Good point; a lot of films start out good, lag like hell in the middle, but redeem themselves at the end.

Then again, there are just as many that start out strong and totally go to **** in the second half.

Well, most of what I didn't like by the midpoint, I still didn't like by the end.  Just can't stand not knowing what happens!

Anyone need in a Shaak Ti, one on the bay for a bin of $99.99.

Yeah, I can't pass that up.  SOLD.  Thanks for posting DSJ!

I used my Bing account to save $15 (double points this week) and Ebay rewards for another $2, so it came to just $89 shipped.   8)

Wow, that's amazing.   :o  I'm pretty dissapointed in the cases though - you'd think they would stack straighter.   ;)

Holy crap!  That's a lot of Kubes.  I'd be too frustrated with all the Kubes hidden in the back.  You could wall mount them and just make a full room wall out of these.  Maybe even a 2-layer wall in the middle of a room so you can see half on one side and half on the other?  Nice collection regardless!

NO lack of arrogance, I'll give you that.  Mock drafts on Yahoo are all over the place.

Ha!  I was just thinking more along the lines of last year's draft.  First round was more or less right were I expected guys to go, although Brady was a few picks earlier than I would have guessed.  Second round is where teams started to fall apart (Maroney, McGahee, B. Edwards for example were all 2nd rounders).

By the way, I had a nice laugh looking back at Ruiner's top 3 selections at the #2 position: Brady, Maroney, and T. Holt.  Ouch.  ;)

I have never walked away from a movie I started - at home or in the theater.  No matter how bad it is (and some were pretty bad - I used to watch a lot of SCI-FI original movies), I am compelled to stick it out and see how it ends.   :P

Speaking of the 2-packs, are the Iron Man/SHEILD agent packs available at brick n mortar retail?  I saw them online at HTS many weeks ago and haven’t heard of or seen them since.

Yup - got them at a KC area Toys R Us the other day.

Damn you've had good luck with Marvel and DC lately!  Got my Tigra by the way, thanks much!

Romo and TO are going to light it up this year.

Wow, I hope you were being serious.  I think I've got round 1 pegged pretty well, but it's going to be a mess after that.

Oh I think you'll be surprised at how round one actually goes...

We shall see.  If its surprising, then that means people aren't drafting as well I would have thought, which means I'll have an even better team than expected.   :)

The Legacy Collection / Re: Wal-Mart Droid Factory Sets
« on: August 25, 2009, 06:32 PM »
Has anyone scanned these lately?  I've had a few reasonable-but-unconfirmed reports of a couple of Wal-Marts marking them down to an even $10.00.  No receipts yet but certainly interesting if there's any truth to it.

No that I've seen, but I've see these off the plan-o-gram and without shelf space already.

Was there ever a POG that actually included these?  They were in different locations at every store I saw them at.  Looked like they were just flexed into the set versus getting an official location.

Well, I never got the Toybiz Deadpool and he’s pretty hard to track down at a reasonable price, so kudos for redoing a popular figure.  I’m shocked that Valkryie got enough votes to make #2, but I’ll take her to hang with Thor.  I wonder if she’s going to have a storyline arc in some upcoming Marvel book.  And Black Widow is a remake, but the original was a pretty cruddy version of her.  I have a custom using the old body and an Abbey Chase Danger Girl head that I’m pretty happy with, but I won’t complain about an improved official version.  This is the only one I might pass on – depends on who her counterpart is.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2009: What Are You Collecting?
« on: August 24, 2009, 11:54 PM »
Wow, lots more MOTU Classics collectors than I would have thought!  Since we're almost to the end of Summer, I thought I'd look back on this again to see if I did what I said I would, complete with grades for each.

  Series
  Type
  Notes
Star Wars3.75" FigsGetting 2x of all "new" basic figs from Legacy, but very few Legends figs.  [A+ ... I have stuck to 2x of each so far]
Multipacks2x of all Battlepacks, Evolutions, and Comic Packs unless they are reissued figs.  I'm most excited for the Legacy Comic Packs coming out this fall!  [A+ ... I bought a few extra Yavin packs, but just 1x of the Deluxe packs]
Vehicles1x of anything new (not just repainted, I want NEW.  This will include the Y-Bomber and Turbotank - not so sure about the X-Wing, but I'll probably end up getting that too. [A+ ... Only found the Turbo Tank and mid-size assortment so far]
ExclusivesI'll probably get 1x of any exclusives and try to pick up a second on the cheap sometime down the road.  [D ... I picked up 2x of each including the DF sets, SDCC, and even the Ponds fig that I planned to wait on]
VintageI crossed Blue Snaggletooth off the list finally, so I'm just looking for a Brown Snake for Yoda and a Helmet for Boushh.  I'll still be shopping for various 12" figs and parts as well. [A ... I crossed most of this off the past few months.]
Galactic HeroesThought I could drop this line, but I just bought the Snowspeeder BP.   ::)  I may buy a few more of my favorite characters, but otherwise I hope to be done with these. [C ... Managed to avoid the mega-packs, but I've picked up maybe half of the 2-packs released this year.
KubricksStill not spending big on the chase figures, but its going to be hard to ignore the Fett set coming out later this year. [F ... I bought a box of both S10 and the Fett collection, and couldn't pass up deals on several chases.  Han Trooper, Tarkin, EB Set, Max Rebo set, WF Chewie, most of Mediacom Box Set C, Shadow Stormtrooper, Shadow Guard, S10 Gree.  Ouch ouch ouch.]
12" FigsI've drastically cut back on these, but may get 1-2 more this year depending on what is released.  [A- ... I broke down and bought a second General Kenobi to have one open - that was probably unnecessary]
LegoI'm done with Lego unless I can find things on major clearance.  I love these, but am running out of space and money.[A+ ... none yet this year.]
MarvelLegendsIts a dying line, but I'm in until the bitter end.  Will be getting the 2-packs with Iron Man & SHIELD figs at some point.  [B+ ... I have yet to find the 2-packs, but managed to build Ares and nab a Nemesis Tigra.]
UniverseI really want to get the Avengers from this line, but not happy about reports of $9 price tags.  I will probably get a few here or there as deals pop up.  [B- ... I have stuck to just the Avengers and passed on the TRU multi-packs, but I've paid full price $8 or more for these.]
TransformersMasterpieceChances are slim of me getting any of these due to the price point.  I passed on Grimlock and Magnus, but would likely lay down some dough for these if I can find a deal.  [A+ ...None yet this year.]
AlternatorsHey, I can always hope!  ;)  [N/A ...I'm ready to admit these are done.   :(]

Going to do my best to completely avoid DC, GI Joe, Transformers, Iron Man, McFarlane, Indy, & Mighty Muggs (Snowtrooper almost pulled me in this week - I know I will be weak when I see the Biker Scout though   :-\[B ... I have avoided most of these.  Picked up one Joe plane on clearance, but avoided most of these lines.  Muggs are the one I caved on - I bought the Scout Trooper & Snowtrooper at full price, which opened the door to Revan & Rex on clearance, which further opened the door to Soundwave and Optimus Transformer versions.  Ugh!  Overall I'm going to give myself a B average thus far.]

It looks like the results of the Marvel Legends Poll are in:

Hasbro Legends

It finished out like this:

1 - Deadpool
2 - Valkyrie
3 - Black Widow

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.  First poll like this where I love all of the choices.  Now let's just hope the 2nd figure in each is worth getting and that we can actually find these somewhere.
