Sorry Dale I for one have seen nothing about it. After I looked at your link though I am very curious as to what it is.

I have no idea. Maybe it's one of those Minifig 3 packs with the cards? I noticed it had 6 pieces, and said it was classified as "Trading Cards".

Well, there is finally some info and pics regarding this item over at FBTB.net . It is indeed 3 mini LEGO sets that are promos and seem, as of now, to be Japanese exclusives.

The 3 sets are Boba Fett's Slave I, which is similiar to the series 1 Slave I mini, except a couple different colored pieces, I think. Then there is the X-Wing, which seems to be the same as the series 1 model. And an all new Tie Intercepter.

No word yet on if or when these will be available in the states.

That I am not sure of. I should be getting an email from HLJ that my order was shipped sometime this month. I'm taking a gamble on this that there are 2 of each in the box.

Update, I guess there is 2 of each in the case according to some auctions I just saw on eBay. They mention it in the description.

Lego by KABAYA JAPAN UNOPENED BOX (6) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1186&item=5901386435&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

Sounds like I got the better deal so far.  ;D

I just check down at the local supermarket, where I think they will be selling these sometime soon, but there were none in. I think they will be selling them for about $5 with a couple of pieces of gum included. I'll let you all know if they appear on the shelves.

What's with the bags?  That's strange...  I though these were coming in small cardboard boxes, based on the images I've seen around the net.

I'd prefer the boxes myself.  Not so cheap looking.  Anyone have any idea what the difference is, and if there are different offers or retail outlets that are giving out the two separate types of packaging?

Well, the Mini TIE Fighter came in a bag (Well, the pieces anyway).

I hope there's some way to get the Slave 1 and the Interceptor over here, though this may be Lego's way of apologizing to overseas fans since we got the Mini TIE.

That are what I got from the retail shop in Hong Kong. Not sure if there is another packing ???

I'll be interested to find out for sure.  Those bags look cheap, and don't display well next to the rest of the other set's boxes.  (yeah, I'm that anal)

I'll get 'em either way, but I'd just prefer the nicer look, and more sturdy and permanent packaging of a cardboard box.  Once you've cut a bag open, it's not so hot for storage purposes any more...   :-\

Simon, are they in bags or boxes or both as in bags in the boxes? This would help to solve a little mystery we have here in the above posts.  ;)

Also, are there 2 sets in a box of 6?  :-\

Don't forget that you're still holding onto a set of all 3 for me Simon!  (to ship with the eventual TRU Kubrick boxset)   ;)

I should shoot you some moolah for those, since it sounds like the boxset's still going to be awhile...  I'll drop you a line when I do - maybe tomorrow, if I remember.

The boxes are small, 5 1/4" x 4" x 3/4".  I guess the parts are in a baggie but I won't know as mine will stay sealed!  :P

Nice little store display box too!  8)

Nice pickup there Dale.  I'm gonna have to wait a while to get mine from Simon, since I asked him to toss them in with the Kubrick boxset to save on shipping costs.

So just how big (small) are the boxes?  A lot smaller than the previous regular plastic ones?
Title: Re: Kabaya Star Wars Lego
Post by: DSJ™ on September 4, 2004, 01:11 AM
The boxes are 5 1/2" x 4" x 1 1/4". The top has a pull tab to get inside. Set up the same as the Konami boxes I get from HLJ.

How the **** do I ever miss this thread?  Big fan of the mini Lego line and to see two new ships is cool.  Are these still readily available over in Japan?  Might have to look into it.

Well, you haven't seen any new ones, or heard about anything in the pipeline in over a year, have ya' Trav?   ;)

The entire Lego line has pretty much taken 2004 off, so maybe with the ROTS release, Lego will surprise us and pump some more mini ships out, but I'm not getting my hopes up...   :-\

Still there. (http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?KBA15850)  Looks like it's a box of 6 randomly packed sets (for $27), which seems like it should reasonably assure you of one of each of the X-Wing, Tie Interceptor, and AOTC Slave 1 - but you never know...

Glad I got me some from Simon recently, to polish off the mini line finally.

I would say you get 3 of each, thats what I got in my case of 6. So did you open up the boxes yet Matt?

Mr. Mathematically challenged:  That would be 9 total pieces.  The box has 6.  I'd say maybe 2 of each then, eh?

Haven't opened mine up yet, but they're in their individual packages, with the respective ships on the front, so I'm pretty confident that I got 1 of each.   ;)

Yep, the bags are of the same look and style as the bag the mini Tie came in.
