I completely agree with that thinking. Look at the UGH figs from last year. Hold out a bit longer and if you wanted them but couldn't find them before you can probably pick up a set now for near retail. $10 a fig at the most. Of course the lava vader may be the exception but only because it had an announced edition size. Even then it's only a $15-$20 figure without shipping.

Thanks for the heads up! This was the only Mcquarrie figure I'm missing at the moment and was just able to order 1. And here I thought I was going to have to pay out the nose for one on feebay.

Looks like EE has these available for preorder now. I got an email on it today. All revision cases for wave 4. And I was wrong, I guess these are all shipping in September and 1 looks like it may ship in August. I'm thinking I may wait for New Force to list these since they've been having better luck filling preorders but I'm thinking if hasbro is going to screw them these would be the waves they do it on. Thoughts? I really hate preordering from EE when their USPS shipping is the same as NF's UPS shipping and their cases are about $9 more. I have a case of wave 2.1 on the way from EE now and depending on the condition I may cancel any other open orders I have with them and move them all to NF. Since I only recently started preordering from NF and I've never ordered a case of figures from EE, only comics, I'm not sure what condition they'll arrive in. Anyone have any experience with this they'd like to comment with?

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers
« on: June 21, 2007, 03:24 PM »
Yeah, I was up early this week and noticed that Transformers: Cybertron was on Cartoon Network, so I checked it out.  Maybe it was just a bad episode, but I didn't care for it, and couldn't keep watching it.  I guess I am maybe too used to the old days :P.  I think I might have seen an episode of RiD as well, but it was quite awhile back.

Aside from actually locating the toys in stores when I was a Kid (which is how I discovered Transformers) it was the comic mini series and the extended comic series that defined Transformers for me growing up. The same thing with He-Man but that's another thread. It took me a bit to get into either cartoon after reading the comics. I like the new line, don't get me wrong, but for me G1 is what Transformers was and megatron will always be a Walther P-38. The new stuff though is starting to bring me around though. I did start picking up the RID line. I just never liked the idea of the characters changing designs. Slight upgrades to the toys sure but complete overhauls drove me nuts. Then again, I'm old. On another not, I dig those Heroes packs. Those are pretty sweet.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC Wave 4 - Jabba's Palace

Are you guys sure this is a UGH wave? From what I was seeing in the UGH forum the case numbers don't seem to match what I'm seeing on EE. However, those numbers could be wrong but they seem to be inline with the listed case #'s in that thread. I'm just asking out of curiosity incase you guys are seeing something I'm not.

It looks like wave 4 is "D" and 5 is "E" if I read it correctly. If that's correct it may be awhile before these hit if wave 5 is due in September. Maybe Christmas or, God forbid, these hit during Black Friday. I'm not going to worry too much about it. I plan on preordering cases from here on out for 30th. Not so much to get the UGH but to make it easier to keep getting Mcfigs.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Recent 30AC Purchases

I picked up an extra chewie this weekend. The one I picked up this weekend makes up for the hosed card on the one I got before so now I have some trade fodder. I'm actually suprised by how many figs I've been able to pick up on decent cards. I've only snagged 1 fig so far on a bad card and if it hadn't been a mcfig I'd have passed. But I'm a carded collector for the most part.

I've given up hitting retail for these. Since Hasbro pretty much packs each fig 1 per case anymore anyway I'm just pre-ordering online. I preordered wave 4 and 5 actually because I'm tired of wasting gas to find the mcfigs. The extra cost for the figs outweighs what I'd spend in gas. In some cases higher shipping just balances it out. I figure let the scalpers fight in the aisles or leave more for those who can't order online, I'll just sit at home and get what I need and if I find anything at retail, bonus. As long as Hasbro is packing most waves at 1 ea it just makes sense unless you've got the solid hookup. But I'm not an army builder so this approach really works for me.

LEGO / Re: UCS Millenium Falcon
« on: June 14, 2007, 04:16 PM »
I'd completly forgotten about this. I just recently lucked into the last lego falcon they released and I'd have to sell that off to be able to get this. What do you think, would you keep the original trilogy edition #4504 or would you sell it off to get this? I'm curious because the 4504 has an interior and I think that makes it more fun. However, a large falcon like this would be pretty sweet.

So far I've managed to score a R2, battle droid, obi, mcfett, mctropperx2, airborn trooper, lavaminer, Han, vader, mace, marine, death star trooper and luke. Only saw them once but I lucked into 2 cases so I grabbed one each of the regular figs and 2 each of the mc's, traded a fett already. I did manage to get the vader w/coin album @ $5 on clearance at Target though. Picked up the order 66 #5 pack with anakin/vader and clone but so far that's all I've really managed to get my hands on. Money being the real obstacle over locating this stuff. I didn't pick up much on Saga but I'm all over this line. After TAC I'm probably going to go back to just picking up what I find interesting. I just wish they'd release a new death star playset.

I'm not sure if this is an insight into what may be going on or not. My nephew recently got a job at Wal-mart as one of those stalkers that go around following you because they think your stealing s***t. I asked if he could see if any of the stores he was training at could see if they were going to put out any of the 30AC figures and all of them basically said the same thing, as long as the pegs are stocked they probably won't even be ordering any of them since the ordering process is triggered by sales. That said I knew which Wal-Marts not to check that night to see if anything was going to be stocked. So I got lucky at the one and only Wal-Mart I hit that night. Here's the thing though, they had about 8 cases of star wars figures and only two were 30AC. I took 1 whole case, which I believe is wave 2 since it had 1 each of the mcboba and mcstormie along with no other duplicates and the extra boba and stormie from the other case for openers. Of the remaining 6 cases all were Saga so I didn't pay much attention to them other than 4 were 1 wave and 2 were another. The stock person though was actually nice and didn't mind me going through the pallet of stuff so I thought that was odd but welcome. It just sounds like Wal-Mart's not going to be much of an option for 30AC until near the middle/end of the waves.

At least the exchange rate is starting to get better......USD$1 is now equal to 1.12CAD. I remember when it used to be a lot higher.

Yeah ! Here you go ! I know I want these !

I'd love a set of these too but unfortunatly there are none in my area and they all seem to be on ebay. They say these were limited to 3,000pcs and I find that hard to believe with an exclusive, Hasbro figure. If I can't find one at retail I'm not messing with them. They seem to go for about $10-$15 on ebay right now. Something just doesn't seem to add up on these. Limited to 3,000 but no one is really jumping on them on ebay? They have to be more common or else no one really seems to care about these.

Other Collectibles / Re: 2007 USPS Star Wars Collectibles

The one in Columbus is going to be near the post office on East Broad Street if I remember correctly. It seems a long time for this stamp sheet to come out considering they announced it today. Then there's the express mailers that are only available online. I have all those silver foil stamp sheets, first day release and other various stamp sheets for OT that came out back in the late nineties. Did anyone else pick those up? I forget what the deal was with them but they weren't US stamps. I wonder what's going to happen to these mail boxes when this is over. I think the site said they were only going to be out for a few weeks. That seems stupid to me. They should just leave them out or at least they could auction them off to collectors. I only say that because I'll bet they just repaint them blue and put them out as regular boxes.
