That’s the first time I’ve seen a really nasty post by Smileyfaceguy.

He probably wants the two minutes it took him to follow that link back. I know I do.

I think I found one of the songs I'm going to get with my Pepsi/iTunes caps...

Check out the link for a great version of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Thanks guys. Glad you like what I posted - I'll try to offer an update when there is something besides more toys to see.

I'm really enjoying that jedidefender posts are so much more about quality than quantity. Thanks for making this such a great place.

I found some old pictures on my iDisk this weekend that I forgot were there. They're a little out of date, but you can check them out here:

I need to design some shelves to get the stuff spread out more and off the floor.

Any suggestions?

39 days, 16 18 Survivors. I agree something unusual or new is about to happen. The merge has traditionally happens with 10 contestants left, 1st out is not on the jury, remaining 7 on the jury vote for the final 2 to select the sole Survivor.

Some kind of shake up has to happen to get everyone out on time.

Well ain't that a b!tch.  Your first post here, and you get moderated by two people!

Classic! When I saw the post in Watto's, I thought I was at that other place. :)

Welcome again Infamy of Crete.

Somebody asked me about my education and background at another forum and hasn't given me the satisfaction of a reply yet - so I thought I would take the opportunity to talk about myself here. :P

I’ve lived a lot of places before where I’m at now, several of them more than once. Kansas, Montana, Minneapolis, Chicago, LA, Kansas (again), Rhode Island, Salt Lake, Rhode Island (again), Minneapolis (again), then back to Salt Lake - (again).

I studied theater design at the Goodman School of Drama / DePaul University in Chicago and industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design on nearly full scholarships. I’ve considered an advanced degree, but it holds little value for my line of work and I remain indecisive about what I would want to study and if “personal development” is a worthy reason to pursue another degree.

I have a great little family.

I’m active in my religion.

I’m the principal of a design firm that creates branded environments.

I facilitate men’s work, think Robert Bly. My mission is to reach my full potential by helping other people to recognize theirs.

I have a chronic genetic degenerative disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis where my immune system eats my cartilage so my bones fuse together and I loose range of movement. I’ve had symptoms since I was 17 but wasn’t dx’d until I was 27, it hurts a lot, but I’ve got it under control.

I ski, hike, camp and climb.

I read books.

I’d like to to make custom Star Wars stuff rugged enough to be played with.

I’d give my left nut to be on Survivor.

I’m 32 years old.

A: Not at all/A TON!!!

I work two flights of stairs above my bedroom. It's in the remodeled attic, and I really love the sweet set up I have there.

Good news = the office isn't far.
Bad news = the office isn't far.

I'm planning on joining a firm as a partner next quarter, and it will be about 35 to 45 minutes each way. I'm looking forward to the decompression/transition time, and in a sick way sad about the loss of billable time. I'm a sicko!

Jim,

My family sends our condolences. Hang in there.

Welcome! I recognize you from other places. Nicely written position Infamy of Crete. I can see exactly where you’re coming from, although I’m an opener and have down graded to way non-complete since 1999.

I don’t think anyone will tell you you’re stupid around here, it’s not that kind of place and there’s really little pay in it. It sounds like you’ve got you want out of the hobby in perspective, so it’s probably natural to start posting less over time, especially when the replies are argumentative.

I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you find this to be a different kind of forum. I know I have. This community isn’t like other places I’ve tried to discuss serious topics like toys. I look forward to good discussions with you around the boards here!

Oh, and one more thing:

Yes I'm a bit of an            a' whole.

You can say ass here. Doesn’t this place just rule more and more? ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 5 free songs at iTunes - Your picks
« on: March 13, 2004, 02:25 PM »
i hope you didnt type that list of songs
Eh!

I'd say go with some John Williams... I don't remember seeing him... Of course, I feel like I just read the phone book of music and might have forgotten he's in there.  ;D

John Williams? Now that's a constructive suggestion! I hadn't even considered him. I'd looked through a few soundtracks, but nothing clicked yet. I'm thinking of some Dylan, Orbison or Cash as well. I love "Ring of Fire", but probably wouldn't buy the whole album.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was a pretty active poster there at the time, and always a little surprised they didn't say something like "oh yeah, you're Deanpaul... I recognize you from your avatar." Because as you know, this hobby is all about me. ;)

Yeah, now that's what I'm talkin' about!  At least you get it Dp!   8)

BTW, I recognized you from your avatar when we met up here in L.A. a few months ago!   ;)

Yeah, I think we've all been there at least once.

I'm trying to convince Kris (my better half) that going to CIII next year will be a defining moment for me and that I really should start planning to go. And that she should support me, and want me to go... She agreees that it will be a defining moment, but rather one defining that I have officially gone off the deep end. I think that would be a good place to try and connect with other forums members.

"Oh sure, you're Deanpaul... I recognize you from your avatar. You post all that stupid crap about iTunes songs, and all those bloated self-important pictures of figures in your reviews." [Followed by a quick sucker punch like my sister would always get me with.]

Now be a doll and go tell me which 5 songs I should pick up over in my iTunes thread.
