Cade Bane tops it for me with the figures. He can be used flawlessly with the regular ones.
The Y-Wing, Turbo Tank, and Octupura droid were the best vehicles. Really, it seemed that this year the Clone Wars line got some of the best vehicles all around.

I got the DVD for Christmas and found it quite funny and vulgar in the typical Family Guy style! Seth McFarland does a good job spoofing the Star Wars films. I will agree that this one was not as funny as the first - The Empire Strikes Back is a much more serious film and a lot less corny than ANH, so it would seem that there is less material to spoof. The Family Guy ROTJ should be pretty good as there's lots of corny material in that film that can be made fun of easily

Something like that Zero-G Stormtrooper suit pictured above was included in the "X-Wing Alliance" simulator game from 10 years ago. In the game they were something more of a minnature starfighter used for boarding operations, etc. they They were really annoying little things, which although slow, were hard to hit and quite effective when used en masse. In the game they had the lazers and could carry a concussion missile for added firepower. I rather like the Zero G trooper shown in the above EU figure wave, but like Jesse noted, would rather have something bulkier like that pictured above. Guess I should track down some GI Joe Serpent armor

Jesse James brings up some interesting points in his post regarding the prices, and I will have to agree with him. I have the CW Y-Wing and it is a good attempt by Hasbro, but falls short of what it could have been, especially for the price. While it was a ship that I had to get, it was by no means a bargain for the $70 I spent on it. Large vehicles do not need to be cut out completely, however. What Hasbro needs to do is simply adjust their prices better for what they make or simply make fewer of the larger more detailed items and cater those items towards the collector market that is getting them.
I am first and foremost a collector of the 1:18 scale military items Jesse James mentioned above and the ratio of detail versus the price point have always been greater than what Hasbro has offered. Really one cannot compare a 1:18 scale P-51D Mustang made by 21st Century Toys to the similar-priced Hasbro X-Wing and never mind the larger 1:18 scale aircraft and vehicles. It only seems that in recent years Hasbro is addressing the detail issue on their vehicles, so we get items like the new AT-ST and retooled TIE Interceptor that start to better approach the scale and level of detail that is seen in the military collecting world. Greater levels of detail will necessitate higher pirces, but that would make the items more worth it in the end.
What is all the more interesting is that the companies that produced the 1:18 military items were much smaller than Hasbro and catered to a very limited collector market. That limited focus did spell the demise of two companies that produced the models - most notably 21st Century Toys - but that company was tiny with nowhere near the staff, organization, or market clout that Hasbro possesses. Far more people buy and collect Star Wars items than 1:18 scale aircraft and tanks, however, the 1:18 manufacturers traditionally kept their prices low on more complex models and with a fraction of the resources that Hasbro possesses and only a fraction of the conusmers.
That said, I really see no reason why Hasbro cannot continue to make larger, better scaled, and highly detailed toys/models even if they were produced on a limited scale and geared more towards collectors. They would be able to spare the resources and still turn a profit.

Yes, there was. It was in a McQuarrie production painting for ESB. The painting is really rather cool, showing the blue cloud car in the forground, viewed from slightly behind, with a Thranta flying creature approaching it. The scene is set over the Cloud City highrises with a storm cloud backdrop. It is in the "Illustrated Star Wars Universe" book. The blue cloud car has some design differences over the final version, but looks close enough. Blue would be a cool color for that vehicle

I want to say that the new AT-ST and the improved TIE Interceptor were the best vehicles I got this year, however, I did technically pick up my big Millenium Falcon this year (January 2009) and that just about tops any vehicle made for the modern Star Wars line in my opinion Other vehicles were also well done, including the Magna Guard P-38, Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, Octapura Droid, Republic Fighter tank, and even the CW Y-Wing to an extent.
Figures are a little more difficult for me as I sort of pick and choose with them, liking some and not others. To just name a few, I liked the ANH Spacetrooper, Rebel Technician (from the Yavin Scramble pack), the ANH Obi Wan Kenobi, Imperial Scanner tech, Snowspeeder pilot Luke, and of course, Willrow Hood

I recently begun a weathering project on my Y-Wing. The factory-fresh gloss of it was just disconcerting, especially since the Star Wars universe was always so dirty. The process is far from complete, but basically, I gave the vehicle a wash with charcoal pastel and sealed it with dullcote. There will still be more details to include such as oil stains, lazer burns, exhaust stains, etc. but even with a dirty wash over it, the Y-Wing looks better in my opinion. I'll post pictures eventually.

This looks cool I'm not sure I like the pop-out missiles too much, but that is certainly not a deal-breaker and adds a lot of functionality to the model. I got a vintage Cloud Car last year in an ebay auction with two of the Saga Cloud Car pilot figures. That is a pretty accurate tooling itself, but this one seems more fun. I'll be down for it should it come out.

This looks good. I've got the Wal Mart and Target exclusive snowspeeders released over the past several years, but will certainly get this more accurate tooling. I like the detailed direction Hasbro is going with the Star Wars items

The sculpt shown does not seem to be a new tooling - which is fine by me as the A-Wing's sculpting still ranks as one of my favortie Kenner/Hasbro Star Wars vehicles in terms of looks and general accuracy. That said, the blue concept A-Wing would be great! I thought about getting another Crynyd A-Wing last year to paint one myself, but never got around to it...

Tonight's episode... where the Geonosian worms infect the ship, the clones, Bariss Ofee... I'm very tempted to consider this the best episode of the season so far.
It was dark, creepy, and perhaps captured some of the conflicting emotions and feelings that should have been in ROTS better than that movie itself. The worms infecting the clones and causing them to attack the Jedi had the Order 66 feel to it - even one of the clones commented that it was their duty to attack the Jedi. Bariss coming under the control of the parasite and attacking Ashoka had the whole Jedi vs Sith (or Anakin vs Obi Wan) feel to it, though it ended on a more positive note. Then there was Anakin's interrogation of Poggle - the most Vader-like Anakin has acted in the CW series, complete with Vader's musical theme (the Imperial March) playing in the background.
Again, I really enjoyed this episode

Within the past few days, my faith in Hasbro's distribution has been restored. Finding the new ESB, ROTS, Clone Wars waves within the past couple of days as well as having already had the ANH and ROTJ waves available for weeks in my area has confirmed that Hasbro will pull through. The large Wal Mart displays with all the ships and new figures by the dozens are further evidence of this
