The Vintage Collection / Re: Background character resculpts
« on: June 6, 2011, 06:57 PM »

I think about some Bespin guards (caucasian and afroamerican) which could come with an open jacket feature for army build.

Also I would like to have a new Rebel Endor Commando that updates the all green suit, perhaps a soldier with an extra piece for belt and bandolier, an accurate paintjob on camouflage.

A resculpt of the OT Tusken, Sand people, if this comes with sofgoods, more definition on the rob.

Would like to see an update of the pdt-8 if the re-release isnīt possible
Pdt is the basis for an evolution onto Hoth Sledges, is how Hasbro Kenner interpret them.

The new speeder bike is also on schedule, hope to see how they will depict the hoover motion. Is a challenge for sculptors as they probably dispense with the clasic speeder bike legs.

Only a question guys, about these waves
And forgive me if I skip the trend a little

I have the Darth Vader from tlc
I havenīt bought the vintage style 3 pieces helmet update

As I looked on teh web all this time...
It seems that the only wave to remove the collar (the 3dr piece) is to
first remove the head.

So some reviews tell this instructions

remove head
separate collar
reinsert head without collar.

Is it the way this proceed or there is another way to remove the collar
without separating Vaderīs head?

Thanks in advance

Collect All 92! / Re: Princess Leia Organa (Boushh Disguise)

Always as a kid during vintage time, I thought Boushh weapon was an unusual rifle, cause the handle at the bottom (sort of an imperial rifle handle) gave it that connotation.

I only got potf2 version, but Iīll be glad to acquire the other versions sometime

I thing a tvc update would focus on a correction of the legs likeness, perhaps less angular, with a softened shape.
Also a slighty taller Boushh for a tvc update would be welcome.

Perhaps is the b-wing from dark horse comics, repainted and with the last update of the cockpit (buttons and panels on sculpt)

Shadows of the Dark Side / Re: New Taun-Taun (w/Luke) Rumor
« on: May 12, 2011, 10:36 AM »
This superb sculpt of the upcoming taun taun deserves a superior paintjob: Not only the shades of grey, brown or beige on the fur, but colour for the nails (on hands and feet), the eyes with iris and the interior of the ears pink.

Weīre dreaming on a definitive Hoth Luke, with removable hat, binoculars, lightsaber, working holster: Perhaps he will be the wide stance version (unless his articulation resembles the balljoints for tvc Bespin Luke or tlc Dewback sandtrooper)
and later we could buy the figure with more natural stance on retail.

Vintage Gamorrean was a decent interpretation for that time. Stand up, not so wide stance, firm, with an accurate axe.
The naif interpretation is the vestige of an era we lived and supported as collectors when kids.

I celebrate all the updates of tvc Gamorrean, he has movable head, removable helmet, soft goods piece, is more wider than the original, and you can pose his arms in a way suggesting that he swing them when walking, even if his hands are holding weapons.
Only seems that his torso is kinda shorter compared to vintage or potf2 torsos of the same character.
The paint job is movie accurate, and could be the base for slightly variants of this figure in the future, like a taller
Gamorrean with a larger torso.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Willrow Hood
« on: April 29, 2011, 11:20 PM »
I canīt fancy Willrow Hood body enough fat for an updated Porkins.
Hood is fat only at belly area, but potj Jek Porkins completed that fat structure better.
I understand that Hood body can adapt to an harness, considering the current need to economize material.

But, potj Porkins helmet was well depicted with its microphone.

This means a redefinition on scale, but big guys would remain huge. After that diminition in size, there will be come a reduction of Wuher based on a smaller guy body (perhaps the reuse of Hood)

Only a humble opinion, in the art of sculptors variations are a matter of interpretation.

Nice Review: highly detailed

It is a new figure with accurate depiction of clothes, character and weapons.

The separate piece of leg strap for charges is a revolutionary tool, applicable in the near future for rebel pilots figures.

The poseability of the figure is also very enjoyable.

Picked up my tvc AT-AT Commander, at last.
Bought at Wong in Lima for 34.95 soles, nearly 10 dollars.

Gentle Giant / Re: Female Stormtrooper Statue
« on: April 17, 2011, 10:18 AM »
This statue looks very comic accurate, the legacy story stormtroopers are a blend of OT stormies with some pieces of armor from the PT clones, like the regular knee plates, the division and distribution of panels and dots from the belly section, the smaller utility belt and the white soles of the shoes.

Is the return of one of the coolest vintage figure, with the upgrade of painted borders... Yes, the belt on vinty DSC has only silver on the front but the borders lack it.

Furthermore, the pass to 12 inches scale shows the value of the original sculpt... a figure if updated, would need a very wise sculpt to match the originalīs quality.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2011 "Vintage" Collection Wave 7
« on: April 12, 2011, 12:27 PM »
Thanks Anton... I was probably thinking in figures for such a themed wave like anh Jabba henchmen from docking bay 94, a new imperial gunner, perhaps another human denizen from Chalmun Cantina.

wave 7 should have been more ANH focused: perhaps teh new imperial technician, a new Tarkin
but, itīs fine... all respect for the pt figures (they are fine)

I wonder if the RFT would come with the staff of the Yavin Honor Guard
I donīt remember if there was some kind of photo at sdcc 2011.

The two heads variants are a plus for the figure, as the painted antenna.

The blaster charges strap anticipates a virtual evolution for rebel pilots, maybe some time, they would come with that detachable piece, so the sculpt of legs must become more exigent. (You may say Iīm a dreamer but Iīm not the only one.)
