Revenge of the Sith / Re: Battle Packs (5 figure sets)
« on: April 8, 2005, 02:00 PM »
Ughhh, there a far better choices that could've been made here...

A cool ESB theme should include:

-Stormtrooper (commtech, VOTC too expensive for Hasbro)
-Vader (the good one from OTC?)
-Han Bespin (from POTJ)
-Boba Fett (300th)
-Chewie (Saga rehit)

Nobody wants that lumber chopping Luke - give us the soft goods Jedi Luke.

I've always wanted a Bespin dinner diorama set - I know it doesn't fit into a five pack, but it would make a good $35-40 set.

Make it like the trash compactor set - two separate sets, each set has one half of the table!  Blister pack Han's rifle in mid air - that would be cool.

 :-X

I really like the new Vader and Emperor - I really only buy the ones I like.  Though I can't seem to find the ones I really want!   :P

The stormtrooper and IG-88 to name a few....never shipped to my area....too many Dooku's and Windu's warming the pegs.

At TRU, too many Hoth Lukes and Chewies (worst Unleashed to date)!

You know, I wouldn't be all too surprised if that Sidious scaled saber on BB.com was just the regular release, NOT the smoked one.

There is no mention in th description that it is the exclusive version and one would think by now that it would be sold out because of it's limited 2500 pc run...

Hasbro realized too late that they dropped the ball with Obi Wan in clone armor when they did the 2nd wave of CW animated figures.

Now they are trying redeem themselves with minimal tooling investment - the result - horse ****.

This can't be for real!

I'm more of a Breakfast Club fan myself.

$5.50 is better than SWshop's price - $12.99!!!!!   ;D :o

Seriously, what's the dealio with that?!

I know you get a star case, but who wants a star case with a $5-6 figure?

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?
« on: April 7, 2005, 01:46 PM »

50 SA Clones, 50 Tank Drivers, 2 more Grevious Body Guards, a handful of Wookie Warriors and Utapu Warriors, and a few more odds and ends.

Of course, it's very unlikely that I'll come across 50 of those two, but who knows...

Thank god we don't shop in the same town...

Vator,

It's Republic, not Republican army -  though I'm sure Zod will chime in with some smart ass comment.... :P

At the risk of running further off topic, I'm just going to add that I don't use Cntrl when printing-screen either. I'm guessing it's just unncessary and certain people don't know.

And it's difficult to do if you're using two monitors without copying both screens.

I've been banned from Rebelscum.

I'm a little late in reading this, and can't believe it.

Talk about soap opera bull **** - you've been a valued contributor to RS compared to all of the other turds over there, I can't believe that they would ditch one of their more "intelligent" members (though that's not saying much)

He, he - mine has a red saber and I opened it.

Oh well, price you pay for being an opener I guess!   ;D

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wal-Mart "Early Bird" Exclusive
« on: April 7, 2005, 09:23 AM »
I'm happy that the figures are new tools, but not overly excited about what they are - it is a good thing though that they are 3 3/4 scale!

I think I'll use my backdrop for my loose vintage figures and just display the early bird modern figures with the rest of my ****.

I think Best Buy's only carrying the exclusive one, and not any others. As far as I know, there's really no "retail" type of stores that carry these, but WM.com does, which obviously doesn't help you with the shipping issue though. I think they're usually just found online, or in specialty/novelty/comic/collectible type of shops for the most part. I think places like Suncoast were carrying them too. Maybe Jason or some other folks could chime in with some other suggestions though...

Do you have the first couple series of these as well, Travis - or are you just getting started on them?

I have the Jedi set and Sith set from last year.  I'm really not interested in the "smoked" / "silver" / "gold" versions as I try to keep as close to the movie as I can, plus I only want to display three cases - sith, jedi, ROTS.

Problem is there is a fourth one, Yoda's, that I don't have room for....

I'd like to find the regular ROTS mini sabers at Best Buy - save some $$ on shipping.

What other brick and mortar outlets carry these?
