I really like my Wall Playset, but there are two knocks against it for using it as a Star Wars display:

1--The foot pegs are too large for modern SW figures. this wouldn't be as big of an issue if the ground had any kind of flat spots, but it is all smooth rolling mounds that entice unpegged figures to fall down. I didn't try any of the vintage Kenner figures, but they may fit the pegs. More importantly,

2--the playset is designed with the wooden platform at the top as an integral part. Without it you have a big weird hole in the top of the display. I have thought about coming up with something Hoth-ish to cover the hole, but the inspiration has never hit.

Tyrion is the only figure I own now, but I would like to go back and get some of the Crows and Free Folk to display on there. Pity the themed nature of the release and the paint-app issues killed the line after one wave.

Crait battle pack for $10 with free shipping on Hasbro's eBay page:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Force-Link-Battle-Crait-3-75-inch-Figure-4-Pack-/323584214408

At that price I couldn't resist for the troops...

A great set as far as "kids play value" goes, IMHO. 2 good guys, 2 bad guys.

This was another one that I felt was tailor-made for a Sears-style cardstock playset/backdrop:

Please check my notes

Is the R2-D2 a repack?

Believe it or not, it is the same R2 that cost $8 in 2017 in the TLJ line, and then $10 in 2018 in the GOA tubes.

...now yours for $13.

New rumors at Yakface.com

If Rey = London, then I'm guessing Cairo is probably Poe based on the leaked photos of his outfit for Ep9.

Cairo Ren?  :D

I'll see myself out...

Update on my order: I reached out via the WalMart "chat" and they told me that since I made my purchase with a guest account that it would not be visible to me until they send a shipping notification. (When I asked why I was able to see it yesterday, they told me they could transfer me to tech support. I declined.)

Their stance was that the order was still in the process of being fulfilled. I told them the timeliness of the promised delivery yesterday was a big factor for me. They offered to cancel the order and give me a $15 eGift Card for the trouble. I took that offer.

Sorry Lando, I gave up on ya! If I see you in the store while looking for the Adventure Playset, we will reconsider.

Mine says it is arriving today but is still tagged as "preparing order" as well.

I guess that explains the mystery of why they didn't sell out immediately. (some/most of us should probably expect to have our orders cancelled once the stock does become available.)

Today, refreshing the same window that told me they were "preparing order" yesterday, now tells me I haven't ordered anything from them in the last 6 months. My bank account would beg to differ--the payment is still pending there. I have received no cancellation email (never mind a shipping notice!) The order has simply disappeared.

I guess it was just an April Fool's prank. Except for the pending bank authorization, I feel so apathetic about all this. If anything, it makes me anticipate this figure much much less.

So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the two spare displays.

I am on the opposite side of this dilemma. I need the display/playset (I have customers who want me to design inserts for the doorways and flooring panels) but am not interested in the figures.

I figured I would be selling the figures on eBay or my FaceBook page, but if there are enough people looking to unload spare playsets, maybe that would be my best route?

It is all going to depend how plentiful they are at the store, ultimately.

The sad thing is, I read "American Man" yesterday and just totally assumed that was a real modern extension of things. Like, a He-Man variant in Mechaneck colors or something.

Solo: A Star Wars Story / Re: Solo 3.75" Figure 2-Packs
« on: March 26, 2019, 01:27 AM »

While checking some things at EE today, I noticed that the status of the former TRU exclusive C3PO/R2D2 2-pack has been changed to Cancelled

I'll be a bit disappointed if the status change is true - I didn't really need another 5POA C3PO or R2D2 figure but it's a sad omen for EE's ability to rescue things from the scrap heap in the future.  Also makes me wonder if the variant A-Wing is going to end up cancelled too?

While it slipped through EE's fingers, the Threepio/Artoo pack has been on Amazon for $14.99. I have been hemming and hawing about pulling the trigger for a month now.

And now I am even more undecided. The window may be closing, but Jesse confirms the nonvac Threepio is turdtastic...

Dude.  Couldn't buy them and offer them up to those of us who want them?  I'd pay retail + shipping!  :D

I saw them again this week and did pick up two with the sole purpose of helping out my JD brothers...because of the overwhelming guilt!!!

Matt (or anyone still looking for these) hit me up if you want.

Sorry...if I hadn't been four hours from home...wiping out someone else's area seems like bad toy karma. :P

Saw a lot of posts from different Star Wars collecting groups on FB showing people finding these in Walmarts now.  Keep your eyes peeled!

I can confrim this!

I was in Western PA yesterday and saw 8 Mimban Stormtroopers in one store, hanging in front of wave one leftovers. I thought about getting one but the paint work for the "dirty" effect just didn't do it for me.

If it's articulation and assembly that really drives up Hasbro's costs, it might be in their interests to start producing more "display wall" playsets like this that are largely a hunk of detailed plastic without all that much production assembly.

Imagine how quickly they could put the Space Walls guys out of business with a cheaper product of the same quality, you mean?

I loved this game as a kid...I played it before I saw the movie even! This was an easy pick up for me, and  I will gladly take the Retro Tarkin. Win-win for me!
