Title: Interesting Websites
Post by: dustrho on July 29, 2003, 11:59 PM
Have you ever run across an interesting website that you just "HAD" to bookmark?  If you have, please share those sites here.

Here's one of mine that I've become addicted to... Find A Grave (http://www.findagrave.com).

Here you can do a search on anyone to see where they're buried.  Not every single person is in this database, but you'd be surprised how many people are in it.  There are millions of people in it!  It's a great tool to use if you want to know where any famous people are buried.

I find myself on this site just about every night strolling through their online cemetery (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=sh).  You click on one of the arrows to take you to a random grave/memorial.  Don't ask me why I'm so fascinated about this site, but I just am.

Try this one:  www.terraserver.com  It will show satellite photos of almost all North American locations.  It has a zoom in and out which is pretty cool.  Run a search on your address and there it is.

Now if only that site was instantaneous and streaming like in Enemy of the State. I'd have a lot of fun with that.

When is your death suppose to take place?  Mine is February 9, 2046.  I would be very happy if I made it 70 years of age.

This one is my absolute must visit...

LobotsDup (http://rogerdisney.com/lobotsdup/)

Some might find it's contents "offensive" but heck I just admire how much love one fan can have for such a critcal piece of the Star Wars puzzle...

Edited for contents of linked URL.

Harassment?  ???

Why is my posting of LobotsDup.com any more harassment than the Death Clock link...

Get out the dunce cap, call me stupid and sit me in the corner... but I see no wrong doing here at all. I think every character should have their own super fan site. Hell I might make my own Sio Bibble's Swinging Bachelor Crib...

Should there be just one exclusive super fan site out there? That's kind of discriminatory towards any of the other vital Star Wars hero's...

If someone feels harassed or threatened by that then I'm sorry... they should probably grow a thicker skin.

We love Lobot!!!

Jimmy, let's not go there. You know what this is about. You are directly taking a ribbing at the Jangos Apt site and Jango Fettish/Cory, just to start trouble. Take it to private message or e-mail, and feel free to contact me privately about the issue.

No idea what this is about really...  ???

I think Cory is a great guy and I'm sure many others would agree w/ me.

If there's some personal indifference between us... I'm sorry to hear that I thought we were all friends.  :)

It's not "exciting" or anything, but it's one of my favorite websites for information, and that's
        http://www.onlineconversion.com
At the top of the page, it says, "Convert just about anything to anything else. Over 5,000 units, and 50,000 conversions" and it's true -- money, length/distance, astronomical figures, you name it.
