I was getting antsy on these, and I know I'm not going to be out shopping at WalMart any time soon, so I paid the scalper price for the wave on eBay just to be done with it. I've never had good luck with WalMart's website (when I do manage to get preorders they gt cancelled anyway) and this summer is not looking good for hunting.

I felt like I woke up after a ten year coma... when I was in college I didn't buy a Vinyl Caped Jawa because I thought $250 was crazy for one.  Now they're $1300+

Wait, you can wake up from a coma?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How's everyone doing?!

Why not?

I work in an industry deemed "essential," so my job was not affected (yet.)

Ohio was pretty early to adopt the "Stay at Home" protocols, and my sons' last day of school was March 13th. The struggle we found ourselves in was the complete withdrawal of all the supports and therapies for my younger son, who is diagnosed with severe autism. In addition to the 30 hours of school a week, he is supposed to receive 24 hours of home aide service, and a few hours of home therapy as well. All of that disappeared overnight and his mother and I were left with no support in caring for him. Even our normal coping mechanisms--A trip to the zoo! Hanging out at the mall! Go visit Grandma!--were unavailable. And, as he is nonverbal, he could not understand what was happening, just that his routine and all the things he likes to do were gone.

After the first ten days of home restriction he was a complete wreck and in severe danger of needing to be hospitalized. I talked to his doctor and my company and decided to take a leave of absence at work just to be home for his support. I should be able to do this for a month or so before being financially forced back to work. It seems we will have in-home aid back by then, and I have seen signs he is adjusting ever so slowly to this new reality. His older brother, on the other hand, is adjusting well to online schooling and video calls with his school friends to stay connected. And lots of Fortnite!

My big fear now is, should one or all of us fall victim to the virus itself, there is going to be no way possible to care for my youngest, and then hospitalization (and quarantine?) loom large for him again...and I haven't been able to get a straight answer anywhere as to what that reality might even look like. It's a scary prospect.

Stay safe everybody!

Man, I put my ITT through its paces back in the 70's, I was very eager to get this one. When it arrived last week, my 10-year old played with it for about an hour (which is unheard of for non-Lego toys around here!) He even went in his room and dug out a Stormtrooper figure he had stashed somewhere (who is now living in one of the side compartments for posterity.) I put it on display with some other "not in the movies" Imperial soldiers...

I am very pleased with it, but upon further inspection I think mine might be slightly defective...it appears to be missing a layer of the paint wash on the removable roof panel.  :'(

Same boat here. My Target did get cleaned out before the TROS wave hit, but after a few cases of those trickled through we got a couple of the Snoke Wave 1 cases and never saw the Jawa/Shadowtrooper wave.

What is even more frustrating, before Christmas a local children's charity came in and wiped out that Target's toy section, including all the Star Wars figures in all 3 scales. I thought for sure that solved the Wave One problem, but after a week or so of empty pegs, we got blasted exclusively with Jyns and Snokes. A couple weeks back a lone Rey Jakku joined them, but since then the endcap display that had it's own peg has come down and the aisle pegs are clogged. I have given up on that store and now stalk the WalMart down the street, which has 3 pegs sharing a lone Jawa.

Good luck...

It is weird that they left out the Dagobah Luke that won the fan poll last year...

That seems to be an exclusive.  IIRC, Jayson posted a shelf tag for a Dagobah Luke with Yoda deluxe set that is turning up at TRU in Canada.  I guess the US retailer is still TBD.

Looking into it, Dagobah Luke is coming on the 40th card in a wave 3 Hasbro didn't announce, along with Vader, Chewie, Boba Fett, and a Snowtrooper. Wonder why these didn't get mentioned at all?

As long as they don’t do another 18-variant prototype figure at comic con I can live with these being a little bit of a pain in the ass.

At the same time, how could they pass up the opportunity to do a first shot Boba Fett...just think of the rocket color variations alone!

I'm sure Jayson will have the waves all figured out before whatever convention is planned to reveal them.

Well, that was sure faster than I was expecting!  Rumored case contents from Jayson/Yakface:

Power Droid (ANH)
Airborne Trooper (ROTS)
Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper Disguise)
K-2SO (Rogue One)

Will be interesting to see which one is the 3x per case...

There's no way it isn't the Luke at 3 per, right?

There is an ESB board game coming too, but the rumor is the pack in figures for that are the ESB versions of Artoo and Threepio.

I haven't heard a rumored new figure yet...

Edit: after a little search I see it is coming with a Snowspeeder Luke figure. Awesome!!

I am shocked they went with the Hoth Leia over Bespin Leia...I figured they would stick with the 1980 figures across the board.

Hope these are easier to find in store this time, and if so that Wave One makes it back around the same way!

I have seen several people mention an ESB themed playset for the Vintage Collection this year, but so far no hints as far as what it could be. I am assuming they will follow the pattern set by the Jabba's Palace playset last year and give us a nice diorama backdrop ans some carded figures.

My gut keeps going back to the Echo Base computer terminals that were tooled up years ago and wondering if they will use those to do a Rebel Command Center playset. Just off the top off my head they could card Torryn Farr and K-3PO for new Vintage Collection figures without having to do any new work.

On the other hand I would love to see something Cloud City specific, and there are a few figures from that environment that could be put on vintage cards to help finish the "Collect all 92" update. I don't know if the Carbon Freezing Chamber would work well in the established format, but I'd like to see them try Vader's Dining Room.

I am so okay with this I am borderline pleased to hear it. I am tired of the writing being weighed as less important than the scheduled release date. I can wait for quality.

I feel guilty that I pointed the whole thing out in the first place.

I am in business with Chris from Fans Strike Back right now, when they were just starting up in late 2018 they requested an exclusive Cardboard Galaxy piece they could sell in their store and around Thanksgiving we were able to hit on something I could supply for their customers to buy, so my perspective is probably skewed...

I would say they seem to usually do runs of their custom figures before putting them up for sale, so the pre-sell method is probably something they are still on a learning curve for. It stinks that you are coming up on the limit for PayPal protection though. That makes the purchase tougher to justify.
