The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: November 2, 2011, 02:13 PM »
Found a whole fresh case of Wave 11 at the local Target today, on my birthday.  ;D

Having doubles now of all of them, I left them for the next lucky soul, but it was great to see Seripas hanging on the pegs. Heck, it was great to see all of them.

Still not sure what to do about Wave 12. That whole "last wave in the old packaging" fear has me a little worried.

There was some buzz out of NYCC I believe, that these may be in limbo or scrapped altogether. That seems like a stretch since the tooling, etc is already done and the figures are ready to go. You can still find Scythe and Gearshift on eBay loose.

But no, definitely no domestic sightings yet. Toy Palace has the 2 packs but they are the foreign versions without the actual DVD's.

A decent effort, seemed like an episode more focused on laying thr groundwork for future plot development.

The Asian kid and redhead making goo goo eyes, more backstory on Darryl, Dale/Andrea tension, etc.

I guess the black dude is going to heal up and come back from crazytown?

Not much a surprise at the end there. You had to figure when they cut away there was going to be a "reveal" later on. Poor Otis. He really should have used that last bullet on Shane.

Not sure what to make of the Travis Bickle moment. His character treads the line between good and evil anyway, so hard to say if he is really going off the deep end at this point. (BTW ladies - you can close your drooling mouths now, yes dude has nice abs)

I had to watch the scene with him and the wife twice at the end to figure out what she said. At first I assumed it was just "Thanks" but the second time it sounded like she said "Stay". Yeah, great idea honey.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Latest vintage acqusition

This doesn't really qualify as vintage per se, but I was able to finally pick up 2 of the 3 Herculoids Toynami sets on eBay this weekend.

Those things are typically prohibitively expensive, but a few went up recently that had low starting bids.

Perfect timing with the show just coming out on DVD, etc.

Saw some nice vintage stuff today at a local comic convention. Carded Hoth Han ($150), carded Boba Fett ($500), etc. I picked up a loose Darth Vader for $10 because it had a perfect original lightsaber. I think the one I have already is tweaked somehow.

They had a nice bin of loose vintage Stormtroopers too, in various stages of degradation. Also a few Imperial Guards and even a Sim Aloo.

Hells yeah!

That was probably the best thing I've seen since the Geonosis arc. That's really the show at its absolute best, IMO.

Loved seeing the AT-RT's in action although they really should have thought about throwing a little shielding or something on there. Those things were dropping like flies. It must be sweet to be a driver though cause those guys didn't have to hike for 12 hours straight.  :D

The Umbarans were freaking cool as hell too, but why would you need a helmet to survive the atmosphere on your own planet?

Krell is gonna be one hefty mass of plastic on his inevitable card. Was not expecting him to be such a jagoff though, wow.

So much awesome toy fodder too. At least another re-deco AT-RT and driver, maybe the cool translucent flying skate thing, the sweet ass double-barreled Umbaran artillery. So many new flavor Clone Armors!

Speaking of which, Hardcase is now officially my favorite clone, dude is balls nasty! I can see why they gave him a spot in that upcoming battlepack. Hope he survives the arc.

Big ups to Matt for helping me out with a spare Seripas in exchange for a Ponda Baba. Plus he was cool enough to throw in a free A-Wing pilot just for kicks.  :)

Thanks bro!

Yeah, I can't disagree, $14.99 is the MSRP but TRU has them for $16.99 and my local comic shop has them for $17.95 each, so not many good options out there.

I did cave and buy the B&W Rick Grimes variant and the exclusive B&W Walker/Lurker 2-pack today. (That last one is not available @ TRU BTW)

After looking them over again I just decided these are too cool to pass up. Detachable limbs? Removable organs? Face splitting action? Oh hell yes.

May try to see if I can pick up the rest on the cheap via eBay. I am actually more interested in the TV versions, but I guess those are the second wave slated for November.

Finally saw these at TRU, pretty sure I will be unable to resist these. They just look too cool, and it's a small line I can easily accommodate right now. I just wish the pricing was better, $16.99 is a little steep, IMO.

Has anyone spotted these anyplace other than online or at TRU? I guess they are probably too gruesome for Walmart or Target, but I was hoping some comic shops or Hot Topic might carry them.

I turned it off after it was 7-4 in the eighth.  ::)

STL has consistently choked so hard in this series there didn't seem to be any point to keep watching.

I have to say I'm sorry I missed it. Sounded like an epic collapse.

Yeah Pete, I saw Eeth Koth on the pegs today at Walmart actually. LMK if you want me to try and snag that for you. That's awesome you are starting to see some more Wave 10 hit. No such luck here.

AMC just renewed them for Season 3, gotta love the quick pick-up. Both episodes this season have been ratings gold apparently.

I agree, up with Darryl, down with Shane.

I still want to know why Half Blood Prince is not available On Demand or via Red Box. It's like the only way to see that movie is to frigging buy it. Stupid.

Yeah, I came across remnants of 3 more cases of Wave 10 last night, surprisingly at a Walmart here. First time I have seen new TCW figures there in literally months. El-Les sure seems like it has some pegwarming potential. They really should have packed Season 3 Ahsoka in his place for this wave. Another missed opportunity.
