The Prequel Trilogy / Re: What does Commander Codys sholderpad say?

That looked liek a scrape to me, not writing.  Maybe it's a love letter to his Clone wife of Zam Wessel?

Hey!  That Snowman's a proud family heirloom, thank you very much, and so's my Beretta, and don't you forget it!

I like Obi-Wan, hate the cloak. :)  Just to clarify...  But yeah, a softgoods Anakin cloak would've worked AOK...  And honestly, can softgoods accessories REALLY be that detrimental from a cost standpoint?  Compared to a newly sculpted robe they're not even close, but at this point it seems all exclusives will be half-assed.

Bail...  Meh.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Carkoon Wave
« on: October 12, 2005, 02:07 AM »
Bib's even cooler than I thought, and for those who didn't know, his knife accessory is accurate and from the film but didn't seem to appear anywhere.  The accessory showed up in the Vis. Dictionary for the Classic Trilogy though if I recall correctly.  So it's really cool that the little dagger shows up as his accessory.  Be cool if they managed to get a working holster hidden on him somewhere that hides the little hold-out blaster he supposedly had as well, but whatever.

Boussh looks great...  I'm just curious about the arm articulation and the detonator's removability (which I'm assuming it is removable, but I could see it not being).

Han's my biggest disappointment...  I really think knee articulation was a must, as this figure should've equalled the Cantina wave in overall quality.  Han wasn't a statue at the battle, he was actually quite active, and while the arm articulation's good enough, the legs needed extra umph.  I will say the headsculpt's grown on me and looks a lot more like Ford than it seemed at first.  The sculpt overall is quite nice actually.

Barada and Fett are pretty much a pass, definitely for Fett who I have both his variations already anyway.  Chewie I keep thinking I want the chain accessory, especially if there's a collar that comes off there that I can transfer it to a VOTC Chewie I have waiting for just this purpose.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: EE Exclusive Astromech 5-Packs
« on: October 12, 2005, 02:01 AM »
My beef's the latter part of your statement Jeff...  Individual sets shouldn't sell for that much.  EE should be divvying them out for better than that considering it's not like the Clones where they run the chance of being stuck with one set over the other really...  It's just down to gouging in my eyes then.

The Clones...  I'm still bitter over that.  An army builder set you can't really army build with, without paying an arm and a leg to do so.  Not cool.  I lucked into finding someone who only wanted Officers so I got two sets and sold him the Officers and kept the troops...  Gave me more than average, and when going in on cases like that it worked out great, but 16 white clones isn't as many as I WOULD have bought if these were truly "for the army building crowd" and were fairly priced.

Hell if buying a single set of astromechs was more fairly priced, I'd have bought 2 sets, but instead I'm getting one from the case the local guys got together on.  Once again the price will keep me from buying as many as I WOULD have otherwise, just as with the Clones.

Toy Reviews / Re: Clone Trooper to Stormtrooper Evolutions

There's not one here...  yet.  ;)  But good review.  Taking on the big 3-figure set's daunting, I can sympathize (just recently, I can sympathize).

I agree totally Mike, and that's why I'm not totally against the #6 being re-used for repaints/variations.  That said, I see people's gripes and I think that if Hasbro were wise they could/should re-release all 3 Clone sculpts (TE Gunner being counted as basically a basic grunt's sculpt) with all the color variations possible...

IE: A #41 re-release with blue 501st markings, red shocktrooper markings, maybe grey Coruscant markings, and Yellow Utapau markings...  Then release the #6 with the Utapau Markings, blue 501st, etc...  And the same with the AT-TE Gunner who's got the blue markings so release him with the red shocktrooper markings, Utapau Markings, etc...

To me that's the best way to go, to make everyone happy.  It's not like they don't have time.  Clones, and their variants, could be mixed into the line indefinately really.

That's a good gripe, about the softgoods robe Matt.  It's probably the only "flaw" on the figure, and seeing as how they did a nice enough one for the Evolutions Anakin I really feel they could've just done the same robe and packed it with Obi-Wan and made many-a-fan happy.

I too hope this figure's re-used for some "variants" and an E2 version so here's to hoping Hasbro sees the potential there.

I wonder which year they'll finally say screw it and just leave a Christmas aisle up as a permanent spot within the stores.  WM I could see doing it right away and just making it part of the lawn/garden center.

Worth taking a gander in it to see some of the others I guess...  I am not big on the thoughts of getting into another toy line, but this one I could make an exception for I think.

Paul, I have a loose one but his crotch has whitened slightly from a failed boiling attempt.  If you need a perfect figure I can't help unfortunately.   :-\  If you need something for a custom, it's a complete figure and in-tact.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: NEW TIE Fighter
« on: October 10, 2005, 05:55 PM »
I was observing that they aren't fast sellers here either, which I think is somewhat proof that there's a certain pricepoint where what people want and what people say they want are two different things, and that's about $40 I'd say.

I got 2...  Some stores have none on the shelves however I did a DPCI check at a store devoid of TIE's just out of curiosity and there they were in the back it said, so I dunno what to think about this one.  Clearance-bound they may be, which I sorta am hoping for so I can get a 3rd one (or more if they're cheap enough).

When the ARC-170 didn't move well at $30 I really began to think that ships are a dead thing for Star Wars.  An all-new and fairly nicely done ship for $30's a rarity for Hasbro, and for it to just sit there at that price is the kinda thing that is a death nail for future hopes.  The TIE's not gonna help matters even though I do believe it is overpriced personally.

I love the TIE but in my area I'd say I usually see one at every Target, one Target has 2 out still I'm sure, and then this one with none on the shelves had them in the back (or so the compy says).  That's not boding well for it.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Gunship - Where the hell is it?!
« on: October 10, 2005, 05:50 PM »
Don't give up...  Keep plugging away.  I went the day the Target Clone was due to release and scored 2 that day so there's luck if you go immediately...  Just gotta be on the ball I guess.

I've heard tell that the Gunship was at KB Toys up here around Pittsburgh as well, and I don't believe it was overpriced compared to elsewhere.  So that's good news for people still hunting that thing down.
