They have arrived.   ;D

Okay so here are my beautiful diagrams again.  Please note I had to flip the boxes over in the master case to get them like that.

Box 1

1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Stormtrooper
7. Stormtrooper
8. Emperor
9. Bespin Luke
10. Hoth Han
11. Nien Nunb
12. Luke/ Vader chase  ;D

Box 2

1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Stormtrooper
8. Stormtrooper
9. Emperor
10. Bespin Luke
11. Hoth Han
12. Nien Nunb

Box 3

1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Stormtrooper
8. Stormtrooper
9. Emperor
10. Bespin Luke
11. Hoth Han
12. Nien Nunb

Box 4

1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Emperor
8. Bespin Luke
9. Hoth Han
10. Han in Stormtrooper disguise  ;D
11. Han in Stormtrooper disguise  ;D
12. Nien Nunb
Using Jon's format, mine came out slightly differently.

Box 1.
1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Stormtrooper
8. Stormtrooper
9. Emperor
10. Nien Nunb <--------
11. Hoth Han
12. Bespin Luke <-------

Box 2.
1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Stormtrooper
8. Stormtrooper
9. Emperor
10. Nien Nunb <--------
11. Hoth Han
12. Bespin Luke <-------

Box 3.
1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Stormtrooper
7. Stormtrooper
8. Emperor
9. Bespin Luke
10. Hoth Han
11. Nien Nunb
12. Luke/ Vader chase

Box 4.
1. Vader
2. Vader
3. Vader
4. Stormtrooper
5. Stormtrooper
6. Vader
7. Emperor
8. Bespin Luke
9. Hoth Han
10. Han in Stormtrooper disguise  ;D
11. Han in Stormtrooper disguise  ;D
12. Nien Nunb

So the placing of the figures was pretty much the same except for Luke and Nunb being switched over, but the boxes were in a different order.

Well, I paid for my order for a box from HLJ today for $90.48 shipped - fingers crossed for a chase piece.

So let me ask these questions:

1) Chase Logray and VC Jawa were 1/48 correct?  That means thatre have not have a 1/24 chase yet like the Stormie Luke and Han.

2) If that is the case, what price do you guys think that the Han and Luke will settle at?

Regarding the Chase Fett, the ROTJ version ended at $96.00 recently.  I was bidding on it but did not want to go over a $100 at the time.

1) Chase Logray and VC Jawa were 1/48 correct?  That means thatre have not have a 1/24 chase yet like the Stormie Luke and Han.

Again, it's a technical point, but while the Logray and Jawa were both 1:48 in their respective boxes, the average overall ratio for them is 1:96 since you only got one of them in a Master Case and then the Master Cases were evenly split.

In other words, for every set of 48 figures that had a Logray, there was a set of 48 that didn't.  That means that they are really closer to 1:96 rarity.

The same thing kind of goes for the Stormtrooper Twins.  While they are 1/24 in the Master Cases they are in, they are only in 1/2 the cases making them functionally closer to 1:48 chase figures.

As for the price, it's really hard to say, but I think all 3 of the chase will hover around the $90-100 range for quite a bit.

Of course, I'm not a Medicom Offficial so my assumption that the cases are evenly split is just a guess right now.  It could work out that the Stormtrooper Han is only in 1/4 of the cases and Stormtrooper Luke is in 3/4 of the cases and that would throw the math all off...  :-\

Hey everyone,

I think I'm going to ComicCon on Thursday.  Any suggestions for things I should pick up?  I'm only going if it's worth it.  Thanks!  Tony

Hey Tony, where do you live again?  Are you here in SoCal?  Also, any chance you can make it to SDCC on Friday too, since that's when we're going to have the JD Hooters bash!  8)

Looks like that $49 Luke was a bargain

I know I would have bought it at that price.  It's still early, but I hope this doesn't keep up, otherwise a master case is looking like the only sensible way to go.  Aside from the fact it's too late.

A set at $300 might not be a bad investment. :-\

Edit: Luke ended at $86 :'(

If the Luke Vader is packed in 1:48, and if there is either 2:48 of the Han Stormies or 2:48 of the Lukes Stormies, but not both, does this not make all 3 chase figures 1:48? This is of course assuming that the Lukes and Hans are equally packed. Or is my maths all over the shop?

Sounds about right to me, unless there is more of one of them than the other.

Dagobah Vader = 1/48 (one per Master Case)
and
Stormtrooper Luke = 2/48 (Two per Master Case)
or
Stormtrooper Han = 2/48 (Two per Master Case)

So, on average (assuming version 1 and version 2 are equally distributed), the Total for two master cases would be=
30:96 Darth Vader (5:16)
28:96 Stormtrooper (7:24)
8:96 Emperor (1:12)
8:96 Hoth Han (1:12)
8:96 Bespin Luke (1:12)
8:96 Nien Nunb (1:12)
2:96 Stormtrooper Han (1:48)
2:96 Stormtrooper Luke (1:48)
2:96 Dagobah Darth Vader (1:48)

If that holds true (all 3 CHASE = 1/48), I would expect to see Stormie Han and Stormie Luke hang around the $90 range for a while...  :-\

Jeff

Jeff had the same calculations as you guys.

This is going to be pricey to grab all 3 chases without a master case.

Ain`t that the truth!
2 of my buddies and I split our master case. One guy is diehard Vader fan, so we
all agreed he can have the Vader chase, and the other 2 get the Luke or Han trooper.
I should have bought my own master case in addition to the one we split!
Would have worked out to about the same price as buying a full set on eBay,
plus I`d have a wicked stormtrooper army  ;)

If that's the case, there should be more chase overall, leading to an average overall LOWER price.  But!  That's contrasted with the chase being infinitely more interesting than most of the others have been.

Fett - minor variations so some may choose to ignore them, though a tremendously popular character

Indy - hugely popular character, but not Star Wars, so some may ignore it

Logray - strangely, not everyone loves Ewoks, but the price settled around the $80-100 range

VCJ - relatively minor variation, like Fett but not nearly so popular, especially with people that don't have a love for vintage

Vader/Han Stormie/Luke Stormie - all tremendously popular characters and main ones at that.  Vader will draw all the non-Kubrick Vader fans.  Luke and Han should be lesser draws, but they are less abundant than the previous secondary chase.  So add a popular (and cool) figure to a reduced number of chase (2/48 vs 3/48) and while their price should be lower, since it's the same ratio as Vader, overall, the price for them will be up.

Again I'm left to conclude that the $300 price might not be that bad for a full set.  Jeez, I'm going to have to hit up Dale and Dave for that money they owe me :-\

Yeah.  That's what I'm definitely doing for series 5.  I'll put $300 aside and just wait until a full set pops up.  Too much hassle witht asking all of my contacts.  Most of them ignored me.  LOL  And the guy who did help me, only did it 'cause he basically owed me one.

These little guys' popularity is getting crazy!  The less head-ache next time, the better.

I was going to ask if that would be a good idea (buying the set) for series 5 but after looking at the pic and seeing the figures, I remember we were all speculating that it would be a blue snag.  I think the blue snag is a great possibility, but will the other chase be like the Han/Luke in this series, in that they'll be so popular?

BTW, I had to go back at least 20 pages to find that pic :o
