The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases
« on: December 2, 2012, 08:16 PM »
Went to TRU this weekend early in the morning looking for new Skylander figures for my kids, no luck.  I did, however, find the Evazan wave.  Picked up a red bandana Kithaba & Nom Anor.  The best part was that they had the buy one get one 50% off deal.  I think it's the first time in like 6 months that TRU had anything "new."

Soft goods are okay but only when done right.  Unfortunately, most of the time, Hasbro fails when it comes to soft goods.  On that note, the AOTC Saga Royal Guard with plastic robes doesn't look all that bad.

I agree that the soft goods on both the ROTS version and the VC version suck.  That's THE major flaw with the VC version, IMO, which prevents it from being a definitive version.  That is why I thought to myself, why even bother amassing an army of the VC version if it isn't that much more superior to the ROTS version.  And like you said, the VC version is a pretty penny.

I'm seeing prices drop on the ROTS guard and couldn't be happier.  I honestly like him fine and plan on picking up some when I see them for anything $5 or less.

So yes, it's true, as I picked up a pair for $8 this past weekend, and honestly, I think the ROTS can go "toe to toe" with the recent VC version.

Scored an Imperial Navy Commander yesterday morning at Target.  Really surprised to find anything other than TPM figures at Target.  Malgus & Vader were gone, but the rest of the wave was there.

The only double decker Target I've been to is the one in San Diego.  They are cool.

I picked up an Ultra Ewok w/attack glider recently for like $10.  Fits well with all my other ewoks, IMO.

All the Targets in my area are great....if you're looking for Qui-Gon, Battle Droids, & Naboo Guards.  :-\

This really is an amazing assortment. I have them all standing on my desk, and I can't stop looking at them.

Me too, with emphasis on Prune Face.  They really nailed him.

No Ree Yees love?  :-*

You know, I'm actually pleased with the Star Tours version (which is simply the POTF2 version with newer paint apps).  But yeah, I do have a soft spot for Ree Yees, I just don't like to show it.

Feedback / Re: Diddly's feedback

Diddly hooked me up with some extras of the last vintage wave.  Smooth, fair & quick.  Thanks again!

Wow, so much has changed and Hasbro actually gave us a fair share of nice resculpts.  On that note, I wouldn't mind seeing them follow suit by giving us resculpts of the following:

ANH
1. Ceremonial Leia (the last one we got was like, what, 1998?)
2. Lars Power Droid
3. Uncle Owen
4. Aunt Beru

ESB
1. Yoda (an OT version is LONG overdue)
2. Leia Bespin Escape

ROTJ
1. Emperor with throne
2. Sim Aloo
3. Mon Mothma
4. Yak Face
5. EV-9D9
6. 8D8
7. Sy Snootles (original)

We're on the same page.  I'm perfectly happy with the ROTS version, too, and will gladly pick up 4 more if the prices continue to drop.  Of course, I'll need to find some extra force pikes...

I still think that it's inexcusable on Hasbro's part to have left Nien Nunb's lower mouth unpainted.  Even the vintage Kenner figure from 1983 was painted!  No excuse.
