Revenge of the Sith / Re: TRU Exclusive Clones!
« on: August 17, 2005, 04:21 PM »
Sometime people make mistakes.  I'm sure RS didn't just "make this up."  I'm sure they either got some bad info, or misunderstoof some info.  Big deal.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Recent Purchases

My local KB (Westchester, NY) had the black Pilot and Green Clone commander.  No signs of the Shocktrooper.

Wow. Those renderings are very cool.  In fact, they remind me of the Death Star  in an early McQuarrie--the one with the Stormtroopers carrying the shields and the lightsabers.

Pehaps you could look at some of that McQuarrie art and make a "concept" playset!

Keep up the great work.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?

Michelle Forbes as Cain is going to be great.  I think she's one of the most underused talents on TV.  Her role in Homocide was great.

So...who on Galactica is a Cylon?

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Animatics Footage (Kinda Neat)

My favorite shot was the pan of Anikin/Vader walking through the Jedi Temple while troopers were blowing the heck out of everything.  That was the only moment in the movie that I thought was rushed.  That one shot would have been a perfect addition.

I just opened this guy today, and while he's not a knowckout, I kind of like  him in a vintage figure way.  He looks better without his cloak on.

Speaking of cloaks, I just put the brown cloak that came on the switcheroo Ani-Darth Vader Deluxe on the E2 Ani from the Evo set, and it looks great.

You guys are all wrong.

Every album by The Kinks is better than any other album ever recorded by anyone, anywhere.  ;D

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Coca-Cola or Pepsi?

Pepsi.  Always.

I was very happy back in 1997 when the SW SEs were coming out, and Lucasfilm had all of their tie-ins with Pepsi product!

I like coke in a can, but that's it.

WooHoo it's Friday!  BSG is a great way to end up the work week. Yeah, I know that's kinda lame, but wifey and I have a 10 month old, so we don't get out too often.

I'm kinda bummed out though, cuz after tonight, there's only 5 episodes left until January!

But the DVD will fill the gap nicely!

Oddly enough, I have seen all of these waves at KB over the last 2-3 weeks.  However, I missed Tarkin, and Mustafar Ani. I have not seen these waves anywhere else, but was told they were at a local Target for a bit.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Clones...in capes!

I'll second the Robin Hood notion.

It's funny how the old Bib Fortuna coat looks better than any modern Hasbro "soft goods"

I'm in the "I love aliens" camp, so I really dig this guy.  As much as I like many of the ROTS figures, there were so few "new" charcters for a while, that this guy really floated my boat.

I'm not really sure about the specifics, but the DVD set being released in September has a lot more stuff on it , including the Mini Series.  The UK version, available at Best Buy right now, is lacking on extras.  Save your money, wait until Sept.

Ed, yes, the US DVD will have the Mini Series and the first 13 episodes.

Bring it bcak to Galactica...

Yeah.  This is my favorite show in a long, long time.  What I like about it, is while it is Sci-Fi, it feels more like a drama.  Personally, I don't really like that much Sci-Fi TV.  I find Stargate and Atlantis pretty dull and hokey.  But Galactica grabs me and pulls me by the throat.  It feels more like Homocide:Life on the Street, than Star Trek!

The second season is really starting to crank now, and I'm very interested to know what happens next.  I can see that the show moves too slowly for some, but that's part of the charm for me.  It's in the details.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: EE Exclusive Astromech 5-Packs
« on: August 5, 2005, 06:46 AM »
I'll be the first to step up and say that the price doesn't bother me.  These are so obscure, that we're lucky to get them.  I thought that the EE clone sets were overpriced because they were an item that could have done very, very well on cards, but Hasbro never offered them.  It was almost like Hasbro knew how much we wanted colored SA clones, and held back from releasing them on regular stores.

With the R2 units, well, this set would tank at retail.
