will Madonna ever give it up?

Rush Limbaugh said it best during today's show:

"Madonna, the glimmering jewel of colossal ignorance, is somehow treated by the Press as some sort of oracle that we all ought to stop and listen to, as though we'd learn something."

Hold up the mirror, Rush.

OK I'm going to start handing out PermaBans unless more people start watching this video.  Deanpaul went to all of this trouble to entertain every last one of us and what thanks does he get?  Zip, nada, zilch.  Throw the man a bone

Thanks for the attention, Scott. I laughed out loud at the idea of permabans. Sounds kind of like "double secret probation" from Animal House. It's interesting to hear that people often don't click-through on links.
